  1. At the end of the day, players are only worth what other clubs are prepared to pay. On another note, good to see Josh McPake on the plane to Portugal.
  2. We'll start our League camapign against a team with a longtime No.2 taking on the main role, albeit at a much smaller club. Let's hope the Italian has a very bad start. I think the difficulty we had in putting together a decent and interested short list post Caixinha, makes GaryMac more likely to be at least considered if he were to show any interest, within the scenario I painted earlier in the thread. You look at the other side of the City and despite recent success, bank balances and all the rhetoric, they certainly appeared to struggle regards attracting a decent manager.
  3. Sounds like a Management consultancy of sorts..... (reminds me of Del Bosque at Madrid before he got the main gig for a prolonged spell) Why do you think that would that make him so unsuitable ? He has coached before but regardless, we are speculating about a management position.
  4. What does Gary Mac actually do then ?
  5. Of course Gary Mac is there to assist SG, just as Walter Smith was there to assist Souness. I don't think you can be so absolutely certain in football. If the DoF has such a list, I'd expect Gary Mac to be on it. The scenario I could see Gary Mac being seriously considered is along the following lines ......... we win title this coming season mid table EPL club come in for SG and he goes GMac seen as best person to carry on the good work GMac has choice between No.2 with SG or No.1 at Ibrox Obviously it's only pretty wild speculation and not to be taken too seriously.
  6. If SG was to one day get an offer he couldn't refuse, does Gary Mac take over managerial duties ? I reckon that's what the club would consider as first option.
  7. Very difficult to say much about Edmundson at this stage. For me, I'm glad that he's our player and not on loan, like Worrall. IMO we are still behind them in terms of squad depth/quality and still have work to do this transfer window.
  8. Agreed, we really need to take advantage of Home advantage in the first OF fixture. If seeding goes to plan, we won't have an EL QR4 match to play....(Lot's of If's and but's !) Last year we started very well in Europe but run out of gas during August, not only at Parkhead but conceding last minute equalizers at Aberdeen and Motherwell on the back of Thursday night EL games. 9. Back to EL Qualifying............ How provisional EL qualifying dates would fit in with League fixtures Obviously the following League/Betfred Cup games would be getting moved to the Sunday (not reflected in dates below) Aug 1st... EL 2nd Rd. 2nd leg ...(provisionally away in Ireland, Wales or Luxembourg) Aug3rd... Killie (A) Aug 8th...EL 3rd Rd. 1st leg Aug10th..Hibs (H) Aug15th..EL 3rd Rd. 2nd leg Betfred Cup Last 16 Aug22nd.. EL 4th Rd. 1st leg Aug24th..St.Mirren (A) Aug29th..EL 4th Rd. 2nd leg Aug 31st..Celtic (H)
  10. Translated: No answer because you haven't got one that would make sense. Bombastic logic is all very well but when it can be blown away in a sentence or two, it's shown up for what it is.
  11. Take away football supporters and their perception of an identity (that fuels loyalty) and you have no football, at least as we know it. You say you can merge teams into a UK XI and that it would be hysterical nonsense to protest about losing identity because it's only football. How would you see a merger between Rangers and Celtic football teams ?

  13. A film set in 2019 would have Compo hacking into the software that controls the random spew. His bid to boost his biscuit fund by selling the info to a Scottish media outlet being met by desperate efforts from dark establishment power..............
  14. IMO if we really want to challenge, we have to win the first three going into the OF match. We can't let the same old pattern of falling behind them straight away. We need to edge ahead and exert pressure on them and their manager.
  15. 26th and his Crystal Baws Very good, they got a bit misty 3 weeks in but then Michael Fish didn't know what was happening the same night.
  16. First Five Killie (A) Hibs (H) St.Mirren (A) Celtic (H)........... (31 August) Likely to be moved to 1st September Livingston (H) Ambitious but I think we really need all 15 points to well and truly lay down the preverbial marker. First round of fixtures has a reasonable balance Home to Hibs, Celtic and Aberdeen Away to Kilmarnocjk and Hearts. 17. A proposal to merge Rangers and Celtic into Glasgow United for a potential UK League was met by widespread hysterical nonsense yesterday despite valiant efforts by some to tell them it was only fitbaw. ...
  18. One year extension to add onto the year he had left. He's the same age (19) as David Turnbull. Would he get a game for Motherwell if he went out on loan ? @elfideldo
  19. I'm reading in my coffee beans that it'll be Easter Road, Ibrox, Livingston, Ibrox and Perth. What it won't throw-up this year is Dundee, Hamilton, Cork !!
  20. Growth sector / profile / sell mare taps. Makes sense for a club the size of Thistle. Next up will be a film where their ex-mascot, Kingsley turns into a serial killer of Glasgows LBGT community but is caught by Taggart, played by John Lambie's Ghost.
  21. Not the member of staff you'd have thought to talk about a young player and the choosing of contracts. Injured at 21 and never really recovered. Not to mention the clubs he was involved with (Turnbull may do them in a different order) Taken from his wiki page.... On 14 July 2008, BBC Sport reported that Kennedy had joined Motherwell on a six-month loan deal,[21] but this report was denied by Celtic later that day.[22] Kennedy did, however, meet up with the Motherwell squad in Austria, on trial. Soon afterwards Kennedy joined Norwich City on loan until January 2009.[23]
  22. Simply another layer of (costly) controversy. If you have sub-standard officials then VAR won't deliver what it purports on the tin.
  23. Given an improved Co-eff place in the table, Scotland's Cup winners will go in at EL QR2 in 2020/21. Access points depend on national co-eff place, not the individual club numbers. Access List for this season (includes Scotland's co-eff 26th place) https://kassiesa.home.xs4all.nl/bert/uefa/AccessList2019.html Our improved position at the end of season 2018/19 is now 20th and this will be used to deteremine access points for 20/21. https://kassiesa.home.xs4all.nl/bert/uefa/data/method5/crank2019.html
