    I think that is very fair critique SA. I would see such engagement as a Home Guard rearguard action akin to holding the fort until the big guns arrive. The big guns I refer to are the Club themselves entering the fray and forcing the necessary change and attitude with what I believe is very much an institution of Rangers bashing. Is there really anything else we can do till that time, if ever arrives ?

    I dont know if you have twitter SA - but the likes of Spiers and Tom English in particular clearly engage with the TRS guys - they know if they write something which is open to challenge they will be subjected to such challenge and often ridicule before a watching world. When TRS talk about "engaging" it doesnt necessarily mean acquiescing but challenging in such a way that they are forced to respond.

    I agree re engagement amms - its one of the things TRS have demonstrated is particularly effective.

    I thought I had better issue a warning to all those Rangers haters out there (as a preparation for bad news) – after all the new industry standard is to “manage disappointment” Word reaches me that Rangers are to be nominated for the latest series of Humanitarian Awards. And is it any small wonder I ask ? After all what other organisation can claim to have produced in the apathetic and previously disinterested such a sense of social responsibility with a “refreshing” and new found concern for our armed forces, our hospitals, our school children’s textbooks ? Such a ground swell of social responsibility and care has even extended beyond our shores with concern now being expressed for those in South Africa. It truly is a global phenomenon – the birth of an international social responsibility with a common denominator – Big Bad Rangers. Perhaps ironic that those whose choice of Rangers bashing weapon was “Rangers prevented our front line forces being equipped” were amongst those who wished to make spurious and false allegations against our armed forces at Ibrox last month. You really couldn't make it up. And on the subject of making things up it is perhaps an appropriate time to mention Dumb and Dumber aka Spiers and English. For Rangers services to social responsibility have extended to these fine two gentlemen of the press and awakened in them a sense of morality regarding the prospect of Dave King returning to Rangers. But this new found moral argument still appears to be only half awake. As Operation Yewtree continues to bring fresh revelation and accusation with regard to child abuse, in particular those who were complicit in its covering up and the suppression of victims complaints, not one of these moral guardians of the press appear to be concerned that there are individuals connected with Celtic FC, and who are still subject to very public adoration and respect, who were actively complicit in the covering up of child abuse at Celtic Boys Club. It's easy to see where Noel Coward was coming from when he uttered “”The higher the building the lower the morals” I don't normally humour Graham “Rangers are a new club” Spiers but I will make an exception on this one occasion. Id rather we had died with our history rather than have to live with theirs. On the civil war front, I was reminded this week, courtesy of “Old Reliable” (BBC Scotland) how out of touch some of our current and prospective directors are with our support. I am yet to hear from any of the incumbent or prospective factions what their plans are to defend this club and its support from its enemies. “Increased revenue streams” etc etc etc tend to be ineffective weapons against those whose sole aim, by any means, is the destruction of our club. I am yet to meet a Rangers fan anywhere who is not concerned about the attacks on our club and support. It is one of the few things upon which our support can find some universal agreement. On the good news front our ever decreasing board and communications department means that there will probably be a blazer for everyone the only question is – brown or black brogues ?

    I have a suspicion Frankie that the boardroom battle may be won - not by the quality of the Requisitioner's statements - but more the poverty of Irvine's responses.

    The 2 guys from VB & RM who successfully raised the action which the BBC Trust eventually ruled on, indicated otherwise to me AMMS. I quizzed them on the processes and format which they had to go through to bring their complaint to fruition. As you are aware the BBC complaints system is a multi stage process which involves escalation of the complaint, should resolution not be found in the initial stages. This happened right the way through various management levels at BBC Scotland with the complaint being constantly escalated, as the BBC Scotland managers determining on the various stages continued to rule in favour of, for want of a better term - the defendants rather than the pursuers. When the ruling eventually came through from the BBC Trust there was considerable resistance to it - even their business editor got in on the act via social media. And it continues to this day with the likes of Spence - and the failed investigations into him as well as this latest incident.

    Brian is a Rangers fan and shareholder who has been very much the involved in the campaign to remove the current board. He appears to have close links to Jim McColl

    This is the quote I am referring to from the minutes - PLG that to me reads like its in respect of the groups represented at the meeting. If I have mis-interpreted it and it does mean the general support then it still means he does not have the backing of all the fans.

    He claimed to have the backing of the fans Zap. The RST minutes of the meeting suggested otherwise.

    Perhaps they want the truth CB - there were certainly major inconsistencies with the content of that interview and what was published on the RST website re their Q & A.

    Well its certainly going to result in a deluge of protests - I wonder when those at BBC Trust will initiate an investigation into what is going on up here.     I wonder Frankie if they are aware (perhaps even care) that the volume of complaints is a performance indicator ?

    Its simple CB - while I like any other Bear would like to know - I respect the right of investors to have their anonymity respected

    Things are certainly not right Zap - and Im sure Green has a lot to answer for - the full extent probably we will never know. Perhaps he didnt co-operate with the enquiry and the CF revelation is accurate. But even accepting all of that - my own experience is that suspects rarely co-operate in an enquiry - that does not stop investigators getting to the bottom of things. That statement from PM - to me at any rate has the mark of an investigator satisfied with the enquiry they have carried out - and of course they would have still been paid had they not reached a conclusion - they could easily have justified that with a statement that it was impossible to reach a conclusion due to lack of co-operation. But I go back to Regan and the SFA - and its not basing anything on their competency - more on their hatred of Rangers and Green in particular. Regan said the SFA could launch their own investigation should the PM one not satisfy - the fact that it did suggests to me at any rate, it was thorough.
