I think Ryan Jack has been the best Rangers midfielder of recent years and had hoped his recent extended run in the team signalled a return to fitness. However, this latest news, ahead of a possible contract renewal, has to mean an end to his Rangers career. Sadly, there's now no choice but to let him go.

A pity about Jack he’s been our top player in my old opinion when playing, hard to replace

    Agreed.

It does not matter what you, or any Rangers fan, say. IMO no Rangers orientated person should entertain the BBC ever!. Nothing will change their agenda regarding Rangers!. I personally don't see the point, and should be told why!.

Sometimes you have to get someone behind enemy lines

If you were a shareholding director with privileged access to new allotments of shares ... AND you were privy to information about a prospective offer to buy Rangers, knowing that such an offer would almost certainly value the club at more than 25p per share, then wouldn't you be keen to top up your personal shareholding too? I know I would.

Insider information is that above board

  4. When I watch City it reminds me of the way good teams used to play football before all these so called tactical geniuses started fannying about with tactics.

Ten outfield players the right side of the ball facing the opposing side going forward at speed playing one twos players moving off the ball using the abundant space to move their opponents out of position and using that space to punish the opposing side.

Footie is a simple game made hard with tactics

Chelsea have just signed a 16 year old from Ecuador, Brighton were knocking back 60 million for thier 21 y/o midfielder Moisés Caicedo in January. They have another young winger called Jeremy Sarmiento who they have high hopes for. Frankfurt have just signed Wilson Pacho who we were linked with from Antwerp.

The trend is that good young players are coming out of Ecuador, not saying we should scout there intensively as its clear other clubs have beaten us to the punch there but lets not discount them. We signed Grezda from Croatia and he was a waster. I suppose its about being open to anything.

Given the state Chelsea are in I wouldn’t use that as any form of encouragement

  6. What a player always worth the admission money but now he’s getting a little criticism in some of today’s papers for saying he became a tad aroused when he had his arm around the great lady Thatcher, yes a true character sadly a thing missing from today’s game .

Sent unexpectedly this afternoon on an unexpected, tedious errand, I thought I’d give Sportsound a go to follow the fortunes of the Famous. The last time I heard a fragment of a commentary was December 2019. Today was just dreadful. There was no bias against Rangers. Indeed from time to time the summariser, Craiggen? Craggen?  - him, anyway - remarked that Rangers were playing quite well but whoever was doing the commentary was hopeless completely failing to describe play as they chatted learnedly about this and that. e.g. the summariser in all seriousness told me what St Mirren had to do, was get the ball, keep it and get it up into the Rangers box. I could work that out for myself. They rarely bothered to say where the ball actually was unless there was a likely shot at goal. My mission accomplished, I did not remain with them for the second half.

To find out if I am living hopelessly in the past when Peter Thomson liked to give what he called a sound picture of the game, a tradition ably carried on by Francey, Alexander and Begg, I listened to a bit of the R5 commentary City v Leicester. There it was. The sound picture. The commentator telling me where play was, who was in possession, the markers, runners, tacklers, the whole lot.

Sportsound is useless. Never mind the bias, the snarkiness and the bheggar adulation. They can’t even do the basics.

Thompson was never the same commentator after Stein dragged him into a room at Parkhead for a good ear bashing and it worked because next time it was all , Jinky Buzz Bomb and Wispy to name but a few
