Simms scored two for Sunderland. Stewart got the third. Simms played like Morelos. Defenders were afraid of him.

Sorry about that. I try to keep the inner pedant under strict control but it’s a wild beast and breaks out from time to time. Should be ok now for a week or two. -
League over. City have won it. I know there are formalities to be gone through but Liverpool and United have dropped too many points already and we know ‘Spurs will ‘Spurs it. Anyway, West Ham away or So’ton at home? How did ‘Spurs even manage to go a goal behind? Meanwhile, in the Championship Sunderland have launched their promotion charge. Watch out, Mags. The ghosts of Roker are coming to claim you. There you are, lads. Two sensible, carefully considered predictions. Raid the wife’s housekeeping money, empty the kids’ money boxes and off to the Booky’s. At the odds you’ll get there’s no need to use your own funds.

I heard a bit of radio commentary. Chelsea had a massive number of corners all of whIch came to nothing.

Let us know how you get on. The SNP are very easy to wind up. Then they go off in a huff.

It was but perhaps neither fabulous nor a sinking.
-
According to bbc website DU produced a fabulous display to sink Alkmar. Final score 1-0 in case you wonder how fabulous and how sunk.

Rangers defend better when Helander plays and attack better when Hagi plays and are more likely to score when Roofe plays. No stats, just an impression. Getting Helander and Roofe onto the park is the problem. Will Hagi recover like Larsen or like Moles?

Defenders have been marking forwards since time immemorial. It’s up to the attacking midfield (inside forwards we used to call them) to make the space. One way is to beat a man and draw another, like Laudrup or, like McMillan, rifle a long pass between defenders. The forwards must anticipate what their team mate is likely to do (that’s what training’s for) and run into the space before the cover is organised. All of these skills need talent, though. If it’s not there, not much you can do but hope.

I think he meant Hannah from Malvern.

I gave you a laugh for that, compo but after short reflection I agree.

Terrible ju-ju, buster. Rousseau sees this and you’re looking at a ban. -
Devastating winger. Destructive centre forward. Rocket shot. I was glad when he left.

You mean the plucky little Belgians are going to stand fast and repel the invader? Always a first time, I suppose.
-
Not necessarily. Willie Henderson wasn’t renowned for aerial prowess either. Bassey had drive, determination and enthusiasm. Three words meaning much the same but they emphasise the qualities which Bassey deployed for the team. I wish we could have kept him but I’m glad we got the money. Cakeism - the politician who can implement it gets my vote.

I agree. Three points is all I need and in previous seasons except the 55 Rangers might not have been able to achieve the victory. It was the stuttering way the team seem to have played that is so familiar - giving away a stupid goal and keeping possession without threatening much. -
The Bank is in the clear. Money received in settlement of a debt can’t be clawed back no matter the origins of the money, provided of course that the creditor has acted in good faith. In a hypothetical case, it might be different if the creditor had knowledge of irregularities in the origins of the money but it would be very difficult to prove that hypothetical case.
