Yes, in my opinion the director of football should be judged on the quality of signings that we make over a period of ~2 years. He will be a success if signings like Barton, Kranjčar, Peña and Herrera end. There are surely other factors too but I think this is the important one.

I think he is slightly better than Wallace going forward and a great deal worse than Wallace when defending. I understand that he is young though and could well improve. He may well be free but I was thinking about his wage when I mentioned his price. I just don't want us to pay a high wage for a left back that has yet to demonstrate that he can defend. I can live with him being a squad player at the right price.

Much better to keep gambling out of sport altogether.

Overall Murty has done well despite a few baffling results. He strikes me as someone who will learn a lot. I hope we all get behind him. If we can't win the league I certainly don't want to finish behind Aberdeen too.

This is depressing news. I was looking forward to him getting back in to the team. At least part of it coincides with the winter break.

Really enjoyed that match. It could easily have gone the other way. For most of the first half I didn't expect us to get back into it. Some of our passing was terrible. Two great goals though. I can't wait for us to get our first choice midfield back.

Yes, part of the reason we struggled, again, was the makeshift midfield.

Since we are leaving all that behind we must look to the future. When we complain about the board we need to think about the alternative. What alternatives do we have at present? Also I think I remember the chairman telling us he wanted to get some non supporter directors involved but that it would take 1-2 years. So is any complaint about the current board simply a case of pushing against an open door?
