And sometimes with penalty clauses that might even increase the amount paid I would say these people who are responsible are not fit for purpose this could be very costly and damaging. 

I don't know who signs these contracts but in my day contracts were binding.

On the other hand, perhaps Beale (and a new coaching team's) influence may be greater than that of Gerrard who had looked similarly disinterested? Cannot underestimate how vital this appointment and player recruitment is for the medium/longer term aspirations of the club.
