  1. Do you think what happened at the last protest should be repeated? Keep your spoon !
  2. Craig, I hope this time you will organize enough self-policing so that no one attempts to enter Ibrox and possibly assault anyone or cause damage.
  3. How does he look now? Do you think we should insist that, if he is found guilty, he should be divested of any league and cup honours he may have won while investing in these 'tax avoidance schemes' ?
  4. At least we have in on record this time that someone asked the SFA to investigate the board.
  5. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rangers-first-pass-one-million-5073385 Rangers First pass one million share threshold - with sights set on becoming Britain's biggest fan-ownership group 16:14, 30 January 2015 By Record Sport Online THEY have set their sights on overtaking the 8,500 members currently boasted by the Foundation of Hearts as they target becoming Britain's biggest fan-ownership group. FAN ownership group Rangers First have followed the Rangers Supporters Trust's Buy Rangers scheme by crossing the one million share threshold. The group is nearing 6,500 contributors each making monthly donations which are used to buy shares. Now they have set their sights on overtaking the 8,500 members currently boasted by the Foundation of Hearts as they target becoming Britain's biggest fan-ownership group. Rangers First director Ricki Neill said: "We are proud to say that in only six months we have managed to secure over one million shares in Rangers. "We have many new members joining by the hour and we currently have 6,474 members - with over 4,000 of them joining up this month alone. "At Rangers First, our main focus is to keep on buying shares in our club so that we can get fans involved with the club. "Rangers First are hoping to break some records in the next few weeks and become the biggest Fan Ownership group in Britain. I would urge all Rangers fans to have a look at Rangers First."
  6. I am not a fan of the RST, but you have to give credit where credit is due. That is a fine statement.
  7. RST are active while other people pay for their legal bills. Why don't you just back off and take comfort in the fact that RF will stand shoulder to shoulder with RST where it matters - during the vote at the EGM?
  8. Latest ... http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/mike-ashley-face-sfa-music-5057288 Mike Ashley to face the SFA music on March 2 over claim he’s a double dealer 11:51, 28 January 2015 By Gary Ralston THE man sitting on the Rangers throne has finally been ordered to appear at Hampden next month on charges he’s wielding too much influence at Ibrox. RANGERS powerbroker Mike Ashley has been summoned to the SFA on March 2 to answer claims he’s a double dealer. The Ibrox club will appear at Hampden a fortnight later to face allegations they have failed to act in good faith by allowing the Sports Direct tycoon to increase his influence at the club. ...

The iplayer wont allow access outwith the UK. Can you give us a sense of what you said?
  10. I don't know exactly. Perhaps he had to bow to the pressure from his own, and other clubs', fans who threatened to withhold their custom if their teams did not vote us out. Just because he voted us out, does not mean that he did not have the foresight to see how the lack of our presence in the SPL would adversely affect his clubs finances.
  11. No, I wouldn't go that far, the possibilities could blow your mind. However, I have oft though that Liewell did not want us in Div. 3. Probably he wanted us in the SPL, but with points reductions and some sort of fine structure for a few seasons. He was never daft enough to assume he could prosper without the blue pound.
  12. Should this deal go through unchallenged then Ashley has effective control of the board and one major source of income for the club. It does not say he has control of ST and ticket sales, advertising or sponsorship. However, the board would and he would have four seats on the board. How does the SFA's rules on dual ownership/control apply to this situation, whereby Ashley has control of the board but does not own a majority of the shares? Is it entirely paranoid enough to assume that this is the exact position that Liewell dreamed of - i.e. Rangers being stable enough to be run within their own means but not rich enough to buy the personnel required to challenge for the league? Newcastle, anyone?
  13. Good for you RDB ... http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/554252/Ronald-De-Boer-Hits-Out-At-Celtic-Fans-Mock-Rangers Ronald De Boer hits out at Celtic fans who mocked Rangers RONALD DE BOER last night hit out at Celtic fans for claiming Rangers are no longer the same club and told them: You’re the only ones who think that. Published: 00:04, Mon, January 26, 2015 By Andrew Dickson De Boer says it would be wrong to underestimate Rangers A group of Hoops supporters took out a newspaper advert over the weekend at a cost of £3,000 to publish a statement saying the Light Blues are a new entity formed in 2012. It also stated a belief the phrase ‘Old Firm’ is now redundant ahead of Sunday’s League Cup semi-final between the two sides at Hampden Park. While some Parkhead fans have distanced themselves from what was printed, those responsible for it are adamant the game will be a first-ever meeting of the teams. De Boer, in Glasgow for Fernando Ricksen’s benefit game, rubbished the claims and has backed the club to rise again, nearly 143 years after their formation. He said: “They are fans and I think only one per cent of people think that way. I think most people think differently and they will be looking forward to this game. “I have always known that there is a giant out there in Rangers that is waiting to burst out. There will be good times again, for sure.” De Boer was one of several ex-stars to dismiss the ad after a crowd of more than 41,000 saw an All Stars side beat a Gers Select 7-4.

