If we hang it will be some score. Poland piling it on. Scotland been outstanding so far. Some really really good players. Fletcher and Morrison especially. Class acts. Anyas pace. Naismith was always a cracking wee player. Maloney technically brilliant.

Gordon Durie though i did notice Kirkwood and Sinclair trying to takeover against Hearts in the Cup Final last year. None of them good enough for our club. Jonatan Johansen, yes, that JJ, is Motherwells U20 manager.

Can't believe anyone would be daft enough to try and defend our European record. It is embarrassing.

Cheers, bit of a let down then. Pointless loaning this mob anything.

Qualifying exits? We ain't ready for Europe mate, not by a long shot!

Neil Lennon: Bolton appoint ex-Celtic boss as manager
Super Cooper replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
By all accounts Neil Lennon is a highly intelligent individual. -
A takeover?

Dutch deserved it, shocking atm. Well done Iceland. I went to the Iceland Scotland U'21 qualifier at Easter Rd a few years back and Iceland were sensational, a certain Number 10, Gylfi running the entire show. Good on them.

Until the SOS or the UOF come up with enough money to buy those out they protest against then everything they say or do is pointless, useless even. Money Is the only thing that will make this board take notice.

Neil Lennon: Bolton appoint ex-Celtic boss as manager
Super Cooper replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
Being the leader of the tribe like taking his men into battle against Barcelona or Rangers at the Piggery suited him but when he actually had to do his job and manage like win the title at Ibrox, win away at Inverness, beat Ross County, Hearts, St Mirren all at Hampden he failed, tactically and managerially he failed. He showed nothing during his time at Celtic to suggest he can be a football manager. -
Coming Soon:....'Ashely and the Vanishing Commercial Revenue' ??
Super Cooper replied to buster.'s topic in Rangers Chat
Over £15m from the accounts i looked at. Costs of around £10.5m. But they did have the kudos of their own shops all over the country and their kit in every major sports store in the world plus a fantastic kit deal with Nike which also helps their brand. We have had jumble sale cheap shite for the last 10 years, from Diadora to Umbro and now Puma with our gear near impossible to buy outside of Scotland. -

Murray was under sever pressure at the time. He got dogs abuse for selling off our shops and sacking so many staff. The Glasgow club will receive an initial payment of £18m on 7 June, when they launch their new Umbro home kit. A guaranteed minimum annual royalty of £3m will be received by Rangers in each year of the licence. Rangers chairman David Murray said: "It will allow for the reduction of the club's debt and enable further investment to be made in the team." -

£3m clear guaranteed every year. By comparison, Celtic make just over £4m profit from merchandise. Since we became newco how much have we brought in from the 3/4/5/6 new kit launches and all the other merchandise? I bet it's nowhere near the £9m we would be sitting with pre newco. -
Is that not their whole purpose? Fan ownership? Anyway, that is an aside, the question is, are the Rangers fans groups who are buying shares in the club also pissing the fans money up against a wall? Jhunter said without control you are literally pissing your money away. So is that what the RST/Buy Rangers and Rangers First are doing, throwing fans money down a black hole? Sure looks like it from what you are both saying.
-
Are RST/Buy Rangers and Rangers First not buying up shares on behalf of fans? If they are, are they pissing the fans money away too?

We must be at the top table, we must be able to compete in one off matches against the best, we must have ambition and drive to succeed. We must have dreams of replicating Porto, Atletico, Ajax, Red Star etc etc otherwise we ain't Rangers anymore. I certainly will never accept Rangers not competing in Europe or indeed being cannon fodder for the elite. We are the elite, maybe not financially but as a football club and family, we are special, or at least, we used to be.

Where are King and co getting £16m? C'mon mate, get real here. A third of that could have gave them total control of the club 2 years ago, a few million less would have got them a majority shareholding just last year. They don't have it imo.
-
Start of what though? Shaming ourselves? Becoming a laughing stock? Yes we need to act but surely we can do better than this? I would rather the SoS went begging to McColl, Murray, Park and King and asked them to step and play.

We live in a country where immigrants, poverty and benefit cheats are aplenty, their choice of brand and price bracket is Sports Direct. It's a tramps and chavs dream, a brand i would never want associated with our great club. Normal people go to Pro Direct Soccer, JD or Kitbag.

With Ser on this. Makes SoS and indeed Rangers fans look more foolish than SD or Ashley. Daft idea which will have no effect whatsoever on Ashleys plans.

Keith Jackson: Another Rangers war doesn't make sense..
Super Cooper replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Thanks Hildy, i agree with just about every word of that. I have my opinion but i cannot and do not claim it to be right, just what i feel i prefer given so many variables. I do understand and apprecaite what you are saying, i really do. I would like to know though, how, with a fan ownership model we get the club off the Laxeys, Ashleys, B&Ps and Margaritas? How do we get control of our club when guys like Paul Murray, Jim McColl and Dave King can't? What do we do? -

Super Cooper replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Yet you haven't told us what you, me and thousands of our fans have done to get our club out of the clutches of these vultures. The bottom line is the Rangers supporters cannot afford to buy the current lot out. Money is the only thing that will rid us of them and we sadly do not have enough to satisfy the board. To me fan ownership is even more deluded than expecting, waiting for, hoping for a King, Park, McColl whoever to step up and give the current shower what they want. At least we know, the type we hope for, whoever they are, have the means unlike all those fans you think can take control at our club. Frankly fan ownership is a pipedream which will never come to fruition, we have had numerous individuals in our history own the club and will have again. Too thick is probably closer to the truth than we want to accept. Skint and clueless more reasons why it won't happen. Where have i said a total stranger? Please quote me that post. Because the same ownership model also brought us our glorious history. It's that simple. Why not? Because a couple of animals tried their best to ruin us? Nonsense. We shouldn't be put off by 3 or 4 years of torture out of over 140. -

I disagree. They were found wanting. Hoping. Dreaming. Sleeping even, as Green and his pals stepped up, regrettably. 2 years later there is absolutely no proof to support these sham claims, i so wish there was. I don't appreciate that at all. I really don't. I am very much to grips with that fact. It's common sense. What percentage of the club do the fans currently own? How many shares have our fans bought since 2012? If fan ownership is our only hope then the party is indeed over. Shut the doors and turn off the lights. -

I understand that Hildy but as a fanbase we have let it happen. What did we really do to stop Whytes takeover or Greens consortium taking over? Where were the fans when Murray put the club up for sale 6/7/8 years ago? We had people buying into Craig Whytes tenure for crying out loud when the alarm bells were going off everywhere. We had fans supporting and buying into Charles Green even after he said he was only here to make money and we were being told by so many Rangers minded individuals not to trust him. Fans didn't want to listen. You say fan ownership message has been out for 10 years but it hasn't really set the heather on fire has it? We are only hearing about it now because we are so desperate. 10 years is surely long enough for a fan base of alleged millions to buy into the club enough to secure it's long term future. In my opinion, if fan ownership ever happens then God help us. That is only my opinion. Sections of our support are as toxic as this current regime in my opinion. Rangers at heart or not. What annoys me in all of this though is the silence and disappearance of alleged Rangers men who actually have the wealth and means to help us. On the bandwagon during 9IAR, Uefa Cup runs, Champions League nights, SPL title wins but nowhere to be seen when the glitz and glamour ain't there anymore. Your Parks, Kings, Lewis', McColls, Hunters etc etc. Is that the only multi millionaires we have within our alleged huge worldwide diaspora. Even ex-players who have made multi millions from their time at our club and in the game who claim we are their club, where were they? Where are they? Perhaps we are just not as big or as popular as we thought we were? Maybe the 5.5 million fans thing is indeed a myth and the limit of our support is the 250000 fans who turned up in Manchester. If that is indeed the case we can forget about ever competing with Celtic again, fan or sole ownership.
