Graeme Souness: 'Not impossible' for Gerrard to beat Celtic to the title
barca72 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
How do you think Celtic were able to win all of those odd-goal games over the last seven years, albeit with a few referee's assists? -
Liewell wasn't content just to dominate us on the park, he had to rub our noses in it. There's always a point of excess and where the worm turns. Let's Go.

A more encompassing motto perhaps ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FulFejUMZTI

This last statement in particular sounds awfully like the reasoning used by Rod McKenzie of Harper McLeod and lawyers for the SPFL - being myopic and all.
-
I agree, but unless DK can do more than shed light on the situation - e.g. court action - then they may still quiver under Liewell's influence.
-
They are waiting to see what Liewell's response will be and hence they can judge the relative strength of each side before they jump.

Maybe those that are left on the board are now confident of more investment and as a result feel more emboldened to assert themselves without fear or favour

Tims allocation cut for next season -official

Maybe the police objection to a 3 p.m. kickoff on a Sat. will be removed, since the amount of scum around who can cause trouble on a matchday will be so greatly reduced. -
ZINEDINE ZIDANE has backed Steven Gerrard to be a success at Rangers
barca72 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Name any manager, experienced or not, who would not be a massive gamble or even be an outright foolish appointment at this juncture. You can't, because the intangibles are as yet unknown. How many managers in various leagues who were experienced still blew their assignments? If you agree with the above then SBS's statement is rendered as pure hyperbole. -

We could have tried to bring Walter back and it would have been a gamble. With the appointment of Stevie G. hope for a resurgent future(whether justified or not) has been infused in the minds of the fans - just in time for ST renewals and all that entails. In the month previous to Stevie G.'s appointment none of the names being touted for the new manager were being greeted with a majority of fan endorsement. This guy is at least a winner. Good luck Stevie G. 'Let's Go'. -

Remember these are Sun headlines. Regardless, they should be pinned on the dressing room wall as soon as training starts.

Maybe he wasn't supporting them, but instead was scouting their strengths and weaknesses for next season. Aye right ... -
A person might wonder why Celtic are not aiding the very club who were their feeder club for many years, and who along with their fans ran interference for Celtic against Rangers in the 2012 SPL vote

Objection noted, petal. I'll try not to use it again if it'll keep you healthy.

FFS. What does being a supporter mean? Does it mean you hate the other team more than you love Rangers? Our fans want to follow their team !!! We don't do walking away. Just beat every other team on the field and we all shall have done our jobs.

Rangers charged by SFA over 2011/12 UEFA licence issue
barca72 replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Our fans are not politicians, they are just passionately loyal. They wouldn't allow that action to happen and instead would demand their allocation be sold to them. I base that opinion on these published figures ... Highest away support in the UK this season... Rangers: 157,662 Leeds United:149,239 Celtic: 146,985 Aston Villa: 131,283 Manchester United: 115,432 Liverpool: 106,847 Loyal -

Lennon has been issued with a notice of complaint after he ran onto the pitch in celebration of Jamie Maclaren's stoppage-time goal which secured a point for Hibs in the 5-5 draw at Easter Road. He was then quickly ushered down the tunnel by fourth official Bobby Madden before the final whistle blew. Lennon is already sitting on a suspended two-match ban after a bust-up with referee Kevin Clancy during his side's fixture against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park in February. Rangers drew 5-5 with Hibernian He was given a five-match ban for misconduct in the aftermath of that game and missed three matches with immediate effect. He was told the remaining two-game suspension would only be applied if he committed misconduct again before the end of 2018. An SFA disciplinary hearing will take place on Monday, May 21.

Rangers charged by SFA over 2011/12 UEFA licence issue
barca72 replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Hibs cut our allocation. Our board didn't argue. Agree that we might only sell 250 and send the rest back with 14 days to go before kickoff, but can you honestly see our support not want to follow the team - anywhere? Look what happened to D. Utd when they gambled with the blue pound. Karma, baby!! -

I suppose there is a reason for everything. Straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak ... http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/16222696.___They_make_it_personal__don___t_they______Neil_Lennon_hits_out_at__sectarian__Rangers_fans_after_on-pitch_celebration/?ref=mr&lp=2 2 hrs ago Neil Lennon hits out at 'sectarian' Rangers fans after on-pitch celebration Neil Lennon 22 comments NEIL Lennon says he should escape punishment for his on-pitch celebration after seeing his side seal a 5-5 draw against Rangers after accusing the Rangers support of targeting him with sectarianism. The Northern Irishman darted onto the Leith pitch after seeing Jamie Maclaren levelled up an incredible affair in stoppage time. He was quickly ushered down the tunnel by fourth official Bobby Madden before the final whistle blew. The incident is likely to see Lennon - already sitting on a suspended two-match ban his bust-up with referee Kevin Clancy at Rugby Park back in February - land in fresh bother. But the Hibs boss insists his aeroplane-style celebration was merely his response to the taunts aimed at him from the away end. "Well they make it personal don't they?," he said. "You all hear it. "They are singing sectarian songs at me. It's just a little bit of 'have some of that'. "It was worth it. Trust me. Bobby was fine about it. I should not get a ban for that. I was just letting them know how pleased I was to get the equaliser. "I enjoyed the moment. It was a big jumbo jet there." The build-up to the last-day clash had been dominated by Lennon's threat to quit his job following Hibs' midweek defeat to Hearts. But the former Celtic boss admitted he had "spat the dummy" after that derby defeat before reiterating his commitment to the Leith cause. Speaking after seeing his side end the campaign in fourth spot, he said: "There has been speculation, but I caused the speculation. There's no issue with the board. "I wanted to break into that bracket of Aberdeen and Rangers and we have come up short. "Fourth is acceptable for some people, not for me." Lennon's summery of the action as "absolutely bonkers" just about summed up as astonishing game. Gers looked like they were set to be blown away as Florian Kamberi, Scott Allan and Jamie Maclaren put Hibs 3-0 up after a 22-minute blitz. That left the hosts needing just three more goals to steal third place from the Ibrox men on a final day packed with drama. But the Light Blues mounted a stunning fightback with strikes from James Tavernier, Jordan Rossiter, Bruno Alves, Jason Holt and Josh Windass. However, another Maclaren goal sent Gers' nerves jangling and with Jimmy Nicholl's men down to 10 after seeing Holt sent-off late on, Hibs' on-loan Darmstadt frontman prodded home at the death to the delight of his manager. Gers had to better Aberdeen's result at Celtic Park to claim second spot but it is the Dons who finish runners-up after a 1-0 win in Glasgow. New Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard is expected to perform a clear out when he takes over next month. But caretaker boss Nicholl believes some of his men may have saved their Gers career with their fightback. He said: "All in all, all I can say is that it has been an eventful three games. "They have shown a bit of character, a bit of ability as well, over the season and it depends on who is going to stay and who is not going to stay. "The new manager will have seen something in some of the players today."
