And this kind of proves my point about it isnt the message that causes the issue, but the way it is presented, just as your post here is, all attack and blame.

It isn't always the message that is the problem, but the way it has been delivered. I think that has been an issue through out the campaign against the board is the way people have tried to get their point known, and also the wording they have used.

Malcolm Murray: Rangers won't survive unless I'm voted back
j1mgg replied to j1mgg's topic in Rangers Chat
He is using the information given to him, then adding a huge amount of scaremongering on top. What makes him think he can do any better, considering he has already been chairman this year. Looks like this is the final push for them to try and scare people into voting for them, along with SoS organising the protests and threats of boycotts.- 36 replies

He and ex-board member Paul Murray – who is also a member of the group that is trying to win control at Ibrox – met with representatives of 60 Rangers supporters clubs in Belfast last night. And he didn't sugar coat the message that an institution that had designs on being kings of Europe less than 20 years ago remains on the precipice – 18 months after it entered administration. The future can be bright, however, with ambitions to play in a European Super League down the line – but only if the club is on a secure footing. "I personally think that the club is in danger if we don't get a win here," said Malcolm, who is likely to return as chairman if the vote on December 19 goes the way of his group rather than the current board being re-elected. "I don't see how it's going to be funded. The official statement from the last fans meeting with the current board said that they would have £1m cash left in April. "They spent quite a lot of that already in pay-outs so I don't know how much longer it will be before it runs out – probably before Easter if things don't change dramatically or unless they have investors lined up, which they haven't said they have. "We do have, both private and institutional investors, who will back us." The picture in Govan has never looked bleaker. Craig Whyte bought the club for a mere £1 in May 2011 from David Murray. By February the following year it was in administration and within six months Rangers found itself in the Scottish Third Division for the first time in its illustrious 140 year history. While things are improving on the pitch after last season's promotion success, off the field uncertainty remains. Paul and Malcolm are working to put Rangers back on an even keel and rallying the support of the club's Northern Ireland fanbase is crucial to them – hence the reason why they made the trip across the Irish Sea. Paul Murray said: "These are the customers of the club and unlike an English club, in Scotland the fans are the lifeblood of the club with the money they spend on season tickets, merchandise etc. "What I find disappointing is that last Thursday in Glasgow nobody from the current board came to address the fans and they didn't even reply to the email invite to come to Belfast, which I think is a really shoddy way to treat the customers."The fans saved the club last year and to not engage with them just isn't right." Their attempts to gain control of Rangers have met a number of barriers already. Paul was removed from the board almost three years ago. Malcolm was ousted as chairman earlier this year. They are, however, refusing to give up. Even in the last few weeks they have to go to the Court of Session in Edinburgh to win the nominations at the AGM. "I want to get involved to help save the club," said Malcolm (pictured). "This time last year there was a short period when we thought that things were looking pretty good. We raised £22m, had a clean balance sheet, had full asset ownership. Unfortunately with all of our difficulties most of that cash has disappeared on non-investment activities. "Investment activities mean spending money on the stadium or players – that's what a football club does – but the money has been spent elsewhere and it needs tight cash control for the future, new funding – which we have access to -and get the faith of the fans back." "This puts us in a position to go to any of the institutional investors who are still wavering and say we have the customers overwhelmingly behind our group to clean this up for the future. That's why it's important. "I was an institutional fund manager for over 30 years. In 30 years of trying to sort companies out this is the most complex situation I have ever seen, Ending up in the Court of Sessions in Edinburgh to get nominations at an AGM is outrageous and a waste of company funds. It could have been done months ago." It's only five years since Rangers were in the Uefa Cup final. Twenty years ago this season they were in what was effectively a Champions League semi-final against Marseille. Those days can return according to the Malcolm. He said: "Anything can happen, but we have to be in financial health to be involved." That's my mind made up then

It looks like there is no point in an agm as if one group of fans don't get their way they will continue to cause disharmony. I expect an egm to be try and called in January.

