I would happily watch the turgid dross served up by Ally from now until the end of the season if he could secure 2nd place for us

A very good read if somewhat depressing due to it's realism and pragmatism. On the plus side, I think we've been down so long that only the bug-eyed loyal will be expecting changes overnight and the fan base will be prepared to give board, team and management time, just as long as we see *some* signs of change in the right direction. Remembering that this is not Serie A, we should be able to secure a top 3 spot in our first season back in the top flight and I don't think it's unrealistic to expect a title challenge a season or two after that.,

once you've stopped laughing, you'll be able to outline exactly how Park helped to unseat this board and exactly why he gets to use the pronoun 'we'?

Sorry? "we" Douglas? When did it become "we"? You have immense wealth it would seem, but you don't have a diary or a watch, because you come very late to a party that is well under way. All I read in your statement is a bombastic attempt at crowd pleasing. All of us on this forum and others know where we stood and what we did to get rid of the parasites - but where the fuck were you when we needed a figurehead? Dave King and Paul Murray were, at least, in the fight from the start; they played a long game, they showed a dedication and a tenacity that will have cost them both in terms of finance and energy. But you, Douglas? Where were you in all of this? Nowhere, as far as I can remember - and yet you have the chutzpah to litter your statement with "we" this and "we" that? What did *you* do, with your great wealth? Where were you as a voice in the business community when we were getting violated by rats? The result against Cowdenbeath left me annoyed. Your statement leaves me worried. Deeply worried.

we never recovered from the Hearts game - which maybe exposes the inherent lack of bottle and character of this team

If he was so concerned about people losing their jobs, you might think he would have said something when people were, you know, losing their jobs - when his words might actually have done some good. -

Who do you think will be CEO (presuming we win)?
The Real PapaBear replied to Ser Barristan Selmy's topic in Rangers Chat
my choice would be Leeanne Dempster. She's doing a top notch job at Hibs by all accounts, just as she did at Motherwell. -
Contract check - as of February 2015

that's fine by me - I still think the kid will come good once he's playing in a team that's not totally disfunctional -
Contract check - as of February 2015

agree about the new manager. if he has any sense, he'll drop all those whose contracts expire in the summer and who have already chucked it this season, so that the ones who still have a contract have something to play for. This team should, if they were playing at all, still be good enough easily to win this division. -
longer than that even - it's been happening since before Hibs last won the Scottish Cup

should that not be 'slithering' out?

The Herald-Football biggest contributor to Scotland's sectarianism
The Real PapaBear replied to pete's topic in Rangers Chat
John, allow me to ask a couple of questions here. First you cite comparable countries to Scotland, can you give an example of any of those countries where 20% of the population is hived off into seperate schooling at the age of 5? Second, you state, a priori, that RC schools don't cause sectarianism; do you have any evidence for this assertion? I think there is a fundamental flaw in your claim and it is one I can best highlight be asking the following question (it's not rhetorical and I would be interested in an answer); If you believe that a separate schooling system for Catholics does not cause the division in which the seeds of sectarianism grow -and note, I am not ascribing blame - , would you be equally happy to have separate schooling systems for Muslims, Hindus, Jews, Seventh Day Adventists and indeed atheists? Would you, to take it to its logical conclusion, have separate schools based on political, societal or moral priniciples? After all, why should religion be the only construct which determines how we educate our children? Should we have schools for Socialists and Conservatives, Nationalists and Unionists, Marxists and Libertarians, Feminists and Fundamentalists? And if not, why not? Following your argument we should be able to divide our nation's children into whatever sub-groups we want to with no effect on the cohesion or harmony of society. Except, that's not how people work, is it? -
Japanese baseball has a rule, unique to itself, that if a team is getting severly humped by 10 runs the game is called, under the 'Mercy Rule' to prevent further unnecessary humiliation to the losing team. I bet Man City wished this game was being played in Yokohama.

mediocre? The guy is captain of his club and country, neither of which play half as well when he's missing. The Brown of your description existed maybe 5 years ago - but no longer. I'll grant you, he no Souness, but then that's not his job. He's an engineer, not an architect. If I could have my pick of any player in Scotland to sign for next season, he would be it.
