“Scotland is a hard presbyterian country” (Spence)
I wish to God it was. Well educated, hard working, two gendered.

Toffeemen couldn’t hold on. 2-2 and they’re a point above the bottom two who each have a game in hand.

I wonder what revenue is derived from the women’s operation. If there’s any sort of deficit, it’s not worth having. Everything the club does should be in support of the first eleven.

I only read half of the first paragraph but it was a valuable exercise because I can now identify the targets of wrath. I’d thought they looked a bit like Davie Wilson and Archie Knox and wondered what they’d ever done to offend.

Gunners 0-2 down win it in last seconds. Champions performance.

The cup final may have done for them. Was it not a cup defeat to Chelsea that jiggered Kelvin Keegan’s championship run thirty odd years ago?

I for one would have loved him with Rangers up beside Colin Stein
How about an inside trio of hibbees, Mcgraw, Stein and Martin? Lot of goals there.

Dawns the day, well I think it’s dawned above a blanket of cloud.
I wish I were going to Ibrox to cheer the famous Rangers.

I can't help thinking it's been a hell of a journey back from near-oblivion, only to realise on looking around me that this isn't our stop at all and our destination is still nowhere in sight. Worse still, I don't even know if this bus actually goes there.
Exactly.

We take responsibility when we lose and blame ourselves.
Not so sure about that. Think of all the words we’ve read about Clancy, Collum, Beaton and the lino whose name I’ve forgotten. All criticism justified, though.

Nearly a week has gone by and nobody has blamed the referee. Shows how bad Rangers were.
I thought Walsh did well. I believe he is wrong-footed but it doesn’t show.

I was speaking to an old Bear after Sunday who said we are weak, timid, slow, turgid and unfit. Those adjectives apply both on the pitch and in the Boardroom.
I don’t know about the Boardroom but it’s an accurate description of the team’s play. I was expecting Tillman to ask the celtic defenders if they were ready yet and would it be ok to kick the ball towards their goal.

What are you laughing at, compo? 😆

And Leeds
THAT Eric Smith. Scored the winner in the eighty-eighth minute in a Scottish Cup tie in 1960 against Elgin City at Borough Briggs. Divers had got the equaliser four minutes earlier, City having led from the sixty-fourth minute. Damn them both.
I was at Tynecastle that day with thirty-six thousand others. You can imagine the roar when the half-times went up, ‘Gers and Jambos alike greatly amused by the nil-nil.

Mr McGraw has died.
Great old fashioned player. Sixty one goals in a season for Morton.

Son for ninety minutes, Richarlison and Moura for seventy each and ‘Arry Kane for twenty couldn’t get the ball past Wes Foderingham. 1-0 Blades.
In fact he hardly had a save to make. These illustrious fellows were no better than Rangers’ forwards on Sunday. At least Alfie scored.
Like Leicester yesterday‘Spurs didn’t seem much bothered.
Grimsby put out So’ton. The FA Cup is some competition.

All he had to do was to get past Malmö. Advantage Rangers in the second leg of the tie but his team threw it away. If they hadn’t, money would have become available. The Board had to make a decision. They made the right one.

Brendan out of the Cup.
Entertaining but strange match. Two ahead early in the second half Rovers were playing shooting-in, could have got two more then Leicester brought on Iheanacho, scored quickly and had a few chances but didn’t really seem all that bothered.

Meanwhile, in the good old effy cup, Brendan City are down 0-2 at home to Blackburn Rovers with half an hour to go. Should have been three.

Auld McGregor.
Davies and Goldson weren’t too dreadful but two classic centre forward goals conceded so it can’t be either for motm.

we've been living with this injury situation for 20 years or longer
That strikes a chord, PB. Other clubs may have the same problems that I don’t know about because I’m not interested.
The mighty Rangers teams of my younger days seemed to go through seasons using about fourteen or so players. No squad as such. Just the recognised first team and the recognised stand-ins.
