Im not suggesting anything, Im stating its my belief that it is utterly hypocritical for a member of an organisation who lauded CG to criticise others who did. Furthermore it is totally unrepresentative, as well as divisive, to label any forum as Pro-Green or whatever. I very early had my doubts about CG (most notably after his "Charles Green's Rangers" comments) and wrote several unfavourable blogs about him which were published on RM. I dont recall there being unanimous objection to any of these - quite the opposite in fact.

Yes the term "splendid isolation" springs to mind. For me the book "Follow we will" was something of a watershed. Seeing the injustices meted out on our club in such a succinct and informative manner - gave me a whole new aspect to that "hatred" - I now view it as more of a righteous indignation - and one which requires to be satisfied before we can return to any sort of normality.

As per usual an excellent and enjoyable read Andy. I think we can only move past the hate when there is a modicum of restorative justice applied. Sadly I see no signs of it.

If only all blogs were written this way - superb summation Frankie. Without doubt one of the best pieces I have read on our current travails.

There is a huge difference - they are unelected.

Im not asking if you trust the current board RS - I dont either but thats not the issue - Im asking for evidence of sale & lease back.
-
Then why not the fans groups leaders themselves who are democratically elected to represent the fans ? Surely that would make far more sense.
-
Sorry Bearger but is that not going a bit off topic ? We are discussing the allegations of sale & lease back and asking to see the grounds for such allegations. Thats not being critical of SOS nor supporting the current board - just a desire to see what has given rise to some very serious allegations.
-
Where is the evidence to support the allegation re sale & lease back - has anyone seen it yet ?
-
Here is the problem - polarised and entrenched views. Is it now criticism to ask for evidence to support serious allegations ?
-
I have to say trueblue makes some relevant points - whilst I admire the tenacity and dedication of the SOS guys - has anyone actually seen the evidence regarding sale & lease back ?
-
It changed again - I think in 2002 compo.

Barca Im hoping, probably forlornly, that his belief that he is bomb proof may backfire on him. If he remains in post then any credibility (if any) the SFA has remaining is completely gone.

Daisuke Nakajima quickly packed his bags whilst his editor’s secretary arranged his flights – a 6000 mile journey to cover a story of global proportions. For a country with a history and heritage as rich as Japan’s it was seldom a story emerged from the West with a tale of honour, which could catch the imagination of a country reared in the tales and traditions of the Samurai. But this one most certainly had. Nakajima was returning to Scotland , not to the the city of culture, nor the home of the Scottish Parliament but to of all places Elgin, to report on Scottish football. But this story was not about players, teams, pitches but about fans – a certain type of fan. The type of fans who deserve to be called “extraordinary”, “loyal”, “devoted”. Fans whose actions prove to be the catalyst to reporters journeying across continents. The stories of the Rangers support has now crossed continents seizing the imagination of all who hear. In a country where football has become toxic – they are the antidote. Let us talk not about impersonators – for these truly are the greatest fans in the world. Bar none. Treated with disdain and with malevolence Rangers found themselves consigned to the lowest echelons of Scottish football. But that did nothing to deter the loyal. Still they came in their thousands, following and preserving a footballing institution. It was not for glory – for there was little to be had but out of devotion to a football club. If they had to play in the streets then the pavements would have been brimming. This army of blue legions defied the hatred and machinations of a country, a footballing authority and a less than sympathetic, or impartial media. While others falsified attendance figures, offered two for one ticket deals and extended season ticket sales, the Rangers support broke attendance record after attendance record. On many a week the loyal army following Rangers would outnumber all the SPL attendances. Whose laughing now ? Nakajima never got to see Rangers at Elgin. The match was cancelled due to the demand from the loyal Rangers fans for tickets. But for Nakajima this in itself proved to be a bigger story than the one he had hoped for. Rangers – The Legend goes from strength to strength (even in Japan)

Tom English: The way of things between Celtic and Rangers
D'Artagnan replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Superb article from Mr English. Wonder if he will be spending some years in the wilderness now along with Keevins. -
Bluebear I think in the "evolution" of the discussion has somewhat distorted my original intent - or maybe I just didnt explain it very well - but my use of the word morality was regarding the actions of the warring factions who had examined the other sides candidates thoroughly and are not short in exposing any apparent character of integrity flaws. And yet both sides appear to rally round DK with no such examination or concern.

I take it Ms Finlay didnt support Celtic then when the board made a conscious decision to cover up child abuse at Celtic Boys Club to protect "the good name of the club".

Making me feel old with that line old friend - a lot of water under the bridge since then. We have been proven right on a few things and wrong in others. Life is a continual learning curve for us - all irrespective of age.

Im tempted to post that the closet capitalist has been "outed".....but I'll defer and give you the benefit of the doubt that you are merely acknowledging the rising power of Mammon. ;-)
