Turning shame into success: Rangers v Celtic

Player ratings: Miller 7 Everybody else 0 -
it looked an orange card from where I was standing. Couldn't have had too many complaints if he'd walked for it. The Lustig handball looked like it would've been harsh. Didn't look deliberate and his hand couldn't be said to be in an unnatural position . Of course, if Waghorn could shot straight, it wouldn't have mattered. He's make a good storm trooper

It's available through the apple podcast app, though usually a bit later than acast. There's and H&H you can listen through too. I prefer it to WATP.

Everything is a must, unfortunately, but we'll have to prioritise. Sorting the midfield and adding a competent striker have to be the first priorities, IMHO.
-
Clearly no quick fixes: we're not spanking vast sums so patience is required. Agree that the spine is an issue. Central defence has looked more solid in the last few months but the midfield, which did so well last year, has been all over the place. Up front, I'd say our conversion rate is laughable, except I'm not laughing one bit. A centre back (especially if Hill goes) a couple of good signings in midfield, plus a striker who can actually fucking strike would make us a different prospect, IMHO. Might not be enough to overhaul Sporting Leprechaun but would run them a lot closer. Is it realistic for us to spend on three or four signings?

With all that's wrong with the team and such limited resources to address it, keeping Miller seems an absolute no-brainer. He's clearly not the the future, but he's reliable, fit, intelligent and committed. Keeping him buys us a bit more time to focus on sorting the fucking shambles of a midfield out and finding another striker who knows how to score (Martin, it's the big net in front of you. You're supposed to put the round, bouncy thing into it. Give it a try).

Midfield in the first half was just embarrassing and I'll be disappointed if I see Garner start another game. Waghorm worked hard but his inability to finish has gone beyond a joke.

Horrible. No age to go at all.

Rooney: Aberdeen could have been League Leaders

We'd have won the champions league if it wasn't for those other teams who were better than us. Dumbest football filler of the season? -
King insists Rangers can rely on youth

"Youth's structure's in decent nick and Pedro will have money to add to the team" turns into "Rangers won't splash the cash and forced to rely on youth":wtf: -

Aberdeen 0 - 3 Rangers (Miller 79, 81; Dodoo 83)

Hearts have given a proper shoeing on both trips to Tynecastle. Far more impressive on their day than Aberdeen but all about consistency. -
Quite. They had the better of the second half, we had the better of the first and should really have gone 2-0 up. The penalty claim is desperately trying to an issue of something that wasn't. Apart from Garner behaving like a fanny, the main issue of controversy wasn't the penalty but the red card that never was for Ryan Jack's studs-up, feet off the ground lunge at Holt.

not a chance. If we're comparing perceived injustices, they should have played 70 mins with 10 men. -

A thunderbastard from Dodoo would have been a very satisfying end to the game. Probably played worse than last visit but don't care! Give him his contract! -

If that's not a red, what is? Wading in with a fucking machete? -
Up until now you've seen nothing of PC at all.

That's pretty much my point. A midfielder or two with some dig, dynamism and enough quality on the ball to move it to more creative players and a striker who could find the net without the aid of a satnav and we'd look a different prospect. Chuck in an authoritative centre back (especially if Hill moves on) and I think we're a very different prospect.
-
That's just mental "That prick hasn't transformed the bunch of mediocre players with no heart that he inherited into a bunch of world beaters inside two games. He's a dud".
-
We don't have the funds to punt eight or ten players and replace them, at least not with players of a suitable quality. I still maintain that a reliable goalscorer (or more than one) would have made us far better off points-wise as our conversion rate is an absolute fucking disaster. Certainly we've given away daft goals but the strike rate is what's killed us. That said, it might have been papering over the cracks a bit. But if you add to that some real drive and dynamism in midfield--a player who can dominate space, win the ball and move it forward swiftly and well--and I think we'd look a totally different side. So, if we've got the funds for three or four new faces of a step up in quality, we've got the basis for the rest of the team to coalesce around, IMHO.
-
First half we look toothless up front and leaky at the back. That said, it's the midfield that concerns me most. Beerman and Bates looked ok though.
-
He's certainly worth another season. Fit, versatile, committed, reliable.

Honestly, I'd still take him. But can't see us paying him enough and can't see him going to Partick.
