When Mark Allen arrived he had never been a director of football before. I thought he was trying to establish himself as one while aiming to do that job at another club. That is to say we are a stepping stone for him. He arrived at the club when it was wasting millions on Mexican duds. It was just about to be dumped out of Europe by a small club from Luxembourg. Since then the club's transfer dealings have improved massively. It has landed a great manager. It has also qualified for the group stages of the Europa league two years in succession. He is now in a good position to find a similar role in a club with more money to spend. Good luck to him. I think there will be a few good candidates hoping to succeed him.

It hasn't come out of nowhere. It is all down to his performance against Celtic. I think he has been good so far apart from that. With regard to the 'best eleven' he is in a competition with Arfield. I think he will play more often than not up until January.

That's not really divisive though. Guys like Kenny Miller and Josh Windass were divisive because plenty of supporters actually disliked them.

You're right about the demands placed on him now. I think he will deliver though. I think that Ojo will still make a decent contribution. We are not likely to be in Europe after Christmas but we will still need competition for places. I'm not so sure about Barker though. He might end up on loan in January. The wage bill will take time to deal with. We will only get it under control if we continue to increase the success rate of transfers and reach the group stages in Europe.
