Wow! What a legal whizz that McKenzie is! A child of three could have told him that.

I think it was Ian McMillan who was being fouled and Harrold thought he'd put a stop to it. Must have been reassuring for the ball-playing artistes in the side to know that if any of the opposition clouted you, Harry or Bobby Shearer would be along to redress matters.

See Tiger's shirt? All Rangers' shirts should look like that though the one that followed was more than acceptable. See Willie Thornton's shorts? All players strips should look like that at the end of the match.

Note the red and white bands on the shirts for those who say red onthe Rangers' shirts is a new fashion.

'Gers and Wolves two terrific teams. Pity Wolves didn't keep it up. I remember listening to the radio commentaries of their matches against Honved and Spartak. Their wingers Hancocks and Mullen destroyed the visitors , two of Europe's top sides. With regard to the song, the tune is fine, the lyrics need to be unshackled - some parts are under terrible strain - and the whole thing needs to be re-recorded by someone who can sing. I tell ye, it'd batter the download charts.

Slightly concerned about feedback from Green's NI trip

Number 8 is mostly right but the black socks have been around since forever and I remember a change strip in the mid fifties, white with one red and one blue band like old fashioned athletes' vests. -

Blackpool have played in orange since time immemorial. D. Utd have played in orange (sorry, tangerine) since Dutch football became fashionable 30+ years ago. I quite liked our Advocaat tribute orange outfit. Not so keen on the orange and blue striped number. I would happily watch Rangers in a British Racing green shirt. Not fond of emerald green, but that's a colour thing, nothing else. -
Alex Scott scored a hat trick in his first game against Falkirk at Ibrox 1954/55 season. Next week in a friendly at Highbury he scored both Rangers goals in a draw with the Arsenal. Scot Symon did not have a reputation as a "tracksuit" coach but Alex Scott attributed his immediate success in part to the advice he got from the ref running alongside him at the Albion practice matches. The ref was in fact the manager.

McLean and Spence are deadbeats. Gordon on the other hand is a skilled broadcaster. His occasional match commentaries are miles better than any of the others. He actually describes the play. So he's a Dons supporter. He was born in Aberdeen. No glory to be hunted there.

"davie wilson scored 157 goals in 373 matches and he scored six goals in a 7 - 1 win at falkirk and got transferred to dundee united at the age of 28 a bad move by rangers in my opinion . " In part exchange for the mercurial Orange Perssonn. Heart of a Lion Wilson also filled in at left back when Caldow was carried off after 10 minutes. No subs in them days. Didn't stop Davie playing the wing as well as emergency fuuback.

" ... Waddell on the wing now, races past the fullback, a cross into the penalty area, Thornton - goal for Rangers ... " Why yes, I remember it well. "Sound pictures" on Sportsreel on Saturday nights after the McFlannels and before the Scottish jigging, or was it the other way round?

"In April, 1966, Dane, Kai Johansen scored the winning goal against Celtic in the Scottish Cup Final Replay to become the first foreigner to score the winning goal in a Scottish Cup Final and the first Scandinavian to receive a winner’s medal." Ah wuzzerrr! Saw Kai's foot go back. Saw the net billow. Never saw the ball in flight.

Jim Christie was a coming man as the saying goes when he played for Ayr Utd. Rangers bought him for about £10,000. Two reasons he didn't play a lot of games - Maxie Murray and more importantly Jimmy Millar. Big McNeil must have had nightmares with Millar outjumping him for headers.

I don't think there's much in this except confirmation of S(eltic)PL's hopes of recovering titles. In draft agreements you put in all your heart desires and leave it to the other side to say "haud on".

The SFA charge Green over comments on SPL EBT investigation

Extra Rule 1: No individual may hold an opinion. Extra Rule 2: Freedom of Speech is suspended until further notice. Why do I think CG is enjoying all this? -
Knocked Peterhead off the top of the leaugue. Hope Rangers come up with us. And news from the City Board: "I heard the Ionic Bar was opening at 10am if the council approves. If so there are free pints for the first 10 Rangers supporters and unlimited shandy's for Elgin support. No spirits allowed. ex- Queens Own Highlanders are most welcome. Ask for Geordie McPhee" Could be a wind up but Burghead RSC had a pickup at the IO.

Bill McMurdo - Political Conspiracies & Football Clubs
Scott7 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Why would there be a conspiracy against LFC? I thought they were adored by show biz, media and politicos, which is why I went off them after beiing interested in the Liddellpool days and an admirer in the Hall, Heighway and Tommy Smith era. -
Elgin's Jack vows: We will do better at Ibrox next time

Wish it would be so but I fear Gazza_8's doubts are well founded. -
Templeton's departure from SPL to SFL3 was the main topic of Traynor's phone-in on Saturday. I don't blame Jambos for being miffed but what the Hell has it got to do with hibbees, dons, tics and st js? All yapping about greed, no ambition etc. One elegantly spoken Highland Gentleman put them all in their place by suggesting that DCT just wanted to play for Rangers and who wouldn't? Traynor himself was careful to say that he did not necessarily hold the view that DCT was lacking in ambition and he was just putting the question. Why put the question on the agenda in the first place? But, wait. It was BBC Sportsound. Explains everything.

I don't think it's apathy it's just that the Kirk nowadays doesn't like to give offence to anyone. A nice safe fence to sit on is what it likes. Me, I'm agnostic but I kind of liked the old Kirk giving everyone and everthing laldy.
