They are in the process of turning it around and it won't be finished anytime soon.

At the moment it is about learning, steadily improving, bedding in new players and tactics, learning some more, steadily improving, building a squad over several transfer windows, steadily improving and in about 12-18 months down the road I'd hope we get to a point where we have turned it round.

Let's hope they stay at Ibrox and are not tempted away  .

  2. Is it not about time the club opened a shop in Glasgow city centre again with Christmas coming up to sell the new kit and all the other Rangers stuff ,there a nice empty shop across from the subway at Saint Enoch  Square just waiting to be filled with Rangers merchandise.

You have to ask the question whether EL group stage will be good for Rangers. While we need the money, I think we will struggle to meet our league ambitions with such a thin squad if we have to play Thursday-Sunday for weeks on end. On the other hand, if we accept it will take at least a couple of seasons to be fully competitive then perhaps EL football will only help develop our players and attract new signings. It's a hard call.

I suppose if we get through it will depend on who we draw with luck it might be an hour's flight from Glasgow or it could be teams from the back of beyond .

I of course know what you mean when you say it was a "man's game", but for me that's just a euphemism for those players that had little skill and just relied on their willingness to hurt someone.  For me, thankfully football began to protect its skilful players, although these days I agree that too many just fall over at the slightest hint of a touch from an opponent.  The balance is somewhere in between, and I'm glad that we had some of that balance restored during the World Cup.  I'd like to see video evidence being used retrospectively to punish cheats because that's the problem in our game now.

Some of the most skillfull players I ever seen where also some of the dirtiest bees you ever set eyes on off the park they where pussycats.

  5. Will be watching Manchester play Spurs on Sunday reports are saying the special one has lost the dressing room  yesterday I was listening to an interview with former Leicester and Arsenal centre Alan Smith and he was praising big Jock when he was manager at Leicester now there's a man who never lost a dressing room .

  6. Used to be a fixture you would look forward to when the steelmen had players like Quinn and  St John  later our very own Davie Cooper plating for them but these days it's like an Aberdeen match with players coming out injured by some wild tackles ,that doesn't bother me I am old as I say it was a man's game in my day if someone went over the top  you got him back in the next fixture with a bit added for good measure we didn't cry like children and our fans didn't moan like old women but we remembered that player and gave him the bird in the next game not these days to many Jessies on the pitches so we will have to be solid in the tackle on Sunday  but as clean as a virgins knickers and not even give a dirty look as the referees as we know will give us nothing it will be tight that's why I say we will win two goals to one ..
