  1. dB, I salute your indefatigablity. The John Greig of the Message Board.
  2. He lives in Arkansas, so probably not many. I haven’t seen the team on the hoof for many years. Doesn’t stop me pontificating. (Is that an ok word here?)
  3. I’m reconciled to defeat so it’s quite nice not to be worried for a change. I know what you mean, though and that is worrying.
  4. In City’s case it’s the CL not the EC. Pernickety but buster’s like that.
  5. Hibs had Pat Stanton, Peter Cormack and a fellow, Colin Stein, playing for them that night. Also Father Pat Quinn and Alex Scott’s brother Jim. @compowill remember them well.
  6. The Arsenal game is postponed a week, the Rangers game by only one day. The Alban Polis obviously can’t cope with a second big event immediately. Glasgow City Police would have managed no bother.
  7. Arsenal v PSV postponed. Does the foregoing apply to them too?
  8. Yes. I can’t remember the rate or yield but at one time in the fifties the share price was £12.00. Don’t recall the denomination. £1.0.0 Ordinary?
  9. What, exactly, could the Club do? Refuse to play?
  10. Even a half would do. Greatest Rangers player of my lifetime and that includes Tiger Shaw and Geordie Young.
  11. What, to defend it in case the Welsh start coming after us too?
  12. Disagree. They did what the coach told them.
  13. I used to watch a highly successful non-league team that competed easily in cup ties with second tier and even relegation fodder first tier sides. They had a cast iron defence. At the start of a new season they adopted zonal defence and lost three in a row. They switched back to man marking and won the league. With zonal defence, I don’t understand what happens when no attacker comes onto the zone. You can see what happens when three of them arrive at once.
  14. Everton might be Potter’s best move.
  15. I tend to agree with Stewart. For me, celtic are indeed going in the right direction when they suffer a defeat at home by a comfortable margin.
  16. I might not remember the facts correctly but it was Parks, not the Club, who raised the court action. Parks were successful but only on an interim basis although getting a final order with an award of expenses, I suppose, would be a formality. **The Club will have incurred the expense of legal advice but not being involved in the Court case won’t have an immediate right to recover that outlay. The Club was involved as a party in the SFA arbitration process. What happened to that? Parks are not a members of the SPFL so Park himself as Club Chairman can’t use the Club to blackmail the League (Unfortunately) Rangers may well have a right to recover their legal expenses but absent a formal award, won’t be able to make much use of that as a threat. If Rangers are subsequently found to have withheld consent to the TV deal unreasonably might that make them liable to the other clubs for their loss of a share of the extra money? I think this is the wrong battle to fight. ** On checking back, the action was Parks against the SFA with Rangers in the proceedings as interested parties. If there was an award of expenses, use it. If not get the award pronto.

Still Tanzanian unless the freak was born before 1964.
  18. Absolutely right. Amidst all the jokes about a green Pedro, I had an ominous feeling that Postecoglou might take the Terry Munro smiles off our faces. At the time of the appointment, my Hearts supporting younger lad speculated that the Australian would have a stumbling start but bring in some players no one had ever heard off who would suddenly do the business. And lo, it came to pass.
  19. Last week Argentina deservedly beat the All Blacks. This week NZ ruined them 53-3. Moral - last week means nothing. So cheer up lads. Get wired in and it’s victory to the Famous.
  20. Short of abandonment, compo, you’ll get a result. The only questions are will it be crippling, acceptable at best or delirium inducing?
  21. Simms (Everton/Hearts) rummling up Championship defences for Sunderland and Stewart clipping in the goals. I wonder if either of them was on the list of possibles at the start of the window. Neither good enough for Rangers, of course but the same would have been said about the boy di Stefano. Now under the direction of Tony Mowbray, I should add.
  22. Thanks for that memory. Straight out of the Bomber Jackson textbook.
