  1. Bachmann 'protecting' his area Rangers 1-0 Kilmarnock Neil McCann Former Rangers winger on BBC Sportsound
  2. Killie down to 10.....don't know who or why !
  3. Cannae see the game but a Morelos goal after 7 minutes helps to tick off both points.
  4. Can Jack and Kamara play at a high tempo ? They strike me as being more comfortable with a measured and careful approach. That said, haven't seen enough of Kamara to be sure. Would have preferred McCrorie for this one.
  5. Would have preferred to see McCrorie start, is he injured ?
  6. I reckon a response/reaction is almost a given and will come in the form of an effort to start with a relatively high tempo. As I've said, I think it important we make hay and get ahead early in the game when we may have them on the ropes. If it settles down into a not uncommon Killie stalemate or worse and the crowd start turning, it'll be a real test of the players will and nerve. Team news will hopefully bring a starting XI close to the last OF game.
  7. Read what I wrote........ I think we'll end up winning by a couple but that is contingent on an early goal. I wouldn't fancy our chances if it becomes a frustrating battle. #3-1
  8. Neither team are in a great place. - We haven't scored since Defoe deftly put away the definitive goal at Aberdeen (180 minutes) - Kilmarnock haven't won a game since they beat us at Rugby Park nearly a month ago Two things strike me as being especially important tonight. 1. Morelos plays at the high level we know he can. 2. We score an early goal (something we've done a lot at Ibrox this season. I think we'll be up for it and we need to make a high tempo count for something in the first 20 minutes or so. Neither Davis or Defoe should start. I hope Arfield is fit and not at about 75% as he looked in the last few games. I think we'll end up winning by a couple but that is contingent on an early goal. I wouldn't fancy our chances if it becomes a frustrating battle.
  9. SG doesn't lack baws,............. he lacks enough good players. He'll want to address that in the summer window and the board will need to find serious backing once again to convince him that title success is doable.
  10. We'll have Celtic looking to run referee academy next and be in charge of recruitment.
  11. A question regards the point raised in the CRO article needs to be researched, carefully framed and very publicly asked by Rangers. It could serve as part of a follow-up to the Robertson interview.
  12. I get that McCoist tends to be motivated by money (it's not uncommon) but he'd be a good person to contribute in an effort against BBC Scotland because he's very good at media and he's had an up close and personal negative experience in the same fight against PQ. Whether he'd be up for it, I don't know but you can only ask. We should let Gerrard get on with managing the first team as much as possible but yes, he'd definately be an excellent voice when and if we really wanted/needed a specific message to reach a UK audience.
  13. Ally McCoist is one such person who was directly affected by BBC Scotland when employed by Rangers and has media gumption in spades.
  14. You need ex-players/others who have a level of knowledge of the subject and sufficient media gumption to be able to put points accross and probably field a cross-examination. To simply push forward any Xplayer and give him a line to put accross would end up working against you. To have any hope of success, the whole effort has to be carried out with due care to detail.
  15. Best article on the subject that I've read. Cheers Rick !
  16. Mixed messages from SG since the game, he'd be better concentrating on Kilmarnock. He needs all the players onside or what's left of the season could get messy.
  17. Interesting chat on tic tacs.
  18. I know that is laughable, you know it's laughable but we've got to find a way of convincing a sceptical third party. I think this is where groups/websites not directly connected with the club can help if the expertise is there to put together various short online productions that put forward actual examples.
  19. I thought the Robertson interview was long overdue and needs to be followed up. Too often we've seen a play that is made at a time to appease disgruntled fans that isn't followed-up. #strategy
  20. What does DEFCON 5 look like ? (As Scott pointed out, I take it you mean DEFCON 1) Lay it out in some detail I'm curious because whilst the line may sound good to disgruntled fans, I don't think it realistic unless it has a solid legal base. However, I may be wrong, if you could explain how it would work.
  21. There are areas around the game that you could call corrupt and at various levels Celtic (the PLC and the Celtic-Minded politicos on the fringe who are often indirectly linked with the club, eg. CQN, RTC, SFM, etc) have taken advantage of opportunities this decade and forged a path where they hold sway on most things. A poster on FF (the Gub) once coined the phrase, 'Espanyolification' and it has been proven to be disturbingly accurate. In 2015, when Paul Murray came out with the phrase "building bridges", he was villified by much of our own support (at least online). Understandably, there was little to no appetite for it.... but I said at the time that he was right and we had to get our foot back in the door at various levels of influence and start building our way back. What the more confrontational approach has done is more or less put us where the Celtic-Minded wanted us and made it easy for them to help grow a general off the scale hatred and contempt for us amongst much of Scottish football, rather than only the other side of the City. Since then, a lot of the clubs reaction to events has seemed to be based in what they think the supporters would like to see and hear at the time. However, much of the time there has been little in the way of strategy or even tactics wrt follow-up. Although tbf, I think that has gradually changed in recent times. You can shout about it all you want (the timing is down to the poor reslut at the weekend) but it doesn't change things. The club can only go so far with a confrontational approach, as it will eventually take you to a cliff edge of sorts. The bottomline is that Celtic have taken advantage of the spiv era and now dominate pretty much all areas of Scottish football and our board have to continue to work at the politics with the administrations and BBC Scotland but it's a long game of inches that have to be played with the head in a strategic fashion. As far as the support is concerned, the main thing is the team on the park and that is one area that we can better control. That said, again it's a difficult game of inches due to relative financial constraints.....and Again, it should be about strategy and not ripping it up every summer to start again and getting no-where. Another thing Paul Murray talkd about in April 2015 was the Football Operation' as a whole and the importance of youth development. I said last week that this was the area that had to work if the club was going to make a significant step forward. The more you think about it, the more obvious it is and sooner the better it starts having a major influence. Already Ross McCrorie is leading the way.
  22. I understand what you are saying but best to lose the 'Man City' reference asp and let the guy get one with his development. Young players that come from big clubs seem to have it constantly referred to in the media and by many of the fans and I don't think it does them any good. Bottomline, he'll be a Rangers player come the summer.
  23. In Spain, you tend to use the first surname only outwith more informal events or administration.
