How do you know that Calderwood was available or even wanted the job?
-
Motherwell were NOT that much better than us even at 2-0. When you look at the Willie Vass photo ( I can't get it to post ) of McManus scoring from the corner, there were three Rangers' players in a line who did not jump and challenge him. This is correctible defence. This thing is not yet over.
-
Surely the most important thing in the next 24 hrs. is where we will end up playing next season. Everything going forward depends on that.
-
We know this team is not of a class of previous Rangers' teams. However, maybe the first goal and a few breaks can see them rise and perform. C'mon the 'GERS.
-
No, I won't sit this one out. The way I look at it is we have 90 mins. and possibly overtime and maybe penalties left in the season. There is nothing you can possibly say or do at this point in time that will in any way have a bearing on the result. The way I see it is the best thing any Rangers' supporter can do at this point is turn up, at whatever place you can, and give the team your very best heartfelt support. If we win I'll be all over you, and if we lose I'll put you on ignore. NOTHING is going to change between now and tomorrow, except maybe the helicopter changes direction. Come on the 'Gers.
-
Probably the support realise that we shall not complete our transition to a world class power all in one season, and that we shall need to take it in steps. Probably the only manager that meets your criteria above is José Mourinho, and if we were able to get him we'd have no money left to get any players - rubbish Scottish ones or others. I'm glad the board doesn't have to listen to you either.

Since the ball did not pass through the plane of the boundaries of the pitch after it struck the bar, but instead went up in the air, and had no further form of direct force from any player other than the original strike of the ball, the ball is still in play until it comes to rest. Remember Jelavic's goal against them in the cup final. It hit one post, came back into play and squirmed across the goal line just inside the opposite post before Izaquire could reach it. There is a god.

Does everything that guy says in the commentary translate into - "F**kin eedjit goalie !!"

This guy says that those being charged are only for operations in the Americas. What about Europe, Africa and Asia - are there more investigations required? tmanfred@businessinsider.com (Tony Manfred) Business Insider - May 27, 2015 The most staggering part of FIFA's $150 million bribery scandal The US Department of Justice's corruption charges against nine FIFA officials and five corporate executives is one of the most meaningful steps ever taken to clean up the organization. The most staggering part of the arrests isn't that there is some sort of single, shocking allegation here that will topple FIFA, the international governing body for soccer. It's that these allegations, as broad and all-encompassing as they seem, are only related to a corner of the larger soccer universe. The scope of the investigation is important. The bribery and corruption charges, which the DOJ says involved more than $150 million over 21 years, are almost exclusively related to tournaments in North America (organized by CONCACAF) and South America (organized by CONMEBOL) that are second- and third-tier competitions in the grand scheme of things. We're talking about bribery related to CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers, the CONCACAF Gold Cup, the CONCACAF Champions League, the Copa América Centenario, the CONMEBOL Copa América, the CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores, and the Copa do Brasil. The host selection for the 2010 World Cup and the 2011 FIFA presidential election are the only FIFA events mentioned that exist outside of the Americas. There are no charges related to similar continental tournaments in Europe, Africa, or Asia, much less the controversial bidding process for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. All nine current and former FIFA executives who got arrested are from the Americas, including CONCACAF president Jeffrey Webb. The reason for this, if the reports are to be believed, is that disgraced ex-CONCACAF official Chuck Blazer served as an informant who allowed the FBI important access to the inner workings of the continent's main governing body. In a statement, US Attorney General Loretta Lynch called FIFA's alleged corruption "rampant, systemic, and deep-rooted." If she is to be believed, it stands to reason that Africa, Europe, and Asia are no more or less corrupt than the Americas. The DOJ didn't touch the widespread corruption allegations related to the 2022 World Cup, which include an allegation from a whistleblower who claims she witnessed three different FIFA executive committee members taking $1.5 million bribes from the Qataris at a conference in Angola before the vote. After the arrests, a FIFA spokesperson said this was "good day" for FIFA. He said the 2018 World Cup in Russia and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar would go on as planned, as would Friday's presidential election. The implication is that FIFA just needs to root out its bad apples, and then get back to business as usual. But what these allegations depict is a system of corruption, not just a few corrupt individuals. The DOJ points out that "two generations of soccer officials abused their positions of trust for personal gain." If this is happening across continents and generations in the Americas, it's fair to speculate if it's happening everywhere. Acting US attorney Kelly Currie put it best. "After decades of what the indictment alleges to be brazen corruption, organized international soccer needs a new start," she said, " — a new chance for its governing institutions to provide honest oversight and support of a sport that is beloved across the world, increasingly so here in the United States." We've reached out to FIFA for comment.

