  1. One sure way to avoid accusations of foolishness is not to write foolishness. UEFA have jurisdiction over the SFA and if the SFA failed to act on the return of TBB the SFA would be fined or at worst expelled from UEFA. So your suggestion that singing TBB at home is OK because UEFA don't have jurisdiction over domestic matches is, to put it kindly, simplistic. The SFA have not taken action because it has all but disappeared from domestic games, apart from a couple of brief appearences belted out by a handful of morons. To suggest that the SFA would allow the full scale return of TBB and so we should all start it up again is utterly bizarre. Any return of TBB would be met with sanctions and would only serve to damage the club and I'm not quite sure why you would want to do that. Maybe you're just one of those who put their own agenda above the good of the club.
  2. I have to think you're being deliberately obtuse now. Maybe you expect UEFA to compile a list of every song it deems unacceptable? Or maybe they could just write something like Article 14. Article 14 - Racism, other discriminatory conduct and propaganda 1 Any person under the scope of Article 3 who insults the human dignity of a person or group of persons on whatever grounds, including skin colour, race, religion or ethnic origin, incurs a suspension lasting at least ten matches or a specified period of time, or any other appropriate sanction. 2 If one or more of a member association or club’s supporters engage in the behaviour described in paragraph 1, the member association or club responsible is punished with a minimum of a partial stadium closure. They have fined us three times in increasing amounts and given us a suspended sentence of a stand closure for discriminatory chanting at games where TBB was sung. You know that, I know that, and the idiots that continue to sing it know that. I don't know what you think you're getting out of pretending otherwise but you're just making yourself look foolish.
  3. Happy to help. UEFA Disciplinary Regulations, Article 14, Page 7. I'm not quite sure why you're all of a sudden talking about "the song in all forms". The whole point of this discussion is that because our support refused to adapt the song so that it is now deemed entirely discriminatory per se. We got fined in 2006, fined again 5 times as much in 2011 and have been warned of a stand closure and even heftier fines if we sing it again. So calling the people who insist on damaging the club just so that they can follow their own agenda "stupid" does say something about me I guess. But then so does my sig.
  4. Well, Mrs Waltersgotstyle certainly has her work cut out, that's all I'll say
  5. QED. That way of thinking is exactly what i'm talking about. Why would UEFA "offer" us anything? What did we have that they wanted so that they would 'offer' us anything? Do the police "offer" you anything to drive with a valid tax disk ? No, what happens is that if you're caught by a decent cop, he'll let you off with a warning the first time. After that, unless you're a complete idiot, you'll wise up and get the disk without expecting an "offer" to be made. If you don't, you get your car taken off you and crushed. We should have taken the first warning and been pro-active in changing the offending words. But instead of acting smart, we conform to (stereo)type. And why would it not have been workable? Because we are too stupid?
  6. What is that supposed to mean? That we should have continued to sing it in the face of ever increasing sanctions against us for doing so? Is that what you are suggesting? Your first sentence is absolutely spot on, though. The fact that we allowed the best chant in world football to be taken away from us because we weren't smart enough to see what what Timmy was doing and play him at his own game? Well that does say something about how monumentally stupid we can be. All it needed was a change in one line, a bit of positive PR spin announcing the fact and we walk away with our anthem intact and with a PR victory. But, no. Not us.
  7. I reckon FIFA will give him a ban of longer than 6 months, which will allow him to appeal it - a process which will last longer than the WC. Ideal scenario for them. They get to act tough and hammer the player, but he still gets to play in the competition.
  8. hate to be pedantic, but it was a known unknown, rather than an unknown unknown
  9. Zap, Tinman actually makes quite a valid point. Please remove my sympathy-point forthwith! If I'm too stupid to work out how to make predictions, that's my own fault and I see no reason why other people should lose their rightful place in the table. Obviously, this doesn't apply to Tinman, who will still remain where he is. At the bottom.
  10. I don't think anyone doubts Nerlinger's pedigree or suitability for the job, but that's not the point here. The point is whether this is just more bullshit from the board.
  11. It's probably just familiarity, mate. I mean, how often can you watch them build up a team of mediocrities just to watch them fall apart at the first test before it gets old? Ok, nobody was talking about them winning it this time, but I heard mention of the quarters or semi finals. This crowd? The semi finals? Granted, there are a couple of exciting talents up front, but the rest of them would be better suited to giving children rides on Blackpool pleasure beach.
  12. cheers bud! I hadn't noticed that menu and thought I'd put in all the scores previously. I'll gladly take the point - my fight with Tannochsidebear is more important than dignity.
  13. YYESSS!!! Off the bottom!! btw, how useless is Tannochsidebear?
  14. Their defensive coach certainly takes a lot of credit - but nowhere near as much as their drama coach. Germany play the most cynical football around and their diving and play-acting is worse than anyone else. Sorry dB, but it's ABG for me!
  15. Man, to find a number that small you'd need to use the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.
  16. It's really not "next to perfect", bud. The syntax is sloppy, the punctuation haphazard and the use of hyphens, well, idiosyncratic, to say the least. Whether a fan on a forum mocks the statement whilst making grammatical, spelling or syntactical errors themeselves doesn't lessen the validity of the attack since the fan is not representing the club. Easedale, god help us, is - and we have a right to expect that anyone speaking on behalf of the club is able to do so properly.
  17. I'm honestly not getting my excuses in early, but...does anybody understand the points system fot this thing?
  18. Zappa? This guy's cleary an infiltrator, he's heard of Celtic and admits it! Kindly have him taken out and shot.
  19. He may be there some time, since I can't imagine there are more than one or two people so ignorant of Rangers and our history that they've never heard of it before. Actually, maybe just one.
  20. Admin's - any chance of changing the title of this thread? Neutraltimmmy's had his fun, but enough's enough.
  21. my first reaction: "Lennon's had some dental work done" Then I realised I was looking at a picture of a camel.
  22. I can see him as a good fit for the Kilmarnock job after AJ gets punted - probably about 6 games into the campaign.
  23. Easier to say in hindsight, but I don't think it was or will turn out to have been a mistake. He had taken ICT as far as they could go and kept them there for as long as they could be kept. Their crowds were static and the only way was down. Hibs presented a golden opportunity to really make a name for himself (as it will for the manager who does eventually turn them into a football team). As it turned out, I think history will judge him kindly. He inherited a deep-seated, long standing mess of someone else's making and with someone else's players - and he got punted before he was able to do the job he'd been hired for, i.e. turn that club around. Anyone who works with people in any sort of leadership/management role knows that if you get a bad mix or a bad bunch there is often not a lot you can do, other than get rid of them. He never got the chance.
