Kilmarnock confirm Rangers' ticket allocation will be slashed to one stand
buster. replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
What Bowie is saying in the latest article has developed from the initial KFC directors message of yesterday, which was..... ... A message from Kilmarnock FC Directors Billy Bowie, Cathy Jamieson and Phyllis McLeish. What has already been an unforgettable season for everyone at Killie still promises so much as we head into the final five weeks of the campaign. Guided by Steve Clarke and Alex Dyer, our squad is challenging at the top end of the Scottish Premiership with the real possibility of breaking last season’s club-record points total. As we continue our 150th Anniversary celebrations, we want to turn our final match of the season on Sunday, May 19 at home to Rangers into a celebration of all things Killie. With this in mind, we as a Board of Directors have made the decision to house Rangers FC supporters solely in the Chadwick Stand with Kilmarnock supporters in the remaining three stands.Moffat Stand season ticket holders will be able to purchase reduced rate tickets for the Moffat Stand, priced Adult £15, Concession (Over 65s, U21s and Students) £10 and U16 £5. Our KCST team will have increased community games and activities on offer in our Family Fan Zone behind the Moffat Stand so get along early and join in the fun.Kilmarnock supporters can buy a ticket for the Frank Beattie, East Stand or Moffat Stand priced Adults £27, Concession (U21, 65+ and Students) £19, U16s £10.This is an all ticket match and home tickets must be purchased in person from The Killie Shop at Rugby Park. All away ticket enquiries should be directed to Rangers FC.Billy Bowie said: “Kilmarnock FC is a family club and we want to make sure Rugby Park is an enjoyable and safe environment for people to enjoy watching football. As promised, we have worked with and listened to feedback from our leading supporters’ groups in a real effort to encourage and inspire the next generation of Killie fans. “After the game we’re encouraging all Killie fans to stay in the stadium and watch one of the most memorable Killie teams in recent memory complete their traditional lap of honour complete with a few words from our manager Steve Clarke.” A date for the start of home tickets sales will be announced in due course. http://www.kilmarnockfc.co.uk/Article?id=8546 ------------------------------------ The development appears to be that Bowie/KFC declare an intention to make it ongoing policy in matches against the OF. It would still be their prerogative but financially it would be akin to putting a large bet on a rank outsider which if in the unlikely scenario you were to win, all you'd do is stand still. Perhaps KFC were looking to see how things went, firstly with ticket sales for the last game of the season and then on the day itself before they made any further decisions but our reply has made him come out with his thoughts now, perhaps not. Optimism on their part to think they can grow and maintain their attendances to a level to make up for 4,000 tickets x 4/3/2 in a season given that Clarke appears to be central to on-field performance and he won't be there forever. Very Scottish fitbaw -

Agreed IMO Hastie is raw but could kick-on to a much better level. I just don't see Stewart being able to cope with the weight of the jersey. -

Looks to me like an opportunist gesture to curry favour with fans at ST renewal time that will ultimately be an empty one. -
I remember that European run well. Starting off by listening to a David Francey commentary from Turin ! Coming back to the subject of value, the lad from Shettleston Juniors scored the first ever winner for an away side in European competition at Eindhoven in more than two decades of trying.. I think we got value for the 200 quid !

Out of order IMO It's Kilmarnocks prerogative and they want to celebrate their 150th anniversary. Respect it and let them get on with it. And if it angers our support that they might miss out why would we then consider not taking up a full allocation in the future ? -

Yes, I presumed from it that you had included Jack and potentially Halliday. I wouldn't really understand trying to sign Coulibally permanently. We need to make some room both physically and financially for some quality. -

In the 70's Inverness often featured in a short pre season at the very end of July (this season saw a competitive fixture on the 12th of July) and Urquhart must have shown up well against us. Whilst he didn't do as well as Russell (extremely difficult ask) he certainly did considerably better than a lot of the more recent expensive cast-offs such as Jeffers, Beattie, Ostenstad and the likes....(Viking Stavanger were another habitual pre-season opponent of that era).

