Looked absolutely awesome in 3d! The German fans, particularly BvB's, are amazing! -
I would be happy just to have a custodian that isn't a complete and utter crook!

He developed a very strong Scottish accent quite early on in his career with us.

They are prepared to buy shares from other individuals. That is all they have done so far. Surely given all we have been through we have to adopt some sort of intelligence.

Jon Daly, Cammy Bell and Nicky Law - are you happy?

Daly is a pointless signing that will be on high wages with no sell on value and signals a worrying intent on the football we will be playing next season. No idea about the other two but they seem to be have been decent in the SPL. Only time will tell if it works out as a large amount of 'decent' SPL players end up looking out of their depth at either side of the old firm. One thing in Bell's favour, we do not make a habit of signing bad goalkeepers. -
I think in this age of dirty rotten scoundrels surrounding our club, Dave King seems the best option. He has at least invested significantly in the club and his accusations were found to be ill founded and devised by a criminal. That is not to say that he is squeeky clean. But he seems the best option out of a bad bunch

Rangers board to decide Malcolm Murrayâ??s fate
Ser Barristan Selmy replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
I think you are missing the point. Are we at the point here where I actually have to argue about the chairman of our football club's alcoholism? -

This was not an isolated incident. Malcolm Murray is not a lorry driver. Do you think the likes of Alan Sugar, Richard Branson etc would get seen needing assistance to walk themselves out of restaurants? FFS - the rumours of Malcolm Murray's alcoholism were prior to the evidence we have just seen. -

If only they didn't drink we might have not got horsed by the likes of IFK gothenburg! Winning the SPL was easy! -

Really? I think he's less shady than Stockdale, Green and Ahmad (wouldn't be difficult given the scummy non Rangers interested nature of them). But surely we can do much better and I don't think any alcoholic or prolific binge drinker should be employed at the club. -
Strange response.

Oh come on. I am not unfamiliar with getting inebriated but I am not the chairman of Rangers football club, being watched by the public. Nor am I in my 50's. Nor am I an alcoholic. And I can always find my way home unaided without disgracing myself. Come on FS, I am a fan of your work, particularly the way you stick it to the RM lot, but you are way off point here. -
I have to say that I was always sceptical of Green. However, I did like the fact he didn't take shit and he also knew the failings of our manager and team. However, we have to remember this man has assembled the current shambles we find ourselves in. He has founded a board room of jokers that use their iphones to film each other and it just goes from one joke to another. Sorry Charles, but you have brought outright disgrace to our great club. We might be on a steadier financial front but we are probably a bigger joke than before you disgraced us with your presence.

Against part time opposition, some of which actually received no wage and were amateurs, and yet regularly got outplayed. We should have been winning every game by cricket scores, like Gretna did but more so.
-
I have to confess that apart from matches against us, I have no idea about his ability. Based on past experience of players who perform reasonably well in the SPL, we just need to wait and see. Could be an Aluko, could be an Ian Murray.

He's a drunk. If you regularly get so pished that you need help getting home, you should not be in superiority of any big company. I would have thought that much is abundantly obvious. The guy is quite obviously an alky. -
No point in this signing whatsoever. We already have a squad that should be easily capable of taking us to the SPL and we should be focusing on young players that we can develop in this interim period and use to win the SPL and compete in Europe. I'd hazard a guess that our current squad would win SFL 1 at a canter with a half decent manager. It also confirms worryingly that we will be playing hit and hope football next season. I would have hoped that the resources put into Daly could have been put towards signing a younger player with a more technical quality.
-
I have to say that I find it absolutely mind boggling that given our circumstances, there is not an absolute outcry about these two cretins developing a greater control of our club. We have already had two fraudsters destroy the club, In comes another guy who is actually a CONVICTED fraudster and nobody seems to give a shit?

I hate to say that on other forums I widely predicted how catastrophic a shared ownership structure would propagate. Rarely in modern football does shared ownership work well. There are of course examples of fan ownership in climates and cultures far different from our own where it works but when it comes down to a multitude of businessmen owning the club, the outlook is rarely good. The phrase 'the camel is a horse designed by committee' will invariably spring to mind but our current circumstances would see a more fitting analogy of 'the camel is a committee designed by a horse'. With multiple owners of various power and interests you inherit multiple board members of various power and interests and the end result is messy. Pathetic infighting and shambolic leaks that would put Harchester United to shame are par for the course and you really wonder where we are heading. Frankie earlier posted an article on RM that suggested we are in a similar state to the Craig Whyte era and that was not far off the the mark. The sad thing is as shambolic as our current shared ownership structure is, there seems to be nobody half decent interested in outright control. Ideal scenario? An intelligent money man appears out of the wood work free from controversy and puts the club back where it belongs. I won't hold my breath. Charles Green for all his efforts proved to be another joker trying to make a quick buck out of us, and we can only hope that the next businessman to show the same endeavour, does so with a bit more intelligence.

Jon Daly set for Rangers move after medical
Ser Barristan Selmy replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
Embarrassing signing. Only twice hit double figures in the SPL and is 30. We should be focusing on players that can make us a force again and/or have significant resale value. To be honest, I don't see the point in us signing anyone over 25 at the moment, unless they have clear demonstrated ability. Jon Daly is a league 2 level player, given that was the league he played in at his peak.