Will their be a charge for this, and is it a wise idea to have the 4 directors there from the PM camp, or are they also inviting g the directors from the current board, as it looks like this may just be a money spinner for someone or a pep rally for the PM camp, as I am sure they need one just now to get their spirits up.

I believe it will be because this thread was started in regards to SoS, and one of their 3 points was about the sale of Ibrox. But as happens in all threads now it always gets changed to the board stolen this, or Paul Murray has done that, and the minority of the time nothing is backed up by evidence. I would like to know what this guy that went down to London's background is and why investors would even consider meeting him
-
What is this guys background and why would investors want to speak to him considering he really has no skelp with any going on at rangers, and in the scale of things the money these guys have invested in rangers will be small time compared to what there other interests are.
-
So really it was SoS on SSN. What investors would this be that he is meeting with, current or future?
-
Looks like a three way tie One outlet says he will decide over the next few days Another says rangers will give home 24 hours And another says he has already told jectes the job This basically sums up the media in this country
-
They need to make clear their aims and also what their alternatives are. Also one of their current aims is for Ibrox not to be sold and leased back, does this mean they will be protesting at every home game for the rest of their lives? I think the "share if you care" part is a bit disrespectful as well, implying if you don't agree with them then you don't care.

I can see his point though, Paul Murray hasn't exactly been clear about his backers, who are the names of all the people behind the groups backing him? There is one thing he has been clear about though, and that's if his group wins, then Jim McColl will ha e f all to do with rangers going forward.

David Murray, Craig Whyte, Charles Green, The Easdales
j1mgg replied to Ser Barristan Selmy's topic in Rangers Chat
We were automatically found guilty about the EBTs and then the press just made up any god gamn figure and this scared off potential investors and was probably the reason Murray was forces to sell up. If we had of been treated fairly then Murray may even of still been in charge of the club. -
A point to raise with one of his answers is about him being on the board when the debt was reduced. So which is it to be He was a non exec director and really had no say against Murray He was part of reducing that debt The debt was reduced when Lloyd's puy someone of the board. What is it about all the he, he, he in the questions? I just hope we can get a majority shareholder owning the club again as there is too much rubbish with all these small share holders.

Gers fans chief urges McColl camp to land knockout blow on Board
j1mgg replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Until McColl says he is going to be part of rangers future then anything he says about rangers future can inky be taken with a pinch of salt as he will have no say. This is the part I still don't understand. -
Or possibly they can't find any dirt on the people behind these groups, or they aren't the people they thought were behind the groups. It is easier and works to their advantage if they keep the names secret if they can't find any dirt on them, and keep the rumours circulating that is is Craig White that owns both holding.

Should definitely be looking at our scouting system and getting in some young foreigners that will play every game and sell them on to the championship, but we have been saying this for years.

RST - Jim McColl and Paul Murray to meet three fan groups
j1mgg replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I really shouldn't of got my hopes up, after the questions they aimed at the current board I thought we might of got a lot more out of MM/PM/JM, but we got diddly squat and just seemed like how a chit chat would be after a proper meeting would go. Very disappointed and not really made me want to vote for these guya -
Not really what unexpected and lacked in direct questions, was more of a chat chit about what we would all like to happen one way or another. No input of their plans or what they expect to do and maybe how they would do it.

That's is a very good point. I just see a man that has said he won't invest any money and won't be having any part innday to day running of the club, which kind if takes away the wealth and business acumen theories. I could see if it was Dave king as he is someone that is willing to play apart in the rebuilding.

I would just like to see why rangers fans think so highly of Jim McColl. Is it just because of his money?

On a side note, does anyone know how much Purslow was on at Liverpool? We will have to see what happens tomorrow, but if the names are released, I am sure there will be a task force already on the marks to get digging dirt on them, if they haven't already started. Maybe what tonights meeting is all about.
