  1. Why do you think that? Messi is the greatest player of all time and is as good as he ever was. Focusing on Ronaldo, what possible argument could you make for him being superior to Messi? There is no doubt whatsoever that Messi makes a far more significant contribution outside the box, and inside the box he's scored 18 more goals this season. Suarez - main striker and has 17 less than Messi. Hazard - fantastic player and the best player after Messi, but crucially...after Messi.
  2. Nail on head. He was one of the better players in one of the worst sides we've ever had. So what? We need a root and branch clear out next season.
  3. English football let us down tonight again. After the recent Spanish and German games football was on a real high. Both of those matches were just superb.
  4. With regards to Miller, I just hope he isn't a first team regular next season.
  5. Lafferty has scored 7 goals in his last three seasons of club football. That's not unreliable, it's embarrassing.
  6. Lol! Did you see El Classico tonight? He's the best player in the world and nobody is fit to lace his boots.
  7. This is a pretty mediocre Celtic side, but they're miles ahead of us. At the end of the day, our side if comprised of freebies, loanees and a few players signed for peanuts. Until the club gets proper investment, we will get nowhere.
  8. I wish to make the following comment about our manager. When he first joined I absolutely slated him, based on the fact he had the most bizarre CV I had ever seen, I mean, a manager with no track record of success in European football and last seen coaching teams in Mexico and Qatar? However, I am seeing very good things from him. The passion is a big thing for me and is something I always look for from a manager. You see it in spades from the elite like Conte, Guardiola and Mourinho. The way he decimated Aberdeen in the second half was extremely impressive too. Today's semi final with Chelsea and Spurs reminded me of that. Jermaine Jenas argued after the game that Chelsea were undeserved victors. Shearer astutely corrected him that possession ultimately counts for nothing and that Chelsea destroyed Spurs where it counts. I think it's fair to say that the introduction of Eden Hazard, for me the best footballer in the world after Messi, was something Spurs couldn't cope with, but I think the game played out as Conte planned. I want to see a Rangers side playing possession based, creative football that's easy on the eye. I'm not entirely sure long term what we're going to get from Pedro. So far, however, I am warming to him. We have had two managers with impressive CV's in recent history with PLG and Warburton who ultimately proved worthless. Hopefully the one with the suspect CV proves me wrong. Let's get stuck in to them tomorrow. We have nothing to fear.
  9. 0. He isn't good enough for them. This reminds me of when I used to read people on FF saying that if Kris Boyd played for Man Utd he'd score 30/40 a season. If Liam Boyce played for Celtic how many would he score? Probably less than at Ross county.
  10. My point here is that excelling in a side 33 points off where we need to be doesn't really count for much. We need to be light years ahead of where we are next year and I don't think almost 40 year old Kenny Miller is going to help bridge the gap. I wouldn't be completely adverse to retaining him in a bit part/dressing room capacity, but if we're basing our attack around him next season we'll get nowhere.
  11. Yes, he's done well for a Rangers side 33 points behind Celtic. I really have nothing more to add.
  12. I didn't think Vidal's second yellow was that harsh actually. He clearly lifts his leg afterwards to foul the player:
  13. The only time I ever tend to read tabloid articles is when they flash up on the newsfeed on my iPhone. Yesterday one of the main Sun articles was about people on twitter talking about a picture of Katie Price's fridge, which she had posted online. This new culture of creating stories out of what people say on twitter really irks me. It's bad enough posting stories about morons like Katie Price, let alone posting what random people on twitter have to say about it. If I gave a shit what people on twitter had to say about anything, I'd go on there! Rant over. Edit - found the 'article': https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/3338455/fans-claim-katie-price-is-risking-food-poisoning-after-she-shared-a-picture-of-her-fridge-following-a-bank-holiday-shop/
  14. His remarks weren't racist at all and it's beyond parody what's transpired. However, his remarks were ignorant and cruel. Just because Barkley wants a better contract, he shouldn't be belittled in such a way.
  15. If weakening Aberdeen is part of our signing policy then we would be as well giving up now. He isn't the calibre we need to bridge the gap with Celtic, but would be useful backup.
  16. I don't really care where we finish in the league this season. In fact I think I would rather be spared the embarrassment of early round humiliation in Europe next season against Barry Town. Next season we need to be challenging for the title and that's all there is to it.
  17. I'm not going to watch this as frankly I would rather stick my head in an oven than listen to a word that cantankerous twerp has to say. I'm really not sure why Scottish football tolerates him. Well, I guess we do know.
  18. Here's hoping. Though if he was Mourinho-esque, one would wonder what he was doing in Mexico and Qatar. Given what transpired with Warburton, I find this appointment beyond baffling.
  19. Looking forward to seeing Chelsea in the CL next season. A decent mount of cash needs to be spent to catch the elite, but Conte is the best manager in the world right now and things are looking very promising. The formation has the perfect blend of balance, though not sure how it will do against the top few. The main strengths at the moment are Costa and Hazard. Particularly Hazard, whom I consider the second best player in the world.
  20. How can anyone scoff at the negativity surrounding us at the moment? I don't get this line of thinking at all. The only positive I can see just now is we've got shot of the reprehensible succession of con men we've had in recent years. Though the current board don't seem up to much either. Regarding our new manger, as I said at the time I will be absolutely stunned if he turns out to be a coup. I mean when is the last time we unearthed some random gem in any capacity? Rino Gattuso? We ballsed that up too!
