Back to back defeats against Hamilton and Dundee, gubbed at home by St Johnstone and beaten by Killie away. I rest my case.

Big Eck was kept on for a long miserable season where we endured the worst run of form in our history and ended up third in a 2 team league, below a side of Lithuanian loanees. I doubt any other big club would have put up with him as long as we did.

Mark Allen on his role ar Rangers
Ser Barristan Selmy replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
A lot of sense here but two points I would make: firstly, we should have the infrastructure in place that losing any of our decent younger players isn't a big deal. I remember a while ago Sevilla being cited as the ideal example of a club who were always prepared to sell a decent player for large profit, but had the scouting infrastructure in place to readily place them. Secondly, we shouldn't be adverse to signing the odd player in their 30's. Claudio Caniggia for example, was well in his 30's when we signed him and he did a good turn for us. The Cannigia's of the world won't be back in a hurry, but there's still positive contributions to be gained from older players if they have sufficient skill. And given the league we play in, we're only going to get players of a certain quality when they're winding own in their careers. -
Ally McCoist used to seem very insightful when was one of the lead pundits on ITV's EPL coverage and we all know how that went. Gary Neville appeared to have real brains as a pundit and his coaching career sunk without a trace too. That said, based on his punditry and history with us. Neil McCann is someone I would like to see back at the club. I'm sure he had a lot more to offer than Murty, Pedro and the various plonkers we continue to be subjected to.

Was this bothering you during 9IAR?

In fairness, Alan Hutton was flying in the CL and looked a real player. Scottish players are weird though. They can look wonderful in their younger years and then they just turn to absolute shit. Alan Hutton tore Lyon a new arsehole in the CL, then had the most pathetic career ever in England. Funnily enough, randomly I am now working with someone who not so long ago was considered one of the hottest prospects in Scottish football. He's now working in an oil company and playing amateur level.
-
I can't recall any 'upstairs' employee of our club ever doing the slightest bit of good for our club in my lifetime, so I can understand any skepticism. Personally, I'll still go to the games and buy the shirts regardless, though if Allen isn't just another suit who walks away having contributed nothing to our club I will be stunned. I saw you ask in another post what has he done wrong, but what has he done right? FYI - I'm not targeting your posts, perhaps the fact that you talk a lot of sense is why I reply to you a lot! I think we're both younger bears who sing from the same hymn sheet generally.

Shite shite? Jesus Christ, dude. We might all have differing opinions on here, but at least make an attempt to not converse like an ignoramus. And yes, we kept Big Eck far longer than we should have. His absolute incompetency is now proven beyond any doubt.
-
Whether it's true or it's not, £18 million is an insane some for a player playing in Scotland and that would be a superb piece of business by them. We are so far behind them it's untrue.
-
What specifically has illustrated this lack of patience though? Like most Scottish teams I think a fair chunk of our support have a pretty prehistoric view to football, but week in week out the fans turn up regardless of the awful football we've watched for years. It's worth noting that there were few complains in the early DA years or Warburton's first season, when we played the style of football we should always at least attempt to play.
-
And on the worst run of form in our history. A lot of fun that was.
-
No, we didn't.
-
8 losses in 27 and you're actually trying to defend him? Lol. Being better than Murty is completely irrelevant. We'd be as well having Jimmy Bell in charge - surely it's his turn now.
-
We really aren't that impatient at all. We put up with Big Eck and Ally for long enough. In fact after all the comical nonsense and crap football we have been subjected to in recent years, it's a miracle we get the attendances we do. As for Pedro, we didn't pluck him from some obscure league because he's the next Mourinho. He was useless. Chop it up to experience and move on.
-
Whilst I generally couldn't care less who or what we have at our club as long they're talented, I would normally stop short at appointing a tim as our manager. I mean how ridiculous as that? However, given the never ending incompetency we're being subjected to, I would literally take ANYONE. We seem to have an uncanny knack for appointing absolutely dire managers, Our current manager is probably the worst manager in the SPL.
-
An urban myth? It's an undeniable fact. Jesus Christ, man. Try to be at least a little objective from time to time. Otherwise your opinion is irrelevant.
-
Did they miss the back to back defeats to Hamilton and Dundee and being gubbed at home by St Johnstone? You would have to be wired to the moon to appoint a guy who endured those defeats.

One that isn’t absolutely atrocious would be a good start.

Doesn’t seem to hold back Barcelona.

Absolutely pathetic.

I get this sinking feeling every time a manager gets suggested who just gets repeatedly sacked wherever he goes. -

We made no loss on Amato and you seem to be omitting some of his signings like Numan, Van Bronkhorst, Mols, Reyna, De Boer etc. It didn't help Advocaat that he inherited a squad that needed to be rebuilt from scratch, and at a club with archaic infrastructure. And if he was given the money he was obviously going to spend it. Murray's legacy is where we are now. -

I can imagine a lot of Swansea fans would be devastated getting him. He's the complete opposite of what they're about and it would be a real slap in the face. Talksport just now are saying they're going for De Boer anyway. -

Pedro didn't work because he's obviously a crap manager. Nothing on his CV suggests he isn't and he was a joke appointment. Employing Pedro was like when Ali Dia pretended he was George Weah's cousin to get Souness to sign him for Southampton. Given how PLG has done since us it doesn't look like he was very good in the first place either. To not employ another foreign manager when they have all the best success, techniques, ideas etc just because we made two mistakes would be beyond moronic. We've had a load of failed British managers recently - both permanent and temporary. -

I'll let those dreaming about Tony Pulis dream about Pulis; I'll dream about Guardiola. We have as much chance of one as the other.
