We will need to do better than that. The half time changes were bad. The team didn't look like it knew what to do in the second half.
-
Look at the state of this guy. Quite apart from being a disgrace to his club, he is a mess.

Scottish Premiership stars with contracts running out this summer

A few lolz to be had. What about Templeton or Sammon? -
Chelsea beat Man City in race to sign Rangers wonderkid Billy Gilmour

I hope he stays with us. Despite that £500,000 is a lot of money for a 16 year old. How many of our first team squad would be sold for such a sum? If we get that money we can reinvest it in more youth development. -
Martyn Waghorn linked with summer move to Nottingham Forest
ranger_syntax replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
In the recent past I would have welcomed Waghorn being moved on. I'm not so sure now. I wouldn't be surprised if he did better under a new manager. If I were him I would be reluctant to follow Warburton anywhere. -
Welcome Pedro! Rangers v Hamilton preview.

Good performance from the team today. Good to see players heading for the byline more often. Toral made a much better contribution today. Some of the passing was really good. Hard to know how much can be taken from this performance though since Hamilton are rubbish. -
Yeah, he's rubbish.

This managerial appointment is embarrassing

We can definitely compare their track records prior to becoming manager. -
Sometimes you've just got to make the evidence fit your conclusion . . .

I predict we'll come second by three points

Why not? Glad to see I'm not the only one feeling optimistic. I've found the last month to be a bit boring. Despite a few exciting moments I can't really get too interested while it is obvious we have had a caretaker manager. Much more interesting to see what the new manager can do with the existing squad. -
Yes, yes, I think I read something similar.

Every appointment is a gamble. Was Warburton's record any better that Caixinha's? The O.P. is right to ask for the 'inside story' on this since few of us are going to approve based on his record alone. The board have interviewed him and so know things that we don't. Presumably he said a lot that they liked. -
He might have brought a couple.

Maybe Clint should have a word with himself about not handing ammunition over to them.

No reason to distrust it? Apart from the series of articles, published the very next day, reporting that he declined the post. Followed by a stony silence from the press on the topic since then. No mention of Nigeria on Le Guen's wikipedia page. But then Le Guen is mentioned on the Nigerian Football Federation's website. https://www.thenff.com/tag/paul-le-guen/ This one is particular is a pure belter https://www.thenff.com/2016/07/nff-we-never-said-le-guen-had-super-eagles-job/
-
We definitely had chances to win that today. In this game, and the last one against them, we've only lost goals through defensive mistakes.
-
So Le Guen is not the manager, or head coach, and never has been. Neither has he ever been the 'Technical Director', nor 'Technical Advisor', as he never accepted a post with the Nigerian Football Federation. Is that right?
-
Yes, yes, you know what? . . . I think you're right about that.

I happened to notice an 'article' in the gutter press recently. It suggested a list of possible assistant managers for him to appoint including Baz, Jig, Alex Rae and Peter Løvenkrands. The suggested reasons for hiring these guys included such gems as 'knows the club inside out' and 'knows what the club is all about'. I hope he brings in his own back room team.
-
Good news. Lets move on.
-
Anyway I only looked in here to confirm my suspicion that the usual suspects would be doing the following two things: 1. Downplaying how bad some previous managers were. 2. Exaggerating how bad some previous managers were. It was as I suspected.

I've got another link. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3698505/Paul-Le-Guen-turns-offer-new-Nigeria-coach-did-not-want-country.html I can't find any evidence of him managing Nigeria but google brings back reports from the 19th and 20th. Reporting that he was appointed and then it fell through. Can anybody else help us get to the objective truth?
-
Have we reached the next level of excuse making? Working in Africa, then the gulf, demonstrates a clear career trajectory. Is he really working in Nigeria?
-
I thought his reported salary, 800K, was quite high.
