match thread (image) [FT] Hearts 1 - 3 Rangers (Defoe 15; Jack 36; Katic 48)

As it stands, unless there are injuries or a particular tactical switch, the team should stay the same. The last three victories have come against teams that didn't completely park the bus. The chances are Aberdeen will next week and it'll be interesting to see if the management team alter the set-up. Flanagan and Katic should keep their places, no matter the tactics. Katic needs the 4 remaining games to show the manager what he can do. Defoe or Morelos is now more a question of what way you want to set-up. -

I feel for you ! Thought we played very well and looked like a confident team. That's a prile of 3's that includes 2 difficult away venues, Motherwell & Hearts. What we now have to do is get the results against the teams we've had difficulty putting away. Do that and it'll be a tangible positive to take forward. ps. Morelos starts on the bench for me. ps2. Morelos is still suspended next week so hang fire. -

Flanagan deserves to keep his place IMO and I'd play Katic again. We've a poor record against Top 6 sides except Hearts, who so far this season have been our bitches Even Goldson is a prolific goalscorer against them. Looking forward to the game -
Kilmarnock confirm Rangers' ticket allocation will be slashed to one stand

From what I can see, your initial claim is wrong. Yes, our return has increased their average but home crowds have increased accross the board, including against provincial clubs, eg. look at their home crowds for those games in 2019 and then look at them for tha same months in 2017 (pre-Clarke). You are right in saying that stats can and are usually used selectively. What I'd point to with the link you provide is the minimum attendance (which obviously isn't anything to do with our visits to Rugby Park). There you can see a relatively big difference (% of attendance) and if you look at the time periods I refer to above, you'll see that the difference generally applies to most of the games against provincial teams. Your comparison dates back to 2010/11. When Bowie took over and brought Clarke to Kilmarnock, he faced a very different reality to that. We discuss Bowie and the financial risks he is proposing against a difficult reality but seem to forget to actively consider our own situation when it comes to our relative financial reality/risk taking, within the current state of play. -
Went through my head but on balance I thought it was more MRI scans that was our frustrating thing.

Unsurprisingly, the problem would be financial. It's obvious where funds are being directed at the moment and why. The other obvious problem is if the next 2-4 years weren't to go well then that waiting list would most probably vanish or in other words, it would be very dangerous to base such a large investment on a waiting list. I think we'd be better to consider it if and when we get over the immediate on-field hurdle and progress into CL group stages. Another, both on and off-field (financial) aspect to consider is our youth development and a timescale as to when it starts to produce quality first team players.

The Spring & Summer 2019 Transfer Rumours Thread

A bit early for the pessimistic slant on the window that hasn't yet opened. To win the title, what we'll have to be doing with most players we sign, is improve them and put together a team that as a team can compete, rather than a collection of individuals with a pre-ordained glass ceiling. That is one of the reasons I think we shouldn't go for too many old legs on the downside of their career. We need most of the team to have space in which to develop, grow and as per business model, eventually produce a net financial benefit. Souttar and Hastie on a Bosman would, IF we could get them,...fit well with the above criteria. --------------- I don't really understand the Stewart signing but like many others, I guess that's just a personal judgement. What gets me is why not make an effort to get him on loan back in January for effectively, a 5 month trial before giving him a long term contract....Thing is, we also needed a Number 10 at the time. It would have been cheaper than bringing in Davis and on balance given respective match-fitness levels, the specific last third creative requirement at the time and the need for immediate performance, made more sense. -
Pep is Messi dependent and thinking about it,.... Eck was the nearest to bringing the Argentinian King o Fitbaw to Scotland.

It certainly helps the podcast. Derek Parlane is a very good interviewee (heard one a good few years back now).

Like Big Jaws, looking forward to the YD feature. As for Parlane, he was the 'King of Ibrox Park' when I was a lad !.... ⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽

Yes, you both settled down quickly #Fluid What happened to the youth development ?...Under 18s go to extra time / 19th hole ???

Was excellent for a first go Andy Little added insight and real value. Chris Jack sounded more nervous than you at the beginning !!

G has to be for Greig, John Greig

Will be interesting to see how Man City react to the elimination. You also have to question how Spurs will react after such a great result. 11/1 is generous to the point of a cheeky fiver without question but tbh I don't think they'll win. or perhaps a 7/1 Spurs win (Draw No Bet)

It will push Strict Liability down the Sportsound running order unless of course, we are involved.

Just say we have or did have an interest in Shinnie, you'd have arguably the two best midfielders to come out of the UK in the past three decades (Gerrard & Lampard) after him -
Proper Top Proper Boots Proper Baw Proper Player

That had slipped my mind. One of the reasons it looks so good is that it doesn't have a sponsers name on it.

Will save it for later in the day, thanks !!

I'll raise you a thumbs up to the Home and red Away kit. Lose the wishywashy sky bluish in the black top and replace it with white and I'll even go with the black.
