  1. Hildy as you state - you are "preaching to the converted" so to speak re FO - however I fail to see how the failings of various authorities and organisations would be any less palatable or acceptable if we had a more robust form of ownership.
  2. Of course it takes account of a tribal football climate - the grievance mindset you refer to is expressed in respect of the SPL chiefs who acted on a presumption of guilt to ensure a draconian and excessive punishment for our club was meted out, a media who have completely failed to exercise any semblance of objectivity in the way the matter was reported and finally a supposedly professional government investigative agency who have systematically failed in all areas as an organisation - even down to the safe care and storage of evidence. From so called professionals I expect a standard of treatment, for not just our club, but any other club or even organisatio,n for such professionals to rise above football tribalism. Furthermore I think you are being considerably generous to those you refer to as "Non-Rangers fans". I would respectfully suggest that many were driven by far more than just a motivation to kick us whilst we were down . The conduct of Whyte, who behaved in both a rogue, and I would be willing to wager criminal manner are the reason for our current travails. If anyone is uncomfortable with this suggestion i will be more than happy to qualify it and demonstrate how his reported conduct fulfils the essential elements of fraud- pretend, induce & obtain. Yes there was considerable cause and effect but the major component part of our downfall was the conduct of one rogue owner.
  3. So irrespective of our position as the biggest and the best, and the self-inflicted failings we brought upon ourselves, are we not entitled to the fundamental principle of equality before the law ? Should we not have been entitled to. at the very least. a presumption of innocence until proven guilty ? Do you think it was fair we were subjected to a trial by television, in what has now transpired to be a less than impartial documentary, cobbled together with evidence stolen from the government agency responsible for our investigation ? Do the pledges given by a professional investigative government body to respect and ensure confidentiality in tax matters not apply to Rangers because we are the "biggest and the best " ?
  4. Thats an excellent summation Frankie, it certainly echoes my own feelings as to who is ultimately culpable. I certainly feel patronised by a media who urge us to "forgive, forget and move on" while failing to acknowledge their own failings and contribution to what became, as Alex Mooney correctly labelled in The Rangers Standard, - "the witch hunt which shamed Scotland". Quite simply they will never be able to understand the depth of our anger - had they taken a moment to "walk about in our shoes" during those dark days they would have had a better understanding of where we are coming from and why. - but of course the only shoes they were prepared to don were those of the blood fest as they laid boot after boot into our club. It is with interest however I await the conclusion of the Police criminal enquiry into the breaches of confidentiality - Im hoping the successful identification and prosecution of some of those responsible will afford us some measure of "closure" at least. The conduct and behaviour of HMRC on a corporate level really does warrant a government led examination. They treated Rangers supporters and to an extent our club, with absolute disdain and contempt during the course of this investigation . And they continue to do so now . The conclusion of that Police enquiry will remove the shield they have been using to avoid answering questions or providing explanations into apparent failings at almost every level within their organisation. They like the media have failed to understand the depth of anger which has been generated - it is an anger which will not subside, nor will the desire for answers. They will however understand fully, in the due course of time.
  5. Given the authors I would suspect it is a serious in depth academic treatise rather than any money making exercise.
  6. What about the "Sadly I do not think in my heart of hearts Ally has what it takes" faction ? They may look at our aging squad, many of whom will not be able to compete, should we successfully negotiate the Championship and think our manager's planning for the future is flawed. Aligned to our unattractive and uninspiring brand of football I think most of us would be shocked if your vision came to fruition. Wonder what Nicky Clark is thinking as he watches all these old timers trotting in for one final hurrah. And we wonder why young Telfer left ?
  7. Utterly devastating news. I know we will all miss him.
  8. If Im correct SC I think this has been considered as a possible option - with King lending the money to the fans to buy out Institutional Investors. Im not sure if it was progressed however.
  9. If I told you the story about my attempts to renew, I can assure you, you would be totally flabbergasted.
  10. Thats fair enough. As you know I have spoken to Chris Graham re UOF strategy and delivery - and whilst I have not agreed with quite a bit of what has transpired I have said that to them directly, furthermore much of my criticism is around the acceding of so much power to King. Whilst some are hostile to the UOF strategy it has to be remembered that it is probably the only effective strategy open to any group wishing to protest given the supports dis-enfranchisement over the years.
  11. From what FTH have been pulling out of late I think they may well have a lot more to worry about than vendor free streets close to the stadium. :-)) I see Caroline Santos the new UKIP chairwoman/Borders has got her teeth into it. and has progressed it to the higher echelons within her party. Noticeable as well the increase of hostility towards pzj - although of course they are trying to dismiss him as some sort of crank.
  12. Sorry Im not following you Zap. Edit - got you now. Its a fair point regarding street vendors - they do take revenue off the club, but they have been there since I started going as a boy - and thats a lot of years ago I may add. But in the overall picture we are denying our club of what would be considered regular revenue in both ST sales and merchandise imo - at what point does that stop. Indeed does it have a line in the sand point ? The board have categorically stated that they will not deal with Ibrox1972 - so what happens next ?
  13. And I doubt it would be much better than 50% GS - most I think would opt for the Zebra Finance offer.
  14. I would not class fanzines as an alternative to a match day programme - others appear to argee with you however - but thats my own take. I think the content of fanzines such as FF and NO 1 over the years have been vastly different in content as an official match day programme. Re the top -I think most of us read the discussion in the lead up to its launch - but if you guys are happy to suggest otherwise - then fill your boots.
  15. In what way did you not agree with the concept for the current circumstances Zap ?
  16. Fanzines as an alternative to match day programmes ? Fans groups raising money to buy shares ? Come on ...thats hardly valid comparisons.
  17. If they are intrinsically linked or inter-connected how can we dismiss the effect when we cant even ascertain, so far at any rate, the actual value the club receives from such sales ?
  18. With the exception of Bill McMurdo and those who follow his blog - Ive yet to meet or encounter any Bears who are happy with the performance of / or support the current board, - whether that equates completely to the slump in ST sales Im not convinced. Id suggest that the failings of the current board in securing cc/debit cards have made the whole logistical process far more difficult. Furthermore there are some Bears not renewing due to the product on offer. It becomes even more difficult to fathom as I know of Bears who are unhappy with the current board but have renewed nonetheless.
  19. What views are you actually alluding to be as being in the "minority" ? And do you know the ST renewal figure that you are making that assertion ? Are you referring to Jackson's tweet on Twitter ?
  20. So you dont think it would be appropriate for them to share what evidence they have on sale and leaseback with the wider support ?
  21. Thats what Im asking you - while you and I may not be happy with the way the club is being run by the current board - where do you arrive at the conclusion it is the "bulk of the support " ?
  22. Honest question for you T4C - on what basis do you view it as a minority viewpoint ?
  23. Well you seem to be asking 2 questions (1) The income the club gets from such sales - I dont know the figure, and it appears from some of the various stabs at it - neither do others on here. Its fine saying "I have read we get 70p" but that all depends on the veracity of the source. (2) We know how essential merchandising is in the finance of our club - are you honestly saying that that you dont see that as impacting on all aspects of our club including transfer budgets ?
  24. Well they dont seem too upset by it - we have just enjoyed a fairly amicable chat on Twitter regarding the article. Perhaps its more of the "same old" from yourself - ever considered that ? Strange you would describe an article advocating Fan Ownership as more of the "same old".
  25. There are big questions Zap - to be honest I think question 3 in my article is far more of a bigger question than the amounts from shirts,.
