The Spring & Summer 2019 Transfer Rumours Thread
buster. replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
I'd send those who have played a lot of football on holiday after this weekend. It's a short close season, give them an extra week to recover. Shagger (suspended anyway, Tav, Goldson, Jack, Arfield, Morleos and Candeias Starting XI for Kilmarnock ? Foderingham Polster Worrell (or youth) Katic Halliday Davis McCrorie Kelly Kent Defoe Middleton -

I think she's certainly getting something. -
HT Falkirk 1-2 Rangers Celtic 0-1 St.Johnstone As it stands Rangers 38pts (GD +27) Hibs 35pts (GD +27) Celtic 35pts (GD +22) Hibs have completed their fixtures and their numbers are final but could still win it if both us & them lose.

Polster should get 90 minutes against Kilmarnock. Tav has played god knows how many minutes this season. Would give fans the chance to treat Mrs Polster to a Killie Ice cream. She loves one, so she does......... -

Quite amazing that another referee sent off two Rangers players and only one from Celtic. It's almost as if the Mason conspiracy was a load of shite.

1977 Scottish Cup Final According to referee Bob Valentine, Derek Johnstone allegedly and very briefly, stood in for Stewart Kennedy. This led to a penalty that meant Celtic won the trophy. Now this is confusing given that all referees were/are apparently Masons and Rangers supporters, who wouldn't give Celtic the time of day. I can remember watching the game on TV. Before it ended I had angrily grabbed my ball and went to blast it repeatedly off a wall.
-
Just to add, I think man-management becomes more important in the play-offs. The only guy to have won something is Bielsa, so I'll go against the odds and take Leeds.
-
I reckon the end of the regular season can be a psychological stop, think and go again. Hence the play-off mind-set tends to be different and momentum from what has gone before often goes out of the window.
-
Absolute no-brainer, I don't think it's even a debate.
-
To a degree, fair enough but what I don't think editorially consistent at PQ is to suddenly forget about the race for second, how convincingly it has been won and pass it off as if it were never a thing via the now repeated tactic of ,...just ignore it. Or for that matter, not to even mention our game played the same day.

Wee comment on McGregor. If he thinks he can get away with what he did in the age of muchos camaras and compliance then he really should know better. Even if the officials had missed it and he stayed on the park, he'd have been cited and suspended. McNulty is an annoying bastard but that's football. I thought Morelos as our disciplinnary problem was bad enough. but now we have two. I reckon he'll get 3 games (2, +1 for 2nd red) and be out of our first league game next season. -
Looked off the pace in his brief appearence yesterday. Defoe stays ahead of him in pecking order iMO Although the question becomes......... How will SG&Co set-up for the OF match ?

Very much so ! When we were playing some decent stuff in the first half, the ball went out to Flanagan in acres of space but he couldn't take advantage because of his lack of a footballing left foot. Put a firing Barasic into that role and you either have a dangerous ball going into the box or Hibs with a man on him and more space in the middle. -
I think there is a lot of frustration there rather than unhappiness and it's understandable. What will be important is that he gets the backing he feels he needs to be able to compete for next years title. He has alluded to this on more than one occasion, effectively challenging the board.

Agreed MacK ! We've moved foward. The fact we are 14 points ahead of 3rd means DK's 'a strong second' is in the bag. That is a significant distance and takes us away from what were a couple of years of provincial club like finishes. I'd add the progress at youth development level with the caveat of it means relatively little until we see more of them in and around the first team. Looking forward, recruitment is now key. Thinking about the team, rather than individuals. We haven't the cash to buy wonderful players in today's inflated market and players who used to be wonderful would be of limited value.

For the record, the Sunday Sportsound podcast didn't even mention that Rangers were playing Hibs, never mind providing the score, report, etc. Editorial cut and run before FT ? First time I can remember that happening. They did manage to talk about the race for 3rd place between Aberdeen and Kilmarnock for a while without mentioning that the previous race for 2nd place had been won by Rangers by a double digit point count (currently 14 points). Monday Sportsound prediction - Very brief mention of Rangers 5 wins IAR / convincing second place - Much more time spent on the McGregor red card / continuing discipline issues / unconvincing last half hour - Will start the 'Will Morelos get a red card on Sunday' feature - Above won't last long as the programme will mostly be about Celtic
