Maxwell and big Davie getting pelters again.
In their defence, United scored in the 47th minute. How come McCoist, Hateley, Durie and Duncan Ferguson didn’t score five in the remaining 43?

The 1967 Euro Cup Winners final was very disappointing because of a result in another competition but it was Bayern in Germany so no surprise. My worst Euro final is the two legged affair with Fiorentina. I expected to win that one because Rangers were a really good side at the time. Manchester was a miracle the team had got that far. Seville? I had a feeling Rangers had shot their bolt in the earlier rounds. None of these results was humiliating. None of the opponents was a minnow.
compo has mentioned a League Cup Final that ended in catastrophe. Strangely the fuss died down after a few days. Rangers signed Willie Telfer and all was well. It was only during our niar that the tims revived the memory of it to give them some comfort in their anguish. In a way the 5-1 at parkhead in 1966 was worse because the resurrection was a long time coming.
Therefore, combining, shock, humiliation and minnows, the front runners in the Competition of Shame are Gonzo’s Raith and 26th’s Chesterfield.
Chesterfield wins. By a distance.

I think losing the Ramsdens Cup Final was worse.
Still pissed off about that one to this day.
What is Rangers’ biggest letdown? There’s a list I’m afraid. Confining it to cup finals would make an interesting topic or even a poll but I’m not starting one in case I get banned.
Youth and inexperience might get me off, though.

He had a blazing hot team on incredible Euro form
Trouble was, some of the blazers were injured and not able to play in the final.

On a plus side Roger always gave you his all and he was a very decent man as well
I thought I’d seen the new George Young that night against Inter. Ah well.

Jota bewildered at first, then a rueful wee smile. Acknowledges the calibre of the save.

If Haaland keeps improving he will soon be as good as Jim Forrest was .
Jim Forrest in the shape of Roger Hynd.

Maybe I bored everyone to sleep with the stats but there seems to be remarkably little interest on here for a CL game at Liverpool
We’re all feart.

Not PL, but Chris Wilder has been sacked by Middlesrough.
Great for two or three seasons at Blades. On his way back down the leagues now.

Now over to the Hipsters to tell us about the tactical approach for Tuesday.
Personally, I'm starting behind the sofa with an occasional peek over the top.
That’s the place to be.

Hmmmm. West Midlands or Glesca? Black Country can be nice in winter, I hear and you can commute easily from the Cotswolds. On the other hand, Glesca gives you a free ticket to Europe.
Postecoglou is on the way up, sadly. Sadly, Wolves are on the way down. The twain shall not meet.

He would be the continuation candidate but Wolves are more in need of Sean Dyche to Burnleyise them i.e. keep them up for a few years. They had an outstanding post-promotion season playing nice football and getting a Europa League place. Perhaps that wasn’t such a good thing because playing in the extra competition, they fell back in the domestic league and last season all the warning signals were there as they floundered about just above the basement.

Wolves have sacked Bruno Lage. Looks like they'll be joining their Black Country mates, West Brom, in the Championship although Baggies themselves are flirting with another relegation to League 1.
Wolves have been on the slide since they sold the real Jota to Liverpool.

What happens if Haaland gets a bad injury ?
City still win the league but only by about twenty points.

Ok. A dangerous and deeply dishonest bunch of greetin’ wee girlies. No argument. See previous post.

Very true. Doesn’t stop them being greetin’ wee girlies as well. I cite McLeod and Stewart as two of them.

PQ really are a bunch of greetin’ wee girlies, aren’t they?
26th, your indefatigability in monitoring their gibberish is saluteable.

6-1 and still time to go.
Significant derby results, not just the scores but the manner of execution. Gunners and City pulling away and Liverpool haven’t started yet.
