  1. I thought his name was Notgoodenuff?
  2. Maybe Robertson is very good at the back of house admin drudgery but I agree a new front man is needed. The problem is, we would never get one acceptable to all the tribes of Rangers. Returning to today’s game, though not the actual football, I see reports that Motherwell ultras have decided to do something else this afternoon rather than attend the match - pictures, messages, winching, who knows? Part of the current fashion to wave your arms about something probably.
  3. Wearing pretendy uniforms - timmish. Wearing full face balaclavas - timmish. Taking a non-football political grievance to the match - timmish. Not entering the ground to watch your team play - timmish. Criticising the Board isn’t timmish. That’s universal. You’re well entitled to your opinion, CF. I wouldn’t try to change it but there is a different perception of UB activity.
  4. Remember the old days when there was constant hubbub rising into wild cheers and falling into despairing groans and songs were sung instead of yapped? I don’t hold with this Continental chanting.
  5. Don’t you mean “scores one of the goals in a comfortable victory”?
  6. What are they going to do? Stop watching their favourite team? I don’t like this timmish conduct.
  7. Best to play them now. A semi-final defeat is never as sickening as losing in the final. With a change of luck, Rangers beat them and we can all relax at the Cup Final and cheer the team to a comfortable victory over Falkirk. (Ancient tribalism demands that the jammy caley creep no further in this competition)
  8. If the poor lad’s got a heart condition, I hope he’s being looked after by specialists and not by a football club’s medical department.
  9. Pathetic and immature not to turn up to cheer for your team, surely?
  10. Thanks again, John. I remember the night McLoy was signed. I was feasting at a corporate dinner when the hosts’ General Manager for Scotland gleefully made the announcement. Good ‘keeper despite what young folk think from watching a single video. Made the best save I ever saw.
  11. Scousers back down to earth. 0-1 at Bournemouth.
  12. Hello, yud. Are you where your flag says you are? If so, you’re basking in thirteen degrees. We’re a bit cold at zero. Absolutely right about Sakala.
  13. Reading @JohnMc’s excellent Wenger Stat topic and particularly the reference to Jimmy Gordon reminded me of what an old guy told me about what old guys told him about players. Rangers had “two Irish backs, you can’t get past” Bert Manderson and Billy McCandless. Manderson is in the HoF but McCandless is not. Manderson played 1915-1927, seven league titles. McCandless played 1920-1930, six league titles. Manderson deserves his place. McCandless should be alongside him, not just to resume a successful partnership but entirely on his own merits. His record is superior to many, specially some of the recent inductees. @compo probably watched McCandless’ last few games.
  14. Roofe, certainly and I think, Helander, had injury history. Great pity because they are the best at their jobs on the books.
  15. The back four could have been a first team back four in an injury crisis. Bit alarming.
  16. I like him. He’s a disruptor. Play him from the start for a decent run of games. May turn out to be no good but we can afford to experiment.
  17. How soon before Cantwell gets hammer-thrown? Will tonight be the night?
  18. Very interesting. I’d like it to be right. An old guy told me that old guys had told him that Jimmy Gordon of the Rangers would never be bettered as a player. Certainly sounds like a handy lad to have about. As for the immaculate Eric Caldow - what would he be worth now?
  19. That was an excellent report actually describing the play. Sports reporters and commentators should take note.
