  1. By the law of averages we must be due one. If Wales can produce them why can't we?
  2. A youngster who was performing to a high level in the Finnish league. That's exactly the type of player we should be going for. His goalscoring record is superb and the only drawback is if he keeps it up he won't hang around long. As someone said earlier in this topic, if he does continue to perform and go to England, we need to have the next one in line waiting.
  3. European football is essential for our future. Strategic planning involves more than just looking at what's directly in front of your nose, but is something we have struggled with through my lifetime.
  4. Our inability to perform has us where we are. If we were a good football team we wouldn't be dropping points at home to Hearts and Hibs, getting pumped in Europe against minnows and surrendering to Celtic before a ball's even kicked.
  5. It's our inability to play good football that sees us currently at 6th place in the league.
  6. Not being in Europe is the very reason we're in this situation. And by that I mean them being light years ahead of us. A club of our size should be making a decent account of themselves on a yearly basis, even if it's just the Europa.
  7. Winning being everything is fine and well when it means winning Scottish titles, but it soon get exposed in Europe. Teams who play crap football week in week out will soon get destroyed by anyone half decent. And as a football fan I want to be entertained.
  8. McLeish would be lucky to get a job in the English third tier. He's beyond useless.
  9. I would rather we develop our own youngsters than other clubs'. These loan signings never seem to work out particularly well.
  10. The answer to the question is no and the pertinent question is who do we replace him with?
  11. The appointment was and still is embarrassing. I did then start to warm to him, but that has dissipated after various embarrassing results.
  12. Aberdeen are a piss poor team who routinely get dumped out by nobodies in the Europa League qualifiers. You're right. We need to be aiming much higher than that for our players.
  13. I figured after a few wins we'd see topics like this, but after 2? This is a question that should be asked at the end of the season. 2 wins against poor Scottish sides doesn't do anything to make up for just enduring one of the most embarrassing defeats of our history. We have such a fickle support. One minute Pedro is a worthless buffoon and a couple of games later he's Mourinho.
  14. I think he's pretty mediocre in the grand scheme of things, but probably elite level by Scottish league standards. He should do well and if he does perhaps he'll end up replacing Pedro. I'd take him over McInnes any day of the week.
  15. I heard a similar story about them saying they have the Challenge Cup! They were pretty quick to respond anyway and said since it's special circumstances they will cancel via email. They said they have an extremely high volume of calls...presumably this is after Scottish football fans suffering predictable early European exits. I also get the impression there's only one person answering calls.
  16. Thanks above for the email contact. Strongly worded email of cancellation sent.
  17. I can't find any contact information for them aside from their phone number, which is impossible to get through on.
  18. I was looking through bank statements recently and forgot I hadn't cancelled it after our Euro games. Tried to call several times, but was constantly position 20 odd in the queue. At one point I must have waited about 30 mins hearing the same message over and over. Anyway, I just phoned the bank and asked them to block the payment. So beware of Premier Sports anyway.
  19. Regardless of the politics this is a fantastic display. European clubs like this always put on a great show.
  20. Naismith is only 30 and he was performing to a high level in the EPL not long ago. Compare that to the lower league dross we normally have.
  21. He isn't a striker and he's 10 times the player Garner will ever be.
  22. I remember CaseyJones, one of the best posters RM and this place has seen calling us dead at that time. Would he not be welcome back either? If we weren't dead then we were something pretty close to it. And on that note, the Rangers I see now isn't the one I grew up supporting. The fact of the matter is that Steven Naismith is the type of player that can get us challenging Celtic again. He's one of us and I would welcome him back with open arms. It's not long ago he was sticking out as a high level EPL player. There's few players (if any) in our squad who could ever dream of being at that level.
