Rangers go to battle with football authorities

I think that either Mark Allen, or one of the managers, said that we won't look to bring in a new player if it looks like a young player can come through. Bringing in McGregor short term and moving on Foderingham could be a sign that one of the young keepers is in with a chance in 1.5/2 years. I still don't know who is interested in signing Foderingham though.

The impact of a post on Gersnet is not really the issue. It's also not a great idea to do something just because so many other people are doing it too. We should think about what it is that we discuss. As it is we dance to the tune of our critics.

Radical change is required. I would consider an end to seeding, a return to a knockout format, strict limitation to the loan system and equal access to European competitions for each country.

Looks onside to me.

Yeah, yeah, but do you think we should give him the attention he craves, or not?

What do you think Ian?

Maybe Rwanda should be looking for investors instead of foreign aid donors.

Ramos has ruined two finals in a row, no?

Yeah, because demand for Old Firm tickets is so low ... -

This is a pleasant surprise. I'm glad that we're doing this because of high demand for season tickets. That's the right reason. Keep backing the team! -

The media sure. The club will not give any thought to it when considering his future. -

I don't see where the visit to a Catholic school comes in to it. -

It's not a problem if the person in question behaves as a professional. Plenty of players have in the past. Given the nature of the rivalry, i.e. two big teams in a small country, then I think going along to support one team, while contracted to the other, counts as unprofessional. If that's what O'Halloran is like then it explains a lot. You can't imagine him going the extra mile for the team. You must also wonder what the other players think. -
I'm not sure that the club wants safe standing. The additional seats don't need to be a structural advantage. As I mentioned, this can push up hospitality prices and season ticket prices. Also, I still think we might face restrictions on increasing capacity. We already have to keep the Albion car park open in order to open the Club Deck. Can we increase capacity without providing more parking? I think the answer may be no.

It's almost as if you are a complete stranger to the Old Firm rivalry. -
Agreed. That's more or less what I mean.

I'm surprised at Livingston winning promotion. Lots of decent clubs in that division now. Looks like another tough season for Dundee United.

Think Gonzo needs more megapixels on his camera. -
Quite the opposite. This is a painfully familiar topic though. It is repeatedly discussed on fan forums with little acknowledgement of the limitations we face.

Another option for redevelopment would be to make changes to the Broomloan stand. For example making it easier to segregate. If we had some flexibility to segregate this stand then we could adjust it according to who we play. If we were hosting Hibernian, Aberdeen or Hearts then we might be able to sell a quarter or a third of the stand to them. If we host Celtic we might think half, two thirds or all of the stand is appropriate. At present we have two options the whole Broomloan or the corner. This would allow us to increase the number of season tickets that we sell without changing the capacity much.
-
If you look at pictures of the stands prior to the corners being filled in you will see that there is a supporting pillar on either side. These pillars support girders that runs across the top of each of the three stands. I believe that filling in the top half of the corners would involve removing the pillars on either side. If you do this then you need to support the roof in some other way. Quite expensive I imagine. If we really want to expand the corner areas then we need something expensive or radical. The radical option would be to remove the roof. This would be good in some ways as the online community could move on from fantasizing about more seats to complaining about not having a roof. Particularly good for those of us, laughing our heads off, in the main stand.

I've seen it said elsewhere that we can't have a much bigger stadium due to limited parking/public transport. Best to focus on making small improvements to what we have. If demand for tickets remains high then we can make more money from hospitality and tickets in general. I've also seen it said elsewhere that we can't fill in the corners of the Govan stand without completely rebuilding it. Surely not worth the effort. If we did want to increase capacity then perhaps the best idea would be to do something with the Copland stand only.

Yes. I'm in favour of parking restrictions but based on the numbers mentioned it is probably much better to try something on a smaller scale. A train station would be very handy too.

Also it's quite amusing to note that the supporter liaison's father has waded in to the debate ... ... to defend his son against a grammar critic!
