  1. Sunderland, currently 9th in the Championship have sacked Tony Mowbray. He’s been doubtful about the policy of their Director of Football to bring in young players from round the world, develop them and sell at profit. Reported to have warned the Board that they won’t get promotion that way. Tabloid suggestions that Beale or Muscat may be his replacement or @SykseyBear favourite, Alex Rae. Shows the kind of drivel tabloids come up with. No doubt Mowbray will take it on the chin.
  2. Hasn’t aged well. There comes a time when dressing young no longer helps. The features sabotage your efforts.
  3. Sima’s got a good fast strike when he gives it the hoof.
  4. The Haaland/Grealish incident was inexplicable. Having said that I don’t think Grealish was going to score. Two defenders were arrowing in on him and they would have got him before he got his shot away. Maybe the ref thought the same and that City would make a better opportunity from the free kick.
  5. What are your thoughts, folks?
  6. How true. “Hello, Hello” is a song but the English have converted it to chant. They yap it out far too fast with a bizarre change of key from major to minor. It must be their C of E upbringing.
  7. Why do you keep playing all that other stuff, then?
  8. Two too many. What for? All drummers are insane.
  9. I struggle to think of any player who could play as a lone striker. I know the mantra about midfielders running up for the knock-downs and lay-offs but no use if they’re starting from too far back and much can go wrong on the journey up to the front. Hateley, Miller, Prso and the like had no trouble winning the ball but it’s much easier and more profitable if the second man is up there with them. Don’t tell me playing two strikers will weaken the midfield and put pressure on the defence. Not if the midfielders and defenders are competent it won’t.
  10. The selection of Dessers casts doubt on the invitation to leave.
  11. Scarcely a recommendation, old bean.
  12. On the contrary. The damage was done long before he got here.
  13. Cruelty to animals, that is. Why spend a fortune on quality beef and then ruin it?
  14. Normally I would agree but we’ve just had two “must wins” and the usuals couldn’t do it.
  15. I wouldn’t mind seeing the Plan. It might be Horlicks but we won’t know ‘til we see it.
  16. That would be interesting. You’re not Barry Ferguson by any chance? On reflection, no, your English is too good.
  17. Sterling and Ylmaz are little better than the incumbents but I’d give that team a go but no Cantwell. Lundstrum in between Rice and McKinnon. I’d be writing off this season, though, hoping for reward next year.
  18. I doubt anyone will be able to add anything to that. I hope Clement reads it. Look at the video of the players entering Ibrox last night. That didn’t look like a Rangers team. Last in was the captain looking terrified. A Rangers captain should look like this:
