  1. We got put out the LC without the summer signings. We wouldn't have lost that game now. I happen to believe this side could certainly get to the SC final if we can add one or two players in January for the weaker areas of the team.

As for getting back into Europe all we can hope for is for an extra ordinary application if Whyte's takeover is deemed fraudulent but when that's likely to behave to say I've no idea

Just how big do you think our squad has to be? How much more money would you spend on our wage bill? We already have the second highest in the country by some distance.

  2. This was discussed in length a few weeks ago on here.

My opinion has not changed; I think the SFA would be foolish not to help us as we are the only team outside celtic who could actually have a run in Europe.

We can't even have a run the Scottish League Cup so i don't know where you get that from mate.

  3. All depends on your point of view. We have the old horses, Mohsni is 26, and the we have ...

    Sebastien Faure 22 (*03.01.1991 ) – Contract till 2015

    Kyle McAusland 20 (*19.01.1993 ) – Contract till 2015

    Chris Hegarty 21 (* 13.08.1992 ) – Contract till 2015

    Ross Perry 23 (* 07.02.1990 ) – Contract till 2015

    Luca Gasparotto 18 (* 03.09.1995) – Contract till 2014

Essentially all vying for a CH slot and some are still eligible for the u20s / u21s. We can all argue about the qualities of some of these players, but the fact remains that they are all there and unless moved, in the way of people like Urquart. It is essentially the same as with Gallagher. These players will not develope their skills unless thrown into a competitive environment. We might have thus loaned Urquart and some others (and hopefully will), but this is not just about what the club wants. Urquart could well have been loaned and remained for three more years, only to see his place blocked by newly signed experienced veteran (25+) players ... like Rangers have done for decades. (And before people come up and say that is wrong ... that is the way all great British teams assemble their successful squads. You have to be a very special youth player to break that habit, whether that is considered wrong or not.)

Should we sign Zaliukas, it may spell the end for some of those actually blocking the path of our younger talent, i.e. Perry and Hegarty. Neither of the latter two convinced enough last season.

We could sell or free 4 of them and still not weaken our starting 11. Too many passengers.

  4. It's obviously a long shot, but the club still needs to pursue the possibility with the SFA privately in the meantime because if we did manage to win it and hadn't asked the question, then the SFA would be in a position to tell us we were too late and should have asked/applied earlier.

You may be right Zappa but i still don't think we will the Scottish Cup any time soon.
