I suspect the reason is to do with not wanting to see hero's fall. You like to think that some figures are above that and genuinely care about the club. Given his history and actions pre-crisis, Ally would have been towards the top of everyone's list in this regard, the fans always thought of him as one of their own and don't like to be disillusioned from that ideal.

League Cup 3rd Round: Rangers v St Johnstone - Live on BBC1 Scotland

Motherwell at Ibrox please! -
Obviously a lot of concern that Ally's still drawing a wage, and understandable. For me he'll always be a legend and should always be welcome back at Ibrox, just perhaps not in any sort of employed role... (Possibly some role as a club ambassador, but better if it's unpaid). Here's a thought though. How would people react if he were to use the money's earned on gardening leave to buy out the Easdale block and rid us of them, would that be enough to repair some of the damage? Not that I've heard anything (don't have the connections that some around here do!), just thought it might be an interesting turn of events were it to happen!

Arrests made at Hibernian v Rangers Challenge Cup match
RabiDuck replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
That might be the answer. A co-ordinated action from Rangers fans, in the same way as is done against us. Anything to draw attention to the issues elsewhere. Yes we need to get our house in order and have made large strides towards doing so, but we can't allow the double standards to go unchallenged. Doesn't even need all of us to tune in, a summary of key issues from those who do will allow the complaints to be taken up by others! -

Stewart Robertson appointed as managing director
RabiDuck replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
We should have seen it coming, Green and White was never going to be a good combination.... sorry! -
Did I not read somewhere (possibly here) that he's resigned his position at Newcastle, would this have an impact?

Bring us up on charges of appointing a competent manager? Most likely! Oh well, at least it's something we can hopefully plead guilty to for a change!

Any sign of the press conference yet? feed from BBC doesn't seem to have started, am I missing it?

New management team: Mark Warburton and David Weir

Perhaps Cathro, as a young inexperienced manager, working under Walter for a couple of years before he's been moulded to the point he can step up to the top job? "I'm gonna need a bigger spoon!!" -

Court action: Injunction granted and RFC to pay £20K costs
RabiDuck replied to raygun's topic in Rangers Chat
Frankie, so basically, we paid £20k in costs to turn up and confirm that we don't intend to breach confidentiality and then be told we can't breach confidentiality? And it took 5 SD chaps to do this? -
Court action: Injunction granted and RFC to pay £20K costs
RabiDuck replied to raygun's topic in Rangers Chat
Naive idea, potentially, and I'm sure someone will tell me why it would have been a bad idea, but as much of this game is PR would it not have been a good result for RIFC to turn up to the court hearing (their 1 representative against SDs 5) and simply say "yeah, we know what's in the contract and wont say anything we shouldn't" the fact that SD took it to court shows the public they're worried that there may be something that could be said, but also makes a mockery of SD for bringing the case in the first place? This stuff will surely leak out eventually, it just needs the right people to get hold of the content. How that might happen I don't know, someone on the inside that passes it on without being traced would be the obvious option. -
Rangers will have to pay Newcastle £500,000 if they are promoted
RabiDuck replied to Bearman's topic in Rangers Chat
In essence, I could talk you into signing a contract that would allow me to punch you in the face once a day for the next year. If I actually tried to do it, I'd still be liable for prosecution. -
Rule 1 - No secret about the dual interest, SFA approval for up to 10% shareholding Rule 7 - Again, no secrecy about the interest and 10% approved. Don't believe there's a fit and proper concern either Rule 21 - "Influence the management or administration" is the important bit here, and while there's historic instances, it couldn't be argued that he currently has this influence Rule 86 - Guilty Given similarities, I'd expect the same punishment as Livi, however "2. Livingston FC prevented from registering any player, either on loan or permanently, or extending the contract of any player currently registered with the club until such time as the club has resolved the ongoing breach of Disciplinary Rule 21." - I'd argue that in this instance we've resolved this breach.

Not always the case. Refer to the Unfair Contract Terms Act (1977). If the terms of a contract are deemed to be unfair they can be challenged -
No club tie?

There is that. As long as we don't end up with Neil Lennon or Martin O'Neil I think the board are pretty safe whoever they go for!

Would surely depend on the new manager....

Still, 85% of the 67% who voted is still 57% of shareholders who actively voted for change. This is good! -

So, tomorrow's papers full of news about King's tax case and how he's not "fit and proper" to run a football club? -

Great news, now let's hope the club can get back to football rather than politics! -

45 minutes to go, that's a single half of football. Something tell's me it's going to drag about as much as watching half a rangers game given current quality!
