The League Cup tie in August was fairly eventful. There was the obvious major downdside of the injury to Jamie Murphy but you also saw a four goal haul from a Rangers forward (only three were allowed) and IMO, the best save from a Rangers goalkeeper all season, ironically it was Wes in goals that day.

There is an old school quality that a fit McCrorie brings to the team and if he is given the chance of a prolonged run in the team, I think we'll see one of the best Scottish midfielders to emerge for some time. I've often said he'll be a Rangers captain one day but for SG to come out and say that tends to suggest how highly he is thought of where it matters. -

I think we need at least 10 of the next 12 points available. To do that, we'll need to show improvement on the first half of the league season. AWAY: Killie, Livingston, Aberdeen HOME: St.Mirren Difficult restart but the players have to see it as an opportunity. -

26th's power of distant recall are almost as good and interesting as his writing Huge game in terms of momentum against a very organised and effective Kilmarnock side. Stewart may have gone but they still have Jones and Brophy as potent attacking threats. We need to start consistently winning league matches so as to build on the win against Celtic. We have a better squad and SG&Co need to find the best formation(s)/starting XI as quickly as possible. Defoe, Davis and to a degree, Barisic will need to get themselves up to speed asap. Of the three, it might be that only Davis starts tomorrow, I don't think you can throw in all three at the sametime. Any kind of win tomorrow will do, just come home with the three points. -
There appear to be different views on it within the game. When at Rangers, David Templeton wasn't played when the team played on an artificial surface but his next club was Hamilton Academicals.

We have 2 vital games on plastic in 5 days (Kilmarnock and Livingston). Fingers crossed on the injury front.

Could do without the Morelos bids at such an important juncture. We need him to focus on his football. -
Simplistic argument but if you are going to play a certain style, isn't it better to be finding ways of making it work against agricultural tactics from the get-go ?

Good to hear 55 being the number that came to the manager when describing Borna's reaction

Rusty but no big deal. Most top flight sides playing in Cup yesterday were the same. Wouldn't read much into today, it was about getting minutes. Barisic, fingers crossed but the lad seems to be made of glass. He's a real player and we could really do with a full 5 months from him for the rest of the season. Football really starts again on Wednesday, that'll be the time we'll get a better idea of how we're shaping up.

If the often clickbait bullsh*t tabloids were posters on Gersnet they'd be at best ridiculed and possibly banned for repeat BS. -

Haven't a scooby what we are paying Defoe but given the media seem to have oscillated between 85K and now a 130K regards his wage at Bournemouth, I'd take anything they said with a mountain of salt. The fact that Bournemouth have two recall options during the 18 month loan doesn't seem to align with this latest rumour. Had we had 65K a week to spend on a weekly wage, I'm fairly sure SG&Co would have got more for the money.
