  1. I'd be disappointed if he was younger but regardless of any other consideration, he's at an age and stage of his career where it makes sense.
  2. Getting picked ahead of Carlos Bacca shows how he is rated by the Colombian management team. He now needs to go out there and take his chance. His previous call-up came from the previous manager. The fact that the new manager has also called him up is encouraging for his future. Unfortunately, the long trip isn't the best preperation for the Celtic game. There always seems to be something that has us going into that fixture at less than 100%.
  3. There is one cartridge with two shots for whatever club representative (fan) group to publicly use. 1. Metaphorically take out /discredit Cosgrove from his lofty platform.... 2. ....Linked to why he goes on so much about whataboutery, which is at least in part to protect himself...and that it is but a tool that looks to lock the sectarianism issue into a one-way debate. The takeaway point being the wider application of the above rather than just regarding Cosgrove.
  4. The natural reaction is 'don't be paranoid' but given what we see almost weekly, you start to have reasonable doubt.
  5. Out of the Top 4 from last season (Rangers, Celtic, Aberdeen and Hibs) at this stage, I think we are the only team to have improved our points total. The middle bracket of the league have more points.
  6. Now that you mention H&H...... What about an InterPodThinkTank come together to discuss relationship with BBC Scotland .... 26th, JohnMc, David Edgar & Shane CRO
  7. A winners mentality stems from having enough quality in a squad. We lack creative quality.
  8. Good healthy discussion on the off-field events of late. If there was ever another pod that centered on the situation with BBC Scotland, a panel of 26th, JohnMc and the guy who uses the twitter handle of CRO would be intereting. Thank's to all involved for the latest podcast !
  9. Is this a stewarding spit roast on Mr.G ?
  10. A stronger squad is relative to what I think has been generally a stronger league, which in turn has been partly obscured by the weakness of the three teams at the bottom. Last season, at the split (33 games) the team in 7th place had 38 points. This season, after 29 games, the team in 7th place has 40 points. Last season, at the split (33 games) Rangers had 62 points. This season, after 29 games, we have 59 points. Last season, at the split (33 games) Aberdeen had 62 points. This season, after 29 games, they have 51 points.
  11. Looks like a steward got lifted for a sly kick at a Villa player yesterday Polis are saying he was spoken to but no offence reported as it stands.
  12. The Tav & Candy right hand side is pure net synergy that nine out of ten teams can only dream about. If they didn't make errors, they'd be worth more than we could pay.
  13. Some blatant displays of bias and disdain on show since Friday night. I hope the club is taking careful note of them all. We are the Palestinians of Scottish football.
  14. I apoligise for the mistaken and lazy assumption that you were in the VB.
  15. VB doing what VB are good at. A lack of respect for anyone who isn't fully on board with what they propose...... and they wonder why many misunderstand them !!
  16. It's their M.O. as per Christie, Morgan, Allan etc. We can't continue to miss out on all the promising Scottish talent coming through. Getting value in the home market is an important part of the club recovery.
  17. I'd have been more inclined to give the benefit of the doubt if he hadn't previously come out and blatantly said as such. ie. it's his stated belief. Where exactly do you think he proposes that they go, not to be missed ? Whether it be the previous 'hard language' or the now softer rhetoric, it amounts to the same thing. The extermination of a people, of millions of human beings. It's generally done so as to dehumanize a people and basically prepare the ground for the continuation or/and upscaling of treating them as less than human.
  18. You have to the look at the club and the football operation in general to get a better idea of improvement or otherwise. IMO the club is still recovering ground little by little, looking to provide a more solid business base, from which the Football Operation continues to develop and modernise, including encouraging work on the Academy. The First team recruitment and squad is still relatively limited by the fact we are way behind on the finances and the distance of 8 points is probably a fairly accurate reflection. It has also been limited by what was called a period of 'infrastructural failure' which we are still paying for (but TBF may be balanced off with a fee for Alfredo Morelos). The recruitment of Steven Gerrard was a coup for Dave King. A brave and imaginative appointment that quickly paid out with European Group stage qualification. The rest of the season was always going to have teething problems but we still have the Scottish Cup to go for. The litmus test for SG&Co is improving levels of consistency next season. I wouldn't be too bothered to miss out on European Group Stage football for a season if it helped us mount a serious title challenge. Bottomline, we are in a much better place but still have a way to go. The respective accounts of us and them illustrate the problem, probably moreso than the league table.
  19. I'd welcome Aberdeen getting three points closer today.
  20. If legally you can't really presume too much regards the person arrested prior to proceedings, then the description 'football fan' is stretching it. A XX year old man was arrested would have been better at this stage. The report could provide the detail of what part of the ground he came from.
  21. Rangers Captains and Hibs fans
  22. "The two laid hands on each other..." I'm sure that's how BBC Scotland reported the incident at Tynecastle between Neil Lennon and John Wilson
  23. The triangular passing can look good but unless we do more with the possession in the last third it will count for little. Bottomline is that we still miss the creative link between middle to front and it often becomes very apparent in games against top six sides. As it stands, we need someone (usually Morelos, sometimes Tav/Kent) to play out of their skin and make things happen. That doesn't always happen and hence our results are inconsistent. We don't get beat much but we do draw a lot of games against sides we should be beating on balance of play. However, balance of play without end product won't get us anywhere. Our squad is what it is and I wouldn't expect much to change in what is left of this season. However, we are capable of the odd 'almost perfect performance' and this is what we need to bring to the table in the Scottish Cup.
  24. Do you know why I used the.... Maybe you should......line ? It was a sarcastic response to you using the "Maybe they should..." line in the post I was replying to. In other words, look in the mirror and repeat your latest sermon. Now that you have recognised the right of X to donate their money as they see fit and it has nothing to do with child abuse, you now invoke the 'yahoosympathiser' line........ Akin to a man stumbling backwards grabbing hold of fresh air. I can understand why people on here might be reluctant to praise Celtic supporters for doing anything, fine. I wouldn't have bothered myself, until I saw someone had posted an article, which got the customary and reprehensible call for the genocide of all the Palestinian people from the usual suspect, followed by irrelevant and inaccurate comparisons. The Palestinians are human beings who are heavily disadvantaged at various levels and good on ANYONE or GROUP who want to donate money to them. At the same time, there is no pressure on anyone to do so and if they have a problem with it, they could at least attempt to be civil and accurate.