  16. I wonder how many players will be put on gardening leave?
  17. Contrition would entice clemency. However, without contrition I am not backpeddling one bit. This is not the behaviour a Rangers fan should exhibit so I would still hammer them. Would you condemn their behaviour?
  18. Another thing that is absolutely certain is that no matter what deflection is used, two Rangers' employees were put in a position that can not be defended. In sixty years of supporting Rangers I have never met a Rangers' fan who would knowingly put a Rangers' employee at risk. Do any of you? That behaviour is not what I expect of an alleged Rangers' fan. As someone said earlier, why would we shoot ourselves in the foot like this? The real enemies are the board, not the employees - an OAP and a mature woman. If those responsible for Friday night's display are Rangers' fans, then come forward and apologize and we can put this behind us.
  19. Far-fetched? ... From the definition of the law - An assault may be constituted by threatening gestures sufficient to produce alarm. From the DR (whether you can believe this or not, I don't know) - http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/police-probe-fighting-protests-ibrox-4998462 Police probe fighting and protests at Ibrox after abandoned Rangers-Hearts match Jan 18, 2015 09:01 By --> POLICE are investigating claims that two Ibrox staff members were assaulted amidst the fighting and protests which took place following Friday's abandoned Rangers-Hearts match. POLICE are looking at CCTV footage to find the fans who broke into Ibrox offices after Friday’s abandoned Rangers-Hearts game . Officers say there will be arrests in the coming days, amid claims that two workers at the stadium – a woman and an elderly man – were assaulted. The incident is alleged to have happened when a small number of fans forced their way into the Argyle House offices to protest against the club’s board . Now, I don't make the law and neither will I be laying charges against anyone. My opinion is that these people should be brought to task for this kind of behaviour. The lady did not sustain injuries from someone just barging through the door. Are you saying that nothing should be done, or that it should be treated as a trifling event?
  20. If we could describe his job as 'Doorman', no doubt part of his duties is to maintain proper decorum in the reception area. Perhaps too, part of his remit is to remove any uninvited or unruly entrants to this reception area by any means necessary. There again he may have decided that the method of entry of these uninvited people was suffice to allow him to act in self defence. Would you like a fly reel with your next fishing pole?
  21. Don't agree Zappa. If you look at the video again, when the first lot barge in and the old man is successful in pushing them back, okay; but then the second wave wth the banner almost push the old man off of his feet and just before they raise the banner you can just catch the lady in the background putting her hands on her head in what looks like an act of anguish. A little later you hear her invite everyone to leave. It must have been after this that she sustained her injuries. However, if the demonstrators had left after the first breech of the door then we could have perhaps accepted that we were watching a display of over-exhuberance but subsequent actions were beyond acceptable. By physically brushing the old man aside as he tries to maintain his position and by causing the lady such distress, this is no longer a breach of the peace but an assault. I hate to see bears getting charged but this is beyond acceptable and they must be forced to face that. The employees are not the board.
  22. From Wikipedia, "In common law, assault is the act of creating apprehension of an imminent harmful or offensive contact with a person. "An assault is carried out by a threat of bodily harm coupled with an apparent, present ability to cause the harm. It is both a crime and a tort and, therefore, may result in either criminal and/or civil liability. Generally, the common law definition is the same in criminal and tort law. There is, however, an additional criminal law category of assault consisting of an attempted but unsuccessful battery. The term is often confused with battery, which involves physical contact. The specific meaning of assault varies between countries, but can refer to an act that causes another to apprehend immediate and personal violence, or in the more limited sense of a threat of violence caused by an immediate show of force. Assault in Scotland is defined more broadly still as any intentional physical contact with another person without their consent; "In Scots Law, assault is defined as an "attack upon the person of another". There is no distinction made in Scotland between assault and battery (which is not a term used in Scots law), although, as in England and Wales, assault can be occasioned without a physical attack on another's person, as demonstrated in Atkinson v. HM Advocate wherein the accused was found guilty of assaulting a shop assistant by simply jumping over a counter wearing a ski mask. The court said: "An assault may be constituted by threatening gestures sufficient to produce alarm. "—Atkinson v. HM Advocate (1987)." I think you can see from the above definition of 'assault' that both the old man and the lady were given cause to be alarmed when the fans broke through the glass door uninvited. They should all be charged with assault. Further, the person(s) - if a successful identification can be made of the culprit(s) - who gave the lady her physical injuries should be charged with aggravated assault.
