Team huffed and puffed really but lacked imagination and tempo. Too many midfielders and attacking players not doing their bit.

They kept going though and turned the game round where we could easily have felt sorry for ourselves.

To many of the same type trying to do the same thing and none of them doing it well plus I think we need a bit of muscle in the middle but we got the points so it wasn't a disaster

Still cant believe the boy hasnt been wacked.

Either Southampton will come back and win about 8 games or the boy is gone.

    Ridiculous score.

Compo / Scott - elders - you have seen worse.

Even as a fan it's hard to get over a drubbing it took me a while to get over the 69 cup final drubbing the disappointment was so bad I walked on to the running track at half time told a policeman I was feeling unwell and he let  me out recent drubbings at the hands of Celtic are easier to take due the the gulf in managers and players on the park , back to 69 I went to work on the Monday and paid off three what I would call bitter Tim's then took the rest of the day off .?

I haven’t looked at your scores, compo. Let’s see what we agree.

    Southampton 1-2 Leicester

City 3-2 Villa. (Wouldn’t mind seeing that one.)

    Brighton 2-0 Everton

    Watford 2-2 Bournemouth

    Hammers 2-1 Blades

    Burnley 1-2 Chelsea

*Newcastle 1-1 Wolves  (Wouldn’t mind going 70 years back in a time machine to see that one)

    Arsenal 2-1 Palace

    Liverpool 3-1 ‘Spurs

    Norwich 0-2 United

    * The 1949/50 Football League was won by Portsmouth on 53 points beating Wolves on goal average. Sunderland were third on 52,  Manchester Utd fourth on 50 and Newcastle fifth also on 50. Arsenal and Blackpool were next trailing the champions by a distant 4 points.

    Some competition!

Wolves were a great team back then good manager in Stan Cullis with players like Wright,  Shorthouse Jesse Pye at centre and Bert Williams in goal as you would say a proper football team.

  4. Here we go?

Man city 3 Aston Villa 0

    Brighton 1 Everton 1

    Watford 1 Bournemouth 1

West ham 2 Sheffield United 1

    Burnley 0 Chelsea 2

    Newcastle 1 Wolverhampton 2

    Arsenal 2 crystal palace 0

    Liverpool 1 Spurs 1

    Norwich 0 man United 2