I agree with Goian. He did stick his nose in a few times.

If the retail contract lasts for seven years and Ashley has given us an interest free loan which has an indeterminate due date, how much money is he losing by not lending money at today's rate of interest? It's nice to be nice so if Ashley wants his money released from an ironclad contract then perhaps he could be persuaded to look an another ironclad contract, the Rangers Retail contract, and re-negotiate a mutually agreeable contract withthe club. There is no danger to the club, as far as badge rights etc. are concerned, as long as the loan is eventually paid. While Ashley had control of the club via Easedale, L & L, et al he probably thought he was safe with the no interest loan as that was his modus operandi with Newcastle. Some guys when they stick their noses into plans can really screw things up, eh?

I'm pretty sure that Miller and Clark will be our forwards on Thu. and possibly Boyd will be a substitute. I wonder how many of the sold-out stadium will agree with your argument as we wait to demolish Motherwell. Sold out, eh? Next season will probably be different, but for now - I'll take them, gladly !!!

If clubs want to merge that is their business not yours. Who the hell are you to tell one of these supporters who make up a 400/500/600 crowd that they can't go and enjoy watch their local team? When we got our arse kicked by the SPL teams voting us out of their league, and then had to realise that we were at the mercy of the other small SFL clubs as to whether we got a licence to play or not, it doesn't look like you learned a lot about showing arrogance to those who prop up Scottish football. I'll keep these smaller clubs because when we are at the top again and pulling all of Scottish football behind us, somewhere in those smaller clubs will be another Jimmy Baxter or Ian MacMillan. F*ck, do you never learn that not all of Scottish football is Chelsea?

One other thing to keep in mind. When Green took over he may have fell flat on his face if it was not for Ally giving the fans the go-ahead to support Green. Without Ally we may not have had a club, we were so suspicious after White. As Zappa says the contract was a carry over from past times. I'll stick with the "We don't do walking away" bit and pay the man his money. I'm pretty sure we won't be doing any contracts like this again for a while.

That might not be good. I thought Mohsni was at fault for Hibs goal today. Before the pass was hit in to Cummings, Mohsni had backed off of Cummings by about 4/5 yards which gave Cummings the space to whip in the shot. In the box you need to mark your man closely. I don't know who would replace McGregor but if Mohsni has to play, stick him in the middle of the park for his tackling and only bring him into the box to defend set pieces with his heading ability.
-
Do you mean inciteful as in starting a riot, or insightful as in GS sussing a compromise for Ally to save the legend status?
-
I really don't think this is very dignified by King. If he really wants Ally to give charitably, he should remember that true charity is given anonymously.

Dave, That estimate you had to bring us up to make a challenge to C1888c of a little north of £25M, I think you better take it all the way to the North Pole. There will be no help from this lot of youth. Outclassed, and they've chucked it.

This is like watching the first team. Goalkeeper won't command his area. Shaky defence is giving everyone the jitters. Midfield is ineffective in that it doesn't know whether to attack or stay home and help the defence. Lone striker running around on his own. Lets's hope they can turn this around in the second half. p.s. the second C1888c goal was a beauty.

I downloaded it, scanned it and when I tried to install it the installer indicated compatibility problems. I'm using Windows 8.1. There was a link to Microsoft, but they were no help. Thanks anyway.
