“There’s no getting away from how dominant Celtic are at the moment. They are on their own just now. Allow me to re-phrase that for you Owen,... They are out on their own just now

I thought particularly via Templeton and to lesser extent Aird we played some particularly effective football - most notably on the deck. Also with the aforementioned offering themselves so readily both Law and Black appeared to find more space and the accuracy of their passing appeared to improve greatly compared to recent weeks. What was of concern however was how out of touch with the game Jon Daly looked when we played this kind of football.

Supporters Direct chief calls on Rangers fans to unite...

I think it will be a very eventful meeting Frankie - I'm really sorry I am unable to attend. I hope that the transaction of the business of the meeting will not be overshadowed by a continuation of some of the tit for tat nonsense we have seen in recent days. -

I can assure you I dont mean to offend anyone nor do I wish to turn this into a RST bashing exercise. But could perhaps the somewhat negative image of the RST and in particular its leadership, convinced those who wish to see fan ownership become a reality for our club - that to bring this idea to fruition they need to chose a different model from the RST ? -
Thanks Pete - I will remember that the next time I suffer from clumsy fingers !

“There’s a well upon the hill from our ancient past Where an age is standing still holding strong and fast And there’s those that try to tame it and to carve it into stone Ah but words cannot extinguish it however hard they’re thrown” I have to confess to giving in to one of my vices on Saturday. Despite now declaring myself a non-smoker, if truth be told I occasionally indulge in the odd puff, perhaps about 8 times a year in total.I have to say Saturday’s indulgence in the Wee Rangers Club had unexpected benefits. Those who are familiar with the “Smoking Area” at this establishment will know that the gantry affords a view of the Campsie Fells, with the peak of Dumgoyne just visible. These hills stand like towering guardians watching over our city. They are to Glasgow what the Pentlands are to Edinburgh, the Sidlaws to Dundee and the Ochils to Stirling. They have an enduring quality to them. earned by maintaining such a presence despite the ravages of nature throwing everything it has at them over countless years. And that thought comforted me in lieu of the latest attack on our club by Phil MacGiollaBhain, referring to us as “Stalag Sevco”. This one can be added to his previous soundbites of “Herrenvolk” “Klan” and “Underclass”. It’s not particularly difficult to see the theme which is developing here. Sadly. Mr MacGiollaBhain has been assisted in his endeavours by some in the mainstream media who have been only too willing to repeat such soundbites. For a self-confessed Celtic fan Mr MacGiollaBhain appears to spend a lot of his time writing and tweeting about Rangers. In fact his book – Downfall – not surprisingly is about Rangers. And whilst many cite the Sun comments about Mr MacGiollaBhain as being “tarred with a sickening sectarian brush” perhaps the Scotsman’s review of his book is more telling :- “The sirens started to sound at the first of several references to Rangers supporters as “the Ibrox klan”. The author makes no attempt to disguise his hatred for Rangers, stating at one stage “please let this football club die”. And yet he yearns to be taken seriously as a journalist, repeatedly complaining that no-one from the mainstream media ever calls him. As the tale unravels, Mac Giolla Bhain starts to disappear up his own rear, declaring: “I am aware of my own contribution and I rather like the guy I see in the shaving mirror every morning.” These are two classic mistakes: believing you are the story, and wanting a story to be true. When it’s not.” Which makes you wonder – if a man who “makes no attempt to disguise his hatred for Rangers” – can carve a career for himself courtesy of that hatred – shouldn’t a few more sirens be sounding in this country of ours ?

Of course not, nor would I give up on the concept of fan ownership (I was an inaugural member of the RST) But that doesnt stop people demanding, and rightly expecting, correct governance and conduct with regard to both. I think all too often some within the RST blame the haters & detractors when in actual fact the real damage seems to be mostly self-inflicted. -

Hildy Im sorry but I think that totally misses the point many on here are alluding to. Its the serious infighting within the Trust itself culminating in this latest scenario - which is, and going back to the original point - "devaluing" the Trust. -
I can honestly say that home or away I have never heard such abuse of JD.

I think you will find 3909 plg is not referring to me. At my age by 11am I'm normally shouting (of sorts) at my wife for misplacing my teeth and trying to track down the bar steward who pissed in my boxers whilst I was sleeping. Old age has not come well to me. -

I honestly think at times plg you are too involved (probably too passionate in fairness to you) to see the wood for the trees. There is a world of difference from "fellow Rangers fans" raising concerns regarding the RST and the way it is conducting its affairs, from those who attack the RST without foundation. I would remind you that some of the former were inaugural members who still believe in the ethos and dream of fan ownership but recognise that will not be possible in an RST which cannot operate in an open and transparent way. -

So money which should have been working for the RST and their members was in fact sitting in the account of someone else - yet 2 chartered accounts see nothing wrong with this ? -

RS I was commenting, as requested by Chilledbear, on why I felt the devaluation had a permanence about it and why it was erroneous to attribute that purely down to some people's personal dislike of Mark Dingwall or the RST -

I think it was you who suggested there needed to be an element of "balance" - to the facts I posted - I was asked for my views and duly obliged. I think though your comments have served to highlight why there was, and continues to be, a problem with devaluation. -

To be honest GS - that kind of attitude does little to instill confidence. Everything I have posted is factual - but you seem to be offering a plea in mitigation that the circumstances leading up to the financial irregularity - somehow justifies it.
