I thought he must have said something in earshot of the fourth official. He was standing talking to Tavernier when the referee came over. I also noticed the fourth official step onto the pitch and nod to the referee.

If a turnaround was going to happen it would need a string of good results from tonight until the Aberdeen matches. We have a run of winnable games with this one looking easiest on paper. If we can't do it tonight then I'm pessimistic about our chances with the rest of the matches.

I don't think it was a defensive move. The midfield would manage better with a good striker in front of it. Barjonas and Nemane are just young and weaken the side when they come on. I suspect Morelos was tired and was taken off with the next match in mind.

To be fair we did start well. The team looked like it knew what it was doing. Dorrans going off meant we had to bin our original gameplan. The team really struggled when Nemane came on though.

Please note that standing on an opponent's foot is most certainly not a mind game.

Pretty spineless stuff. Kilmarnock are clearly a pathetic side and we still can't beat them at home. Hard to see Pedro surviving much longer. Jack needs to stop getting suckered in like that. He makes it too easy for the opposition.

Talk of boycotts is silly. You won't change anything that way. Not least because supporters will end up sending the money to some awful TV station instead. Best to focus on improving the quality of refereeing. If players continue to kick lumps out of each other the game will just get worse and worse.

It's a discussion for another thread but I don't think that 4 divisions and 42 teams is a significant factor in Scotland's predicament.

I think either Holt or Herrera should come in for Carlos Peña. Even so I expect Peña to come on in the second half. I'm not so bothered about Windass, for the moment, since I don't think Nemane has looked all that good. Either way I hope we play well because we need a confidence boost ahead of the Hearts match.

He's right about Windass and Peña. Difficult to get by with either, or both, playing as they did yesterday.

Maybe Gonzo can start posting on some of these fan forums and persuade them to chuck it. No Surrender . . .

Pedro has to get more out of these players, especially Carlos Peña. It's not good enough for him to only contribute goals. If we win our matches between now and the Aberdeen matches then I think the manager will be safe enough for a while. Although the fixtures in December are guaranteed to cause another panic for some.

Lots of unforced errors from both fullbacks and the entire midfield. It's easy to point at Moult and say that we should have signed him. I don't think he would have helped us much today. We lost that match in midfield. Peña and Windass were both obvious passengers today. The manager needs to get more from this team.