Just to add You have named Arfield, Dorrans, Kamara, McCrorie, Coulibally, Rossiter and Davis. If possible I'd move on Dorrans, Coulibally, Rossiter and Davis. You just can't depend on Dorrans and Rossiter (injuries) Coulibally hasn't done enough to make us try and extend loan. The finance involved in a contract for Davis should go towards 'dominant enforcer' and creative No.10. McCrorie is a case in point regards younger players and if they can do a job as a regular first-team player. Can he keep improving and take on the role of 'enforcer' now ? -

Midfield Required: Dominant type enforcer and creative Number 10 (if Stewart does sign, I'd see him as a back-up option to a better player). We need a player who has drive and leadership, as well as ability. IMO these two positions need to be part of the 'improving the quality'. -
When it comes to the issue at hand, we signed up to it. Until we receive the judgement of this current hearing, we won't know exactly where on the scale of positive/negative that stands. And even then, I'd put money on an appeal being lodged by whoever loses. Beyond that, what grates me is how obvious the M.O. of Mr.MASH (from 2011/12 to 2015) hasn't played by the rules on a number of issues. TBF, it was obvious to Justice Peter Smith, a man who had done his homework.

In a normal world, if someone advocates genocide then unless they fully retract, it darkly clouds anything further they have to say on the matter. @Scott7

The Spring & Summer 2019 Transfer Rumours Thread

There were always liable to be teething problems in SG&Co's first season in first team management. More especially at a club that if it wants to be successful has very little margin for error. The vital thing going forward is that they have learnt from it and can improve on a number of issues. Firstly, the summer transfer window has to be our best in recent memory. That doesn't mean we have to spend more than all other recent transfer windows, it means that the players brought are able to function consistently in whatever shapes and starting line-ups chosen by the management #Synergy I sometimes go on about veterans but it's not either veterans or youth. I fully accept both are required,...it's about the balance and bringing in experience that doesn't arrive with a significant injury history and isn't too far down the downward slope. There are never guarantees but you have to play the percentages. You talk of Arfield, Dorrans and Davis for next season. I'd suggest it not wise to depend on their bodies to hold up or give us what we need to get to where we want to be. Arfield has had an excellent season and perhaps he can have another. With him I just hope that this seasons efforts don't end up catching up with him next season. -
The club (via chairman) would be negligent not to strike an optimistic tone and as you say it's pretty much par for the course. I think there is a factual base to most of it and as always, the key, we hope the money invested in players is done wisely with positive results. To get to where we want to go next season, we'll need a near perfect transfer window this summer. All of us want to end up at the same place and one non-negotiable en route is for the ST numbers to stay at a high level. The support has been amazing in the last few years and numbers keep going up. It's something that is seldom if ever commented on in the media, they are too busy looking for negatives.

The Juventus v Ajax tie is interesting,...a cynical old Lady taking on dashing but inexperienced legs. I recall a CL final between these two in 1996, the De Boer twins started and Porrini was on the bench. Juventus won on penalties. The only nation worse than the Italians on penalties being the Dutch....which leads into the fact that you had 9 Italians starting for Juventus and 8 Dutch for Ajax. Changed rules and changed days, last weeks 1st leg had 3 Italians starting for Juve and 5 Dutch for Ajax. The 3 foreigner rule had it's downside but at least it helped there be more competition. A talented young Ajax side had won the CL in 1995. ps. Man Utd are humped !

Coming from the poster who has stated genocide for the Palestinian people would be acceptable. With that base, the highfalutin talk means little to nothing........

Fair enough !!.....but in mitigation I would say that Russell was signed at a time when there wasn't much in the way of signings from the Juniors. I think he's pretty much the only player since the mid 70's to come from the Juniors and do really well. That 200 pound fee came at a time when yjere were no Bosmans and we were spending 100,000 on Cooper, 65,000 on Smith.

For me the litmus test for Davis is to be able to control the midfield against Celtic at Ibrox. -
First name that came to mind was Bobby Russell at 200 pounds sterling from Shettleston Harriers IIRC.

Yes he does but starting him at Kilmarnock in January was a bad error. Filling a team with experience is one thing, filling it with quality is another. Too many of the veterans we sign are past their sell by date and end up injured or offering relatively little. Past quality ain't any use to use, eg. we got Davis and Defoe to try and maintain and increase the challenge this season, it backfired. McCrorie should have played at Rugby Park, not Davis. -
The injury was obviously why he didn't get the chance to hit the dizzy heights he seemed headed toward. Obviously no fault of his.
