  1. It was an absolutely fucking useless service so delighted we stopped giving them money for it. How much paperwork from the deal do we think survived the last days of the old regime? I'd imagine the shredders were working overtime ahead of the AGM that ousted the old board.
  2. Grauniad's take on the banker story: http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/jan/09/mike-ashley-sports-direct-15m-jeff-blue Up yeez, fatty!
  3. Part of the reason Warburton was appointed was because of his ability to scout undervalued players and improve them. Seems odd that some complain when he starts trying to do that. Short of Dave King discovering he can keech diamonds, like you, I'm not sure what the alternative is.
  4. To be fair, Commons does look increasingly huge.
  5. Are any transfer windae-related stories likely to be 'huge'? Seems unlikely.
  6. Happy new year folks. Here's to a good 2016 on the pitch and lively about it debate on here. Nursing an arse of hangover after a fellow bear's wedding in London last night.
  7. Says what I've been telling folk for years. That Stein line about football being the safety valve for west coast sectarianism is completely is arse about face. If it wasn't for the chants at football, sectarianism in Scotland would barely register. Iraq has a sectarian problem: it cheapens the term to apply it to what is, at heart, an over-excitable football fan problem.
  8. i'm not going to dismiss the kid because of where he's playing (or bench warming) for the moment. He was considered a good prospect until quite recently: who knows, maybe he just doesn't fit into Doncaster's preferred formation. Clearly a good amount of research has gone into this and MW knows him. We're not just trawling the subs bench of the lower leagues in England on spec. On the point about unearthing talent from that level, Jonathan Wilson was saying interesting things about this when talking about Delli Alli's emergence. He said he knew Spurs were keeping tabs on several young players and, whilst Alli had had a good in the cup against Man United which might have moved him ahead of the others, just had to take a punt in one of them and went for Alli. That seems to suggest there's a players with good potential at that level. Vardy and Alli are the stand outs for lower league recruitment but Arter at Bournemouth was playing for Woking before Bournemouth picked him up and he's streets ahead of any midfielder in Scotland at the moment. None of that means we should just chuck money at Barnsley or Stockport for their cast offs. But MW knows that market and one of main selling points was identifying and developing young talent. Seems daft to get too worked up when he tries to do that.
  9. Should have thought of that before putting the boot in then, fannybaws. I've yet to hear anyone of them say 'What's been done to that old club is an absolute outrage'
  10. If the scarf turns out to be unlucky, just send it to me. I only get up for a couple of games a season so, if it's mine, I'll only be able to jinx 6 points worth of games. Less if it's warm and I go scarfless. You know it makes sense.
  11. Was hardly the most robust denial about interest in Greg Stewart: "don't do our business in public, won't talk about another manager's players, he's a very talented lad, one of many we've been linked with."
  12. Judge appears to swatted aside the case with the contempt it deserved. Tough titties, fatso.
  13. Regret? Oh aye, everything was just dandy until King turned up. Fuckwit.
  14. More? You think our current loanees are duds?
  15. "what part don't you understand...?":D
  16. It sounds like Fulham tested the water and were told by all concerned to do one. I can imagine it would have appealed to him if it had come up in summer but he's too early in the process to leave us just yet. I did have fears about his wife androids nagging him into submission and am relieved they've not been realised. And Gary Neville to Valencia? How in the name of feck did that happen?
  17. Quite. Can't see why Easdale would bother.
  18. In the bit of London where I live, the genuine locals (the few left) call it a gypsy's (gypsy's kiss).
  19. I'm not sure what your point is. Is it a swipe at those with unquestioning allegiance to the new regime? Another swipe at Craig from SoS's integrity? Something else entirely?
  20. If there's one thing I'm taking from this unedifying thread, it's to use 'Colin Nish' as rhyming slang. Thanks: I'll endeavour to work it into conversation on a regular basis. As for the rest of it? Total Colin Nish.
  21. The great hope is that that Green's relationship with Ashley will finally be revealed and the whole fetid shambles will be revealed to properly corrupt. The concern is that no smoking gun is revealed and it appears Chuck was acting on his own initiative when gifting Ashley club assets for luncheon vouchers--Ashley's a prick but not an idiot after all (Chuckles and company do appear to be idiots as well as pricks). If that's the case, what happens? We carry on boycotting anything likely to benefit the fat fuck whilst buying Lion Brand or whatever products whilst we wait for the seven year term to expire? Hope he gets bored and fucks off? Doubt he'll do that as he seems to be the sort of tedious arsehole who regards doing business as a trial of virility, clearly compensating for not being attractive to women, or secretly fancying men or his mum or some such. He's making it personal.
  22. That is rather what I was alluding to. Virtual sarcasm is evidently something I've yet to master.
  23. The idea that a clause covering you for legal costs in cases related to your duty as an exec of the club should extend criminal prosecutions for ripping the club off is so outrageous I'm amazed it got as far as it did. In some ways, you've got to admire his chutzpah for trying it on but that was not something Chuckles is short of. I'd imagine MASH will find it within itself to cough up for the his costs. Can't imagine why that fat prick would want to do that, mind you Edit. I've just found this emoticon and now seems like an appropriate time to use it. Mike Ashley and Charles Green, you're a pair of
  24. When has he shown any inclination to fight for anything since his arrival?
