  1. Why don't you make a point that supports what gunslinger said?
  2. Instagram post from the manager. https://www.instagram.com/p/CTKULAwC3hR/
  3. The guardian is reporting something similar. I find those numbers easy to believe. We were moving the ball forward much quicker.
  4. I'm never a fan of players playing through an injury but this was the time to do it. Two vital results. I hope this explains some of his problems this season as we can look forward to improved form when he recovers.
  5. Pretty sure my shameful prediction had the correct number of Rangers goals too.
  6. This was a good result. We are still off form and managed to grab a win anyway. Despite us conceding lots of possession to Celtic they still didn't look too threatening in attack.
  7. I couldn't believe that McCrorie put the ball out. Glad that it didn't end up costing us a goal as it would have ruined an otherwise fine old firm debut.
  8. I'm not too worried about the goalkeeper but there is a big drop off at right back.
  9. If the current form continues then we are in a battle for third place.
  10. Based on our recent form I would expect us to lose and concede a few goals. I think that both defences are poor at the moment but I don't have any confidence in our attack to take advantage. If we are to win this then we will need to win it in the midfield. Too pessimistic?
  11. You are far too kind to him. Based on recent evidence he doesn't have any killer instinct to hone. A ruthless striker gets the ball in that situation and knows exactly what he wants to do. Morelos stumbled along as if he had no idea what he was doing. He never used to be like that.
  12. Extra time would be very nice. I don't know much about Joe Hart. Is he error prone?
  13. Torture. I'm getting fed up watching Morelos one on one with the keeper. I can't remember the last time I felt confident watching him in that situation. Even the goal last week, against Alashkert, was almost a miss. He used to have an edge. Where has it gone? I'm now concerned that this will be a long, and difficult, season.
  14. Wait, are you really making an appeal to authority by linking to a collection of anecdotes in the guardian?!
  15. Yes, we can never avoid the fact that the best teams need to get a financial reward. We most certainly should avoid structuring football to ensure that the same teams are always rewarded.
  16. One should take care when complaining about such things in here.
  17. The market corrects this behaviour rather quickly. If a bureaucrat is getting involved then you can rest assured that the 'problem' is not being solved. Another problem is being created.
  18. A football club should be allowed to make a speculative investment and risk the consequences. Efforts to limit spending are doomed to failure and completely miss the general problem. If some teams are too rich to overcome then rather than limit spending they should limit what teams can spend money on. For example the loan system is used by big clubs to prevent smaller clubs profiting from player development. Big clubs hoard talented youth players meaning that small clubs develop them but don't get to sell them on. The answer is to limit how many players a club can loan out at one time. Talented youth players would then find smaller clubs to play for before earning the small club a transfer fee on departure. Another example is youth teams playing in lower divisions. This allows big clubs to spend money more efficiently and develop youth players. Again this eliminates another reason for a young player to go to a small club and earn them a transfer fee. Smaller clubs don't have enough money to run an equivalent youth team and won't be able to develop young players in the same way. I'm pretty sure that there are many more examples that would actually improve the competitiveness of football. U.E.F.A. only suggest this to distract fans. This is presumably the same U.E.F.A. that structures European competitions in a way that ensures sponsorship money is funnelled into the big clubs.
  19. I never understand why principle is so ignorant of practice. It is a rubbish idea in both principle and practice.
