  1. That’s all so unfair on Aberdeen for reasons which will no doubt emerge.
  2. A legacy from Raymond Glendenning.
  3. Who? Nevin?
  4. You should know that “dwarf” is not acceptable. Probably “low altitude accomplished persons” would do. I have no idea how the word “homosexual” is rendered these days. The choice is multiple but heaven help you if you pick the wrong one.
  5. I’ve never been keen on Cantwell, asil. Can produce something superb from time to time but the rest of the team isn’t good enough to carry him waiting for it to happen.
  6. Pretty good. Spot on with Sheffield United.
  7. DJ was also a really classy centre half. All the necessary physicality and a lot of skills to go with it. If Rangers hadn’t had Colin Jackson DJ might have become full time in that position.
  8. How far back, Rab? Derek Parlane, Jimmy Millar? Of course Millar wasn’t a six footer, he only jumped like one.
  9. The river banks are just the place for smoke and flame. An enclosed stand isn’t.
  10. I agree with all of that except Everton and Newcastle. Everton storming on the road but not so good at Goodison and Mags v Arsenal impossible to predict the result never mind the score. Could be 4-0, could be 1-4. It’s a match I would like to be at.
  11. AT: Concurring with the learned @compoabove, 1964 SCF. NOT AT: Barcelona, unfortunately without his colourful excuse for missing Newcastle.
  12. Aye, booooooo an’ aw. The CV analogy is false. Location beside the potted plant is irrelevant but responsibility to keep the thing under control is important.
  13. If the attack played against the defence, the attack would win 5-0. Three penalties and two ogs.
  14. Defence. Iron Curtain Loyal.
  15. I’m not sure Cifuentes and Dowell have anything to contribute. I’m not sure Lawrence can avoid injury for long enough to contribute.
  16. I don’t see a Leicester in that field. They’re all pedigree runners. Even ‘Spurs and Villa. Everton clawing their way up the Table. Should play all games away from Goodison. I suppose they’ll be doing that soon.
  17. Correct. Willie Thornton and Jimmy Millar weren’t giants either. Positioning and technique and courage mean more than height.
  18. Imagine being a green yin tonight. We’ve been there so many times. Thanks lads. Thanks to the heroes. OK, that’s enough of that. Dreadful performance.
  19. Kilmarnock can go back to their hooped shirts.
  20. No maybe. Beyond doubt if only because that day Dundee were better than any celtic side we beat.
  21. One more time.
  22. And again.
  23. It did indeed.
