Listening to one of the English women last week going on about them having a good world cup and that should help them get parity with the men then another one who reckons because they're women the pitch should be smaller and smaller goals as women are not as big as men and playing eighty minutes with a longer half time period.

I used to help a friend who ran amateur teams back in the 70s though to the mid 80s and quite a few lads came from Celtic boys club and I used to think these boys just had a grudge but it was the same names coming up all the time and it wasn't the ones convicted so far  but I don't think there will be any more investigation which makes me very angry

One thing that crossed my mind was that for the young Chinese school kids, the name Steven Gerrard won't mean a great deal, unless they start trawling youtube or the like. How time moves on.

In the beginning the strip changed quite a bit plain white , we had hoops  then we settled into what is accepted as our traditional colours were now 147 years down the line surely it's time for change me personally I would bin the socks maybe even adopt an almost all blue first team kit sure its good to reminisce look back at glory years but I prefer to look to the future look around you at the next home game and look at the very young fans the future fans they have never seen a title or a cup win ,its time for an all round change out with the old and in with the new
