British football has done very little for me this season, aside from Liverpool. The later stages of the CL have been phenomenal this year though. With the last kick of the ball Muller was in to make it 3-2, but just missed. This campaign has seen end to end football, lots of goals and this is how it should be. You can stick your boring defensive football up your arse.

Getting bothered by these timmy journos does remind me of the bear in the woods story a bit: a man goes out hunting in the woods one day and gets raped by a bear. The second day the man goes hunting and again gets raped by the bear. On the third day the bear turns round to the man and say, 'you're not here to hunt are you?'

The EPL is garbage at the moment. Thankfully the CL is restoring my faith in football....Real currently holding on for grim death against Bayern.

It is easier to just ignore them. This is the first reminder that Spiers exists in many a month for me.

There's no big mystery about what is going on. A succession of abysmal boards have appointed a succession of abysmal managers whom have signed - for the most part - abysmal players. I don't think a decent board would have any problems getting us winning again. Three years into the Dave King regime we are behind Aberdeen in the league and level on points with Hibs. There has been no progression here.

Sunderland Sold; Coleman Sacked

Gerrard is an unknown quantity; Coleman is a known bad one. Apart from a good international campaign, he has had a poor managerial career. -
Investment apparently being announced tomorrow

DB - every single time you back our failing boards and managers, despite how obviously awful they are. Do you not get tired being wrong? If it has a Rangers tie you will defend it, regardless of reality. -

We’re behind Aberdeen and equal on points with Hibs. That’s the reality. Now is not the time for excuses. -
FS - what is your opinion on this? And also generally about the board? I value your opinion and would like to know.

Step forward Ally McCoist announced on a surprise 5 year contract.

Is this legally binding? I'm a few pints deep.

He is being extremely optimistic. If Pena has a positive future with us I will happily donate all of my money to the first person to reply to this post.

I know you're joking but there's nothing positive to say about our current situation. Nothing.

Pete, posting Pedro's crap CV doesn't do your argument much help. We have had various managers recently lacking the required experience for this role and this is an indisputable fact. Going for someone with decent experience is a no brainer. Killie managed so we should be able to not only match that, but do significantly better. I'm all about promoting younger coaches if they have decent ideology, but with our inept board, infrastructure and resources we need to be minimising any risk. Gerrard is another shot in the dark.
-
If Killie can get a decent manager so can we.
-
McCoist, Warburton, Pedro and Murty are all managers with little or no experiencing coaching at a decent level. They all failed. Of course a rookie is the last thing on God's green earth we need. This regime is just like the last two - clueless.

What are you basing this on?

Poll: Steven Gerrard as Rangers manager - Yea or Nay?
Ser Barristan Selmy replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Hopefully the board have done their due diligence this time and aren't being duped by a fancy powerpoint presentation. I won't hold my breath. Gerrard is a shot in the dark and the complete opposite of what we should be looking for. -

It just means that quality doesn't mean anything. -
It doesn't seem that long ago our support were bigging McGregor up as the best keeper in Britain. Whilst that might have been over egging his quality, he was an excellent keeper for us.

Diego Maradona, Paul Ince, Lothar Matthäus, Hristo Stoichkov, Bryan Robson, Glenn Hoddle etc prove being a good player means nothing. -

I'd rather Gerrard gets on the pitch. Would probably still be miles better than anyone we have. -

Didn't we just try appointing a youth coach and it spectacularly failed? Haven't we failed time and time again in our modern history by appointing managers with no track record of success at a decent level? Why is this even up for discussion? We never learn a god damn thing. -
Gerrard obviously does have something about him. He was a world class player. This counts for virtually nothing with regards to his coaching ability.
