  1. I honestly don't have a clue this time around. I've drawn the Republic of Ireland in the office sweepstake so that's one I'll not mind losing. England look decent and a lot less unlikeable than they have for a long time (although it's relative: it's still England, ffs! As you can see, I remain a fully paid up member of the anyone but England club. It's the oldest rivalry in international football and I at least will be trying to keep it going). But don't think they've got enough to win it. Some decent forwards, midfield's ok but not absolutely top draw and defence looks iffy. But then nobody's looking flawless. Player-for-player, the French probably look the strongest, . But their full backs are ordinary, they're missing their preferred centre back pairing, and they're France so almost inevitably doomed to undo their talent with complete flakiness. Spain and Germany are in transition. Italy look average. Is the Belgian defence good enough? Portugal, if they can keep CR7 fit and firing? The World Cup goes to one of the usual suspects but the Euros often throws up a surprise.
  2. Didn't we already know this?
  3. Strike one. You get five more and you're fired.
  4. He can't directly control everything. But he's certainly responsible for putting in place a business model that relies on flogging the keech out of casualised labour. And he's responsible for a management culture that treats people in such a way that they're so scared to miss work they end up in ambulances or giving birth in the khazi.
  5. I know it's a significant drop in standard from the EPL but Taylor was arguably the weakest link in a defence made entirely of weak links.
  6. Thought Strachan was pottering along ok. Some good performances in the qualifiers. The team was looking solid, if unspectacular. But that Georgia game and the failure to qualify seems to have undone all the progress. He/the team need a decent performance pronto if we're not to be back at Burley or Vogts levels of despondency. Can't see us making the world cup given the qualifying group but we'll need to come out of it with some cause for optimism.
  7. If it imposes liability on the home club for the away fans' behaviour, that's almost an incentive for the away fans to act up, isn't it?
  8. My money's on any one from the following: Rod Petrie, Stewart Regan, Peter Lawell, one of The Proclaimers, the other one of The Proclaimers, or Chic Charnley

  10. Do they just feed him vodka and stick a dictaphone in front of him? If Halliday was able to comfortably outclass Brown, I doubt Barton's losing much sleep. Still, all about the Rangers with Hartson, isn't it?
  11. A complete whomperc*nt. Best ignored.
  12. how many of those has he not been dreadful in? Barely kicked his own erse whilst at Ibrox and would probably either have missed or dislocate something if he tried.
  13. Police got complacent. Prioritised catching bears singing naughty songs about papes.
  14. I don't know. I do think about lesbians a lot.
  15. No surprise. Best of luck to the lad but onwards and upwards.
  16. To be fair, if I was on twitter I probably would too.
  17. Sorry but that's nonsense. Halliday was barely able to get his passes in the postcode he was aiming for. GZ's passing was good though wasn't helped by the lack of movement from others. Honestly forgot Holt was on the pitch for much of the game.
  18. Beg to differ. I thought he was the only one who actually took care of the ball. Passing and effort from midfield was dreadful apart from him. If he did check inside, it's probably because McKay and Wallace were so far behind the play. There were certainly times when we were too narrow but we were pretty garbage when we got it wide anyway. Been critical of him this season but thought he put a decent shift in yesterday. Really bad day at the office for too many players
  19. Disappointing end to a decent season and annoying to miss Europe. But, Zelalem aside, we were fucking mince. Got what we deserved.
  20. This is now looking dangerously like some form of collective mental illness.
  21. At a guess, because it took time to be sure of the legal ground; because of the different rules in the football league; and because the club probably guess that Fatso has other things on his plate, with relegation and getting the manager and squad sorted as well as his select committee stand-off
  22. But we've only withdrawn the IP from the deal, haven't we. In other words, don't we still have a merchandising deal with SD through RRL but it doesn't extend to badges etc. So SD can't sell a shirt with the Rangers badge on it but we can't sign that over to anyone else either. I can see how it renders RRL and the SD contract valueless but we can't sell our shirts either. So either fatty renegotiates or the team take to the field in plain blue shirts.
  23. That's what it looks like to me. So is this a bargaining ploy to get the existing contract renogotiated or a genuine 'get tae fuq, fatty'?
  24. Wow. Wasn't expecting that. Newcastle's relegation enabled it? Who are the commercial partners referred to in the statement?
  25. You can pretty safely say we'll not be bringing players of the quality of those mentioned.
