I think it is pointless. How does the SPFL measure the success of the winter break?

Yes, in my opinion the director of football should be judged on the quality of signings that we make over a period of ~2 years. He will be a success if signings like Barton, Kranjčar, Peña and Herrera end. There are surely other factors too but I think this is the important one.

I think he is slightly better than Wallace going forward and a great deal worse than Wallace when defending. I understand that he is young though and could well improve. He may well be free but I was thinking about his wage when I mentioned his price. I just don't want us to pay a high wage for a left back that has yet to demonstrate that he can defend. I can live with him being a squad player at the right price.

Much better to keep gambling out of sport altogether.

Overall Murty has done well despite a few baffling results. He strikes me as someone who will learn a lot. I hope we all get behind him. If we can't win the league I certainly don't want to finish behind Aberdeen too.

If we bring him back he should play up front and in the middle. We have all watched him do nothing on the wing. His short time spent at right back was presumably an attempt at constructive dismissal. I have no idea why we keep discussing it.

I think that the change of formation cost us today. St Johnstone didn't even impress either.

This is depressing news. I was looking forward to him getting back in to the team. At least part of it coincides with the winter break.
