Well, that was underwhelming. A defence that cracks as soon as it is tested and an attack that you can predict will struggle to score. This match adds to my pre-season suspicion that Kranjčar, and Barton, have weakened the best part of the team. Have we really strengthened the team? I think I would much rather that the manager put Forrester and Rossiter in from the start. If we achieve anything this season it will require a transformation of the first eleven. That could be a different selection or a radical improvement from those already playing.

From where I was sitting much of his passing was terrible. Widespread confusion when he was announced as man of the match.

There is no real reason for outsiders to think that we will do well in the league. We still have lots to prove. We can only hope that the team takes some motivation from this.

I more, or less, agree. TV will still prefer 4 Rangers/Celtic matches though. I don't imagine that many outsiders would tune in for any other matches.

3 options and 3 complaints: 1. 10 team league - too boring for supporters 2. 16/18 team league - too boring for T.V. 3. Status Quo - too stupid and often unfair We will need to accept one of these options. Given that all are very easy to criticise for some reason it is easy to see why nothing changes.

I have wondered about how these clubs would spend the money. In the case of many I hope they used it to improve facilities. Some, Annan in particular, are quite poor.

Given the opportunity to discuss Rangers impact on lower league clubs, or some tedious minutiae, many choose the latter. Could the root of the problem lie elsewhere?
