  1. In the case of Weir it is quite possible that experience as a technical director is not sufficient preparation to be managing director at Rangers. If we are being honest we will admit that he springs to mind because of his previous spells at the club and little else. In the case of Bennett he may not have any interest in committing to any more than he is doing at present.
  2. As far as I can tell that depends on the company. I know that some will apply the terms arbitrarily. I think that chief executive is a strategic role whereas managing director is about the day to day management and implementation. I say this having only ever encountered chief executives and never once a managing director. I would guess that a few here have encountered many of both so I'm happy to be corrected.
  3. What is it about Bennett, or Weir, that would make either one a good fit for the particular role of managing director?
  4. Someone made a good point about him in a previous discussion. It was that the criticism he gets often appears to assume that he is a chief executive rather than a managing director. Do we really need a more forceful managing director?
  5. Yes, knowledge of what goes on behind the scenes would help to make sense of it.
  6. This seems like a silly question to me. I can't imagine why it would be important to ask about Dutch players. Anyone? This, on the other hand, was a great question. I hope that the board keeps pushing prices up.
  7. Not even two days and already two former players up in this thread! I feel like celebrating.
  8. Fortunately he will never be near our treatment room. We can, and will, still discuss it constantly until the transfer window slams shut.
  9. Looking forward to some rumours about former players. Balogun is sure to feature heavily in the newspapers.
  10. I should have read that more carefully! That's a relief. The lack of discussion makes perfect sense now.
  11. Why so little discussion of this? Is it a typo?
  12. Aye, but what if it's just players like Ridvan and Matondo?
  13. Beale wanted Ridvan and Matondo in?! We're all doomed!
  14. So no explanation of how either one supports your argument. Ok. Got it.
  15. It is not clear why you are mentioning this at all. Importance is some way off. Do you have any reason to think that the manager is not aligned to the board? The answer is no because he has only just been appointed. You normally have zero data points to support your argument. In this case it is almost impossible for any such data point to exist. Just admit that your talking point is a product of your fevered imagination.
  16. Straight up fairy story. Why are you mentioning these things? It is completely unclear how either one supports your argument.
  17. Why not share the last time that we were in an objectively better financial position?
  18. It is as if you have never encountered a single football supporter in your entire life.
  19. Dear supporter Thank you for advising us against playing a lucrative friendly match We look forward to reading your, er, rational criticism of our inability to invest in the playing squad Kind regards Some board member
  20. Dear supporter We listened to your, er, rational criticism Now we face legal proceedings Kind regards Some board member
  21. Yes, my response was beneath the standards of discussion found elsewhere. I just found it too difficult, at the time, to respond to such a load of rubbish in any other way.
  22. Beale has been in the door for 5 minutes and buster is worrying about alignment with the board. It is not possible to take that seriously. I feel very positive about the finances. Not perfect but I think that we are in a better position than we have been for a very long time. Experts might correct me. Either way we will be in an even better position when we free up the wage donated to Morelos, Helander et al. As pointed out elsewhere the act of managing expectations has zero purpose when dealing with football supporters. We will be happy if we win and angry if we lose. The idea that this will change if only we had some 'communication' is a very silly fairy story. Finally he makes a bizarre plea for leadership. In my estimation leadership has little to do with acting on the endless stream of irrational complaints that will come from any support. Again it is impossible to take stuff like this seriously. Almost every time that an opportunity to take responsibility emerges, in the form of shares, you will hear little above the cacophony of excuses.
