My thinking exactly. We have been sorely missing a captain and a leader and Ferguson would provide those as well as being able to mentor MacLeod. Ferguson made his mistakes and paid the price - so afaiac, the slate is wiped clean. I think he'd come back in a heartbeat and we need him as much as he wants us.

I can't believe I'm about to say this, but here goes.......I think the best signing we could make would be Barry Ferguson. There. I said it. I'm out of the closet and I feel liberated!

Levein back at Hearts, Locke out
The Real PapaBear replied to Gribz's topic in General Football Chat
excellent news. Hearts under Locke were starting to be a force to be reckoned with and indeed they had the best record in the top flight over the past two months. no chance of that now. -
Think you're being a bt harsh there, bud. Miller is a very quick thinking and intelligent player and could be just what we need to unlock 10 man defenses next season. He's also, as was pointed out elsewhere, aware of what is expected when you play from Rangers and is a model professional in his conduct and his attitude. I would be more than happy to see a forward line of Miller and Clark next season

If it is. For a 'neutral' this chap seems a) very well informed about the complexities of our situation and b) to have adopted a decidely non-neutral standpoint. Every - and I mean every - truly neutral or non Rangers-supporting football fan I have ever met, long ago lost any interest in our behind the scenes carryings on and is now bored rigid by the whole affair. Only Timothy continues his voyeuristic interest.

Ex players and their part in 2012 and onwards
The Real PapaBear replied to Stimpy's topic in Rangers Chat
why was he an arse, how did he cuddle up to Celtic fans and what did he get wrong? Genuine questions. -
I was speaking with a client today who is fairly well connected and he said that they had "under 3k" renewals so far not enough to last until the end of the month.

Sad, Sad, Sad...but you're gonna be mine?
The Real PapaBear replied to andy steel's topic in Rangers Chat
I had actually heard rumours to that effect. Also, that this used to be a forum for talking about football. I put both down to the ramblings of old men, so unlikely is either one. -
Sad, Sad, Sad...but you're gonna be mine?
The Real PapaBear replied to andy steel's topic in Rangers Chat
Not me. I think Steel is at his best when he's maudlin and despondent; His 'Blue' period, if you like. -
I think if it was for the "potential" player of the year, MacLeod would get it; as it is, it's for the actual player of the year, so it has to be Wallace.

I think the bonus will be awarded on the condition that there are two vowels in both his first and surnames. Failure to meet that criteria means the bonus will not be awarded. Seems fair to me.

Oh, I'm sorry; I didn't realise we all had to come up with a business plan before we could enter into the debate. Tell you what; after you.

Rangers requisitioners warned cash storm clouds were gathering
The Real PapaBear replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Your first three sentences don't actually say anything or deal with the points raised, so it's hard to respond. As to your fourth, you're right. I don't for a fact know that other shareholders weren't invited. However, nor do I know for a fact whether the Consul General of Japan was invited but couldn't attend. In both cases, the likelihood is about the same. The fact is that S Easedale has an undue and unjustifiable influence on the board and this is an indictment on the way the board is being run. Quite why you are refusing to acknowledge the undeniable is beyond me.- 38 replies

I didn't say he saved us. Have another read and then maybe you can address the other points when you're done.

Rangers requisitioners warned cash storm clouds were gathering
The Real PapaBear replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Far from being a sidenote, it is central to the issue that S. Easedale was sitting at the top table with the rest of the board at the AGM - which other normal shareholder did that? It appears that S Easedale takes part in board meetings. Which other normal shareholder does that? S Easedale feels secure enough in the price sensitive knowledge he has to speak to the press about it; which other normal shareholder does that? Which other normal shareholder gives press interviews about board matters? Are you being willfully blinkered about his involvement?- 38 replies

Four things: First, I would have thought you'd have done your research before making accusations. But perhaps, since it's Ally, the normal rules don't apply, eh - and your accusation is based on what might have possibly happened maybe, rather than what actually did. Still, I look forward to your search. Any idea when you'll get back to me on the results? Second, by whom exactly is the manager "known as the most important man at the club". Managers can be and are sacked at the whim of the owner on a weekly basis in professional football. By what stretch of teh imagination is teh person being sacked more important than the person doing the sacking? Third, what does McCoist's "blessings" or otherwise have to do with the fact that this board broke the law this week? Once again, you are ignoring the mismanagement in the boardroom and deflecting the conversation away from those culpable for it and onto someone who has nothing to do with it. Fourth, you're once again avoiding the issue about the board taking an immoral and undeserved bonus by diverting the topic onto McCoist's salary. Two entirely different things. I wasn't in the least concerned about any comments made about Easedale - but then Easedale didn't help save us in our hour of need after providing over a decade of fanatstic service to us.
-
three things: First,..."if" you "remember right"? You'll forgive me if I don't place a lot of trust in your memory. I don't suppose there'es any chance of any proof of this claim? Second: the term "major club employees" is something I have never come across before; the reason being there is no such thing; it doesn't exist. The reason that you have brought it into existance is to bolster your myopic and vindictive campaign against McCoist by insinuating some sort of equivalence between him and those responsible for club finances. There is no parallel to be drawn between those who hand out the money and those who are given the money. There is no equivalence between employer and employee. Third How does making a baseless, and probably libelous, claim that McCoist, (who is an employee with no say in remuneration), tried to hide his salary "make the point" that Wallace's contract will be revealed in the accounts?

There you go; fixed that for you mate.
